Geir Pavla, a former SEAL, has recovered from the damage done when his squad’s truck drove over an antitank landmine more than two years ago. Six other team-mates were also badly injured, the seventh–Mouse–dead, in what their team leader realized later had to be a trap. Geir has been trying to uncover details about Mouse’s history. The more he discovers, the more he fears their newest member … was nothing of the man they thought they knew and believed they could trust.
Morning Blossom runs a B&B in San Diego that her father co-owns. Unfortunately, he wants to sell despite that the business is the safety net she needs to pursue her passion for painting. While she longs to make a career of what’s only ever been a hobby, she isn’t sure she has the ability to be a success. Morning has avoided long-term relationships after one man who’d stayed at the B&B wanted to take up perpetual residence despite her objections. Geir, however, is someone she could grow used to having around permanently.
While Geir doesn’t understand her naïveté in letting strangers invade her world, Morning’s innocence and belief in the goodness of humanity attracts him. Geir’s innate protectiveness becomes much more than either of them anticipated when the nastiness of his world inevitably spills into hers…

The answers are almost there with what happened to the Men of Steel many years ago when the men in a SEAL team were hurt, badly with one of them dying. Getting closer to find out who Mouse really was and why someone is hunting them still and going after the men’s loved ones. Geir and Jager end up in a B&B and meet Morning, the owner and a friend of Mason’s, but their presence there brings danger to her doorstep, with unexplained happenings in her home as the men continue their investigation. Can the men protect her.
Another great instalment in the series with some answers but not all of them, continuing the suspense and mystery. I liked these two, Geir and Morning, and the slow burn between them. There’s steam and an attraction between them and I loved how Geir loses control with her near the end. I also enjoyed Morning, she was a bit insecure with her art and I enjoyed her discussions with herself, her pep talks and thinking out loud.
I loved the ending and what Jager does for Geir and Morning…now I can’t wait to read how this author wraps it all up and gives the answers to a mystery that started in Book 1.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Time is running out as the complexities of this plot start to unravel…
Discipline, being secure in life and work is what Geir has had in his life until tragedy struck that forever changed his life and those of his team mates.
Theories, more questions, and not fully comprehending all that their deceased team member, Mouse was. What they are unravelling is proving confounding and frustrating, even though they feel they are now starting to learn more.
While going back to a past that holds former memories of wholeness, it will lead Geir and his team mate/friend, Jager, to more questions, and finding the depraved man who destroyed innocence under cunning guile,
It will also bring something completely unexpected and fresh. It’s a feisty young woman, Morning Blossom, that with her naïveté, innocence, and a hard fought for belief that most people are inherently good will bring new possibilities. For all of them, as the net closes in… people become desperate and danger lurks in the very confines of what you hold dear and where you should feel safe.
Oh BOY!! Dale continues to reveal more layers of suspense and mystery. There is a sense that in GEIR, time is fast running out. Another layer to the mystery is evolving and those responsible are doing their level best to eliminate and get rid of any connection to the land mine that forever changed and shaped the men of Seals of Steel.
Dale continues this captivating series with yet another page-turning drama of Intrigue, twists and unexpected turns – with GEIR. I highly recommend not only reading GEIR, if you haven’t already begun this series, please go back to the beginning and start reading the SEALS OF STEEL series. It’s for those that love military based heroes and the women that capture their attention, protect those they care and love. It’s a bombshell of a mystery that you really want to delve deep into and solve. Plus, what’s some romance on the side to keep of Seals of Steel captivated.
Are the friends we thought we knew, those we worked closely with, we saw war with, our friends, our protectors… really who they are? Only time will tell or is that time running out. Next up is Jager and is sure to be explosive in what will eventually be revealed.
The mystery continues, who was Mouse, why did it happen and who did it? This is mainly Geir’s story and the woman he fell for.
This series is an awesome romantic suspense, each book better than the last. You can’t read this as a stand alone or you’ll be lost in the story line.
Great story and wonderful characters, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Another enjoyable read from Dale Mayer. I call this a mystery as well as suspense because we still don’t have the answer as to who is behind it all. More info came out about Mouse and Dales writing had me facilitating between hurting for Mouse past and angry at what / how he became a seal. Or did he? I like the way our famous Detective is showing up in some of the books. The romance between Geir and Morning Blossom progresses at a realistic pace, which I appreciated and had plenty of steam 🙂 Suspense, action, and of course our hot seals, all round out to make this another great book.

This is book six in the Seals of Steel series and is the story of Geir and Morning. Geir continues to follow the clues and unknowingly brings trouble to the bed and breakfast where he is staying. Morning owns and runs the bed and breakfast. What happens when Mornings safety bubble is popped. Can Geir keep her safe while trying to get answers. A must read for all Dale Mayer fans.
Oh my gosh, the suspense of this series just leaps off the pages. Geir meets up with Jager in San Diego to search for more answers regarding who Mouse was, how he managed to get into the SEALs, and what part Poppy played in this. Geir and Jager also meet Morning Blossom, who runs and co-owns the B&B that Mason booked them at. And as expected, there is an opportunity for Geir’s protectiveness to come out when strange things happen at the B&B. While we get some more of the answers regarding Mouse and Poppy, we still don’t know who is ultimately behind what happened. But we’re getting closer and Jager’s story is up next.
I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 6 in the SEALs Of Steel series.
The “SEALs of Steel” were an eight-man SEAL team unit that was misled/ambushed/given “bogus” orders that caused them to hit a landmine during transport. All the men were grievously injured and one man (“Mouse”) died. The remaining seven SEALs are investigating to find out what happened and why; and hopefully in the end to avenge Mouse’s death.
You certainly must read this series in order or you will be lost. This is definitely a series with layers of stories within a STORY.
This book centers around Geir & Morning (Blossom). The only other team member that is represented in this story is Jager. There is reference to Levi & also Mason. These characters are from two of Ms. Dale’s other related SEALs series. Also quite good.
Geir & Jager are in San Diego trying to investigate Mouse’s background as events to this point have led the team to believe their “accident” & the rash of tragic events the team members closest friends & family have suffered are somehow linked to their deceased team member, Mouse. Morning Blossom owns a large bed & breakfast & is an aspiring artist. The story starts well, gets slow & fairly convoluted (not typical of Ms. Dale’s works); and then picked up again only to really leave the reader hanging at the end. I certainly don’t have the authors incredible talent so I have no idea how it could have been improved, but this story while it filled in a very few blanks to the overall STORY; it didn’t reach the same caliber I’ve come to expect from Ms. Dale.
I did feel as if the story was cut a little short or was maybe rushed. This storyline is involved and probably won’t come to a conclusion or semi-conclusion for at least a few more books.
Love Dale Mayer’s books!
I started reading as soon as I downloaded this book. I don’t know if I was more excited to read Geir’s story or for Jager to finally show up. This book is full of suspense. You never know what is going to happen next. They are so close to finding out the answers but yet so far away. Can’t wait for Jager’s story!

This book continues the search for answers about Mouse and who is behind everything. Geir and Jager are the last unmatched pair and are on the road to San Diego where he meets Morning Blossom at her B&B. They are looking for Poppy who is a sick person. This book was written well and tells a sad story in one part of the book that will make u want to weep. All to real in our day and times. There is lots of action, near misses and dead bodies.
With the help of Mason (SEALs of HONOR), Geir is booked into a B&B in San Diego, where his presence would be less obvious to the killer he seeks than if he stayed with Levi’s group at Legendary Security (SEALs for HIRE) in Coronado. B&B owner Morning Blossom is manager and co-owner of the huge Victorian house and dreams of a career as an artist. Lack of confidence keeps her from her best work, so the B&B pays the bills for now. Geir arrives to check in and finds her in the kitchen baking bread, followed a few minutes later by Jager. It’s clear to Morning that these two men are close friends reuniting after a long time, that they are very special and are there on a very important and dangerous mission. Geir and Jager also each find Morning very attractive and try to shield her from involvement in their mission. But strange things begin happening at the B&B, and this dangerous mission has now also put Morning and the B&B at risk. When she realizes the target of their search is Poppy (If you read Laszlo you would already know this…), Morning recalls his reputation from her early school days. Her helpful information takes her deeper in danger, and Geir steps up to protect her while Jager provides them safety and space to pursue their relationship and Morning’s creativity as an artist. So now, you have met all seven survivors of the explosion that devastated Badger’s SEAL unit, but there is more excitement to come! Are you as addicted to this series as I am?
