Ottilie Kingsford has dealt with the judgmental eyes of the elite her entire life, especially since she’s one of them. She leads a double life, one she was raised for since birth: Lady during the day, Spy during the night. She’s a master of blending in, and the only currency she deals in are secrets and lies. When her assignment takes her to a disruption in the main square, she never expects to … expects to witness a magical war between gods and monsters. She most certainly doesn’t intend for the gods to catch her slipping away to give her report.
Now Big Ben won’t tick no matter how many tinkers work on it and the harshest winter in history has descended on London. The Gods keep insisting it’s the end of times, but Ottilie doesn’t believe in myths and legends. If two of those so called legends would stop ogling her like she’s some sort of circus freak, she could do her job. She just needs to stop the end of days and send the two men back to Asgard, where they belong.
The gears of Ragnarӧk are turning, and Ottilie will not fail her Queen.
Even if the world suddenly belongs to monsters…

Wow what a story, first it’s amazing how she came up with something new and different. This book made me laugh so hard and was fun to read! The character development you see, it’s fast paced and the short story continues that it all just clicks! So much happens that its just a rollercoaster and I want to get on it and go on this adventure with the characters! Tilly is amazing and Thor and Loki are fireee!! Overall I loved the story and how well thought out and written it was and can’t wait for more!!
If there are two things I love, it’s streampunk and Norse mythology. I don’t usually read spy books, but Moreno has such a talent for storytelling, I couldn’t pass this one up. I was so hooked from page one. The storyline and world building were really well woven together, I didn’t feel like one overpowered the other which can sometimes happen in the first book of a new series. I loved the action and mystery elements of the story. Our heroine, Tilly, was such an awesome character, she’s totally my spirit animal! She was smart and strong, but not in an overpowering or ridiculous way. Then there’s Thor and Loki… need I say more? I’m at the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment!
i love mythology, and rarely does an author grab me so completely that i hardly realize the end of the book is looming … fantastic book and truly cannot wait for the next!!
What an amazing book and what an amazing series. I already loved the short story, but this book I’m crazy about. And yet again, the author comes up with something completely new and different and I love her for it.
On of the most interesting details was the previously published short story, which is seemingly not connected to this book at all, until a moment comes and it all becomes clear. First of all, this was such a brilliant idea and so elegantly executed. The short story actually continues in one of the chapters of this book, while the reader gets a beautiful intro and initial character development.Absolutely brilliant!
And the story itself… Oh how I laughed and how much fun I had reading it! The plot is fantastic, fast paced and so much happens, it’s a roller coaster of adventure after adventure. The author always brings a fantastic plot but this one is my new favourite of hers.
The main character of the series is Tilly, who pairs up with Loki and Thor to save the nine realms from devastation of Ragnarok. The whole cooperation was not planned. It was quite accidental but it provides Tilly with a much needed reprieve from the judgemental society and her secret colleagues. Because yes, she has a secret job, and the job is incredibly cool, although she is not adequately appreciated because she is a woman after all. Fortunately, Loki and Thor do not care about societal norms of Midgard and treat her as an equal.
The characters are beautifully developed and it is wonderful to observe how various inter-character relationships change, evolve, grow or break. I love the characters in this story, even the villains, because they are so well done.
I love everything about this story and I love this author so much. I know when I get her book that it’s going to be a fantastic read and she never disappoints, only gets better and more diverse and I love her more and more. I can’t wait for whatever she writes next!
Oh wow, I can’t start to name the ways I love this book… First of all: it is Kendra’s, everything she writes is pure gold. Second: it is steampunk!! What is not to love in steampunk? And third: Loki, Loki, Loki and finally a good side of Loki. This book will keep you hooked to its pages and with the adrenaline pumping from page one!! oh, and I need to say: I reaaaaaally hate Calvin!
Thor and Loki never looked better together than now!
I FREAKING LOVED IT!!! omg! Forget everything you think you know about these Gods because this baby will surprise you in the best possible way!! A unique story and so beautifully twisted you will be hooked! You will wish you read it sooner! I never like Loki so much till now! I love him so much it hurts! Follow Tillie, Loki and Thor in this bad ass adventure!
Tillie, Thor and Loki start an incredible adventure in Gears of Mischief. I love the steampunk aspects and the action. There’s not much I can say without spoilers, so I will just say that if you enjoy steampunk adventures or Norse mythology, you will LOVE this book.
Oh my gosh I loved this Tillie is a lady by day and a spy by night she stumbles upon a fight between some Gods and monsters so she becomes involved so she meets Thor and Loki and the other Gods and teams up to save the world this is Steampunk at it’s best it had me on the edge of my seat I did not want it to end. I love Kendra’s writing it gets better and better I absolutely cannot wait until the next one.
I received a copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion
I loved this book! There’s a debate going on in the author’s Facebook group over who’s the favorite, Loki or Thor. Well I’ll tell you, my favorite is Tilly. If I were to pick a heroine in a book to be, I’d want to be Tilly. She’s everything a super-heroine should be: confident, strong, fierce and has kick-ass ninja spy skills while at the same time being wholly down to earth. She doesn’t have any of the pitfalls that your typical human girl-in-a-paranormal world has. Not once was she annoying, not once did she say stupid stuff, or wait for anyone to rescue her. Hot Gods drop into her world? She deals and more importantly, doesn’t play hard to get. Elves try to kill her? Not so fast. A**hole ex hook up spy throws her under the bus? Yeah, she handles that too. Being the first book in a new series, it starts slow while we get the lay of the land, but builds steadily in intensity until you’re wide-eyed and have a death grip on your Kindle waiting to see how it ends. And it ends in a great place. No cliffhanger but plenty of interesting plot threads to look forward to and advance the story. As usual, great world and character building. Kendra Moreno has become an auto-buy author for me and I’m never disappointed. I’ll be looking forward to the next book in this exciting new series.
