Rule of reporting 101– don’t bang your subject.
Sophie Hall has just gotten the opportunity of a lifetime–to profile Nathan Ryder, the hottest baseball player since A-Rod, for her first solo assignment as a reporter. Rumor has it Nathan is going to be drafted to the Major league, and yet he still fits an intense training regime around volunteering at a animal shelter. He’s a prodigy with a … with a heart of gold, as American as apple pie and has an ass that deserves a trophy all its own. He may be the country’s heartthrob, but Sophie isn’t going to fall for that. She just has to remain objective and cover the story.
But she didn’t bet on Nathan’s gorgeous green eyes or the way his arms flex with muscle when he’s holding a bat. And she certainly didn’t think he’d be witty and smart and caring. Nathan is completely untouchable, but she can’t help it if those lingering gazes turn into something more. How could she not fall at the thought of the hottest guy she’s ever met devoting his limited free time to saving kittens?
When Sophie’s scoop turns into Nathan’s scandal, Nathan needs her more than ever. With both of their careers on the line will they strike out – or hit a home run?

Sophie never had the opportunity to go to college. She is passionate at sport and is looking for a breakthrough in her quest to be a journalist. She gets her shot to interview a soon to be college graduate set to enter the MBL.
Nathan hates the limelight and is not keen on interviews. He and Sophie have chemistry though, the interview trail might be cold but the feelings are getting hotter….
I really liked this one as a fun little rom com.
I do love a good sports romance .. Sophie & Nathan did not disappoint . Sophie is trying to make her way in a man’s world . The area of sports journalism has been routinely men but Sophie is out to prove herself and make a name! She has landed her first big assignment and he is one high profile player.
Nathan loves baseball and he is ceratinly good at it! Being interviewed is not uncommon for him to have the lovely and intriguing Sophie in front of him , that is new. Their chemsitry is immediate but Sophie will not be swayed by sweet talk she is there to get the job done and earn respect! When her story turns into more than anticipated she may have to prove herself and help Nathan in the process!
Loved their spark and story!

Great read panty dropping !
Just started reading. Haven’t finished yet, but enjoy what I’ve read thus far.
Baseball, Journalism and Romance
What a fun story! It had several layers of things going on at the same time. All of the sub-plots made this a surprisingly good story. While some of the plot was to be expected, getting there was more fun than the usual romance. One of the unexpected things about this novel was that I could identify with so much of the story. There are some humorous parts that made me laugh out loud. The story has a lot of sexual tension, but the actual sex could be skipped over without too much problem. This is not a cozy or sweet romance. I will be reading more of this author’s work.
3.75 bumped to 4 Awww, That Was So Sweet Stars. Yep, I’m a sucker for a good baseball romance. It’s almost post-season and I’m pretty sure we’re not going to have one. It’s rare that we don’t. But we won’t this year. We’re a team in the rebuilding phase and I know this, so I’m going to have to get my post-season through books.
Now, back to the review. Game On is about that rare pitcher who is drafted straight to the MLB after college. Nathan Ryder is about to graduate; he’s about to lead the Longhorns to win their final game of the season and clinching the most wins in a season. And that MLB contract for himself. Sophie Hall has been sent to Austin to interview Nathan. Nathan hates reporters. They have a chance meeting in a local bar the night before the interview and there are sparks flying. Both the good kind and the bad kind. From then on they play a cat and mouse game. In the end, the Register, the newspaper that Sophie works for, send a senior reporter to get the interview that Nathan won’t give Sophie. She knows Tim is a douchbag with no ethics or morals. She knows that Tim will get dirt on Nathan any way he can, won’t stop until he has it, and will go with it whether it’s true or not. Tim is exactly like the reporters that Nathan can’t stand; the ones that are only looking for their own career-changing story and to hell with anyone else. Sophie has to figure out a way to keep that from happening, but Nathan isn’t helping.
This is a cute and quick read. Lots of fun, a few laughs, and lots of fun characters. Nothing deep, pure brain candy.
