Corbin Gauthier never expected to play with the Baltimore Banners again, not when he’d been traded away in the league expansion eight years ago. Yet here he was, three teams and a lifetime later, back where he started as the hockey team’s goalie. And back to the one woman he’s never been able to forget—the one woman who is completely off-limits.Lori Evans isn’t the same young girl she’d been all … girl she’d been all those years ago when she first met the shy goalie. She’s older now, more mature and confident, with her feet planted firmly on the ground. Or so she thinks until Corbin shows back up. He’s not the same young man she’s dreamt of all these years: a little harder, more jaded, more cynical…and more tempting than ever. And he’s just as off-limits as before, maybe even more since her uncle is now the head coach for the Baltimore Banners.
At least, he’s supposed to be off-limits. Lori has other ideas—and she knows exactly what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. All she has to do is convince the straight-laced goalie that some things are worth drawing a penalty for—even if it means risking a chance of getting ejected from the biggest game of all.

Lisa B. Kamps is in the zone with GAME MISCONDUCT, the eleventh book in The Baltimore Banners series. Goalie, Corbin Gauthier, is traded back to the Baltimore Banners after eight years. He left behind the woman of his dreams that was off-limits to him, his teammate’s niece, Lori Evans. Now he’s back and Lori’s uncle, Ian Donovan, is his new coach. He wants to keep his distance from Lori, but she has other plans. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.
I really enjoyed with GAME MISCONDUCT. I like that the book started out with a prologue from eight years prior. It gave the reader a good sense of how the characters changed over that time. I like Corbin. He is a good guy, who does selfless things. He plans on staying away from Lori. This task is made a bit more difficult since she now works for the Banners as a digital media specialist.
The plot was skillfully executed with surprises and twists. I liked the scene on the farm with cow giving birth. I also appreciated the camaraderie of the Banners. There is an interesting scandal that occurs in the novel. It shows the true integrity of the main characters. I love the ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Game Misconduct is another book by Lisa B Kamps that hooks you from the first page and doesn’t let you go until the last. This 5 star read has you feeling emotions from the first sentence, and you’re left eagerly turning the pages to see if this couple finally get the future they deserve. They’re not the same people they were when they first knew each other, but their feelings haven’t changed, and this couple gives me hope that love always wins.
I feel that Lori grows in this book, as she finally makes a stand against her uncle who has never supported her and Corbin being together. Her uncle got what he wanted once, but she’s determined that it won’t happen a second time. Corbin was a sweet guy who always tried to do the right thing even if it wasn’t what he really wanted. I think his career was so important to him that he sacrificed his own happiness, but the regret and loss he felt was too much and he couldn’t deny what he wanted any longer. I just loved this couple from the start and their ‘reunion’ gave me goosebumps as you could feel the spark running between them by being so close to each other after so long. This has to be one of my favourite scenes from the book!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book and all opinions are my own
Lisa B. Kamps is an automatic read whenever she releases a book. Game Misconduct, the eleventh book in her Baltimore Banners Series, did not disappoint! If you haven’t discovered Ms. Kamps, you are in for a treat! Best thing—you can binge read the previous ten books. Each stands alone—no cliffhangers!
Love any book that contains hockey, well almost any. This one certainly didn’t disappoint for sure. The one that ran away, is back. And what a fun time he had while he was away, marriage, divorce, engagement, and pretty much any woman he could get his hands on. At least that is what the public was shown in the tabloids! But behind all that was the love for the one he left behind! So cute, and the ups and downs and back and forth just added to the turmoil. My favorite part was in the barn! Lord that was hysterical! Loved pretty much all of it really!
Boy what a roller coaster of emotion this book was!
Lisa B. Kamps has done it again. The latest book in the Baltimore Banners series does not disappoint. Yes the series is based on a hockey team, but it’s so much more. The author ties in hockey elements while focusing in on the personal lives of the players.
In goalie Corbin Gauthier’s story Lisa gives us some insight to the past – when Corbin was determined to keep Lori as only a friend. Even after 8 years apart Corbin is determined to do what he thinks is right.
Corbin is a protector. Whether he’s protecting the goal or the woman he loves, Corbin will do whatever he thinks is right to protect what’s important to him – even if it may cost him his own happiness.
This second chance sport romance will have you cheering for Corbin and Lori from the very beginning.
This story is about the universe aligning to give Corbin and Lori a second chance at love. I am calling it a second chance but technically it really just wasn’t the right time for them all those years ago when they were both so young. But now the time is right and boy was it worth the wait. Corbin and Lori are so good for each other and they totally belong together. It was awesome to watch them fall in love or maybe just realize the feelings that have always been there even during their years apart. It certainly wasn’t easy; there are definitely some forces conspiring against them but they get through it. Lori steps up big time to prove her man is not what people think he is because of lies. Corbin is so genuine and sweet I really felt for him during all of this.
I love this series and am always so satisfied after finishing each book and this one is no exception. What a wonderful epilogue!
Game Misconduct is the next in the Baltimore Banners series and as always Lisa B. Kamps has written another wonderful hockey romance! This story also brought up the tough subject of assault. While many assault claims are true, this story brought up how some can abuse the system and ruin someone’s life. She brings up both sides of the argument and the differences in perception that are brought on by the manipulation of social media.
Corbin and Lori were meant to be, but it was not their time eight years ago when they first knew each other. He was traded to another team and now Corbin is back. They have both tried to move on, but it didn’t work for either of them.
Somethings are worth the wait and the connection that Lori and Corbin had is still there, even with all the hurdles they had to overcome. This is now their time.
I sure enjoyed Corbin and Lori’s story. Even over time and space, the heart wants what the heart wants. BUT some things never change, the present added to the mix and then there was a HUGE occurrence that I didn’t see coming. It’s a reminder to always learn the facts, there’s always more to a story than what’s presented and lies, even good lies can hurt, irreparably.
Reading about a player for the Baltimore Banners Hockey team was like coming home and it was exactly what I needed this week! Great addition to this series! *NO cliffhangers involved*
Another great addition to the Baltimore Banners series!
This is a series that always brings something fresh to each new story…yes it revolves around hockey but additionally brings to life the personal story behind each player. This time it is goalie Corbin Gauthier and Lori Evans’ story.
Corbin has been away from the Banners for 8 years. Before leaving the Banners, Ian Donovan (who is now the Banners’ head coach) had continually threatened Corbin, warning him away from Lori, who is his niece. (As an aside, we never learn why Ian was so against Corbin being involved with Lori…). Upon returning, he comes face-to-face with Lori, the one woman he’s never been able to forget.
Lori has never forgotten Corbin, even though he left without a goodbye. She has grown up and doesn’t consider Corbin off limits.
But when drama erupts, how far will Corbin go to protect Lori?
This is a wonderful second chance love story. Will Lori be able to convince Corbin (and her uncle, for that matter), that she’s an adult and can make her own decisions? How will the drama in the story effect their relationship?
I’ve said this before about other stories in this series and it is true again, whether you are a hockey fan or not, you will enjoy this one!
