Pitcher Aiden Kyle knows the Triple Play Curse has the ability to mess with his life and with his team’s performance. And, now that the curse has been triggered, Aiden also knows he has to do all he can to avoid being its next victim. And that means strippers and hand lotion in the shower for the rest of the season for him. Until Lily Dupree whirls into his world with a crash that puts a kink in … in his plan. If Aiden can find a way to help Lily and get her out of his life, he just might avoid being the next victim of the curse.
The Triple Play Curse
Every member of the Strikers, San Francisco’s professional baseball team, knows about the Triple Play Curse. When one Striker falls in love and gets either married or engaged during the season, two more will fall for a total of three. And, whenever the curse is in play, the team suffers for it. More errors and injuries, lost pennant runs, you name it. No one wants to trigger the curse.
Book One: Game Changer
Book Two: Game Maker
Book Three: Game Clincher
Each book in the series is a standalone plot with no cliffhangers. The series can be read in any order but readers may enjoy it best read from book one through three. These books were previously published under the same title as part of Bella Andre’s Game for Love World.

I love this book. This is the second novella in the series and is a quick easy read. The characters are well developed and the book keeps you hooked. This is a good book for sitting on the front porch and reading for some time alone. This can be read as a standalone or in order. I am a huge fan of Lori’s books, she never disappoints.
Another great book in this series. Loved getting to know Aiden and Lily and I really enjoyed their story. Lily fit right in with Aiden’s baseball world and friends and I liked how everything came together. Sure there was a bump or two and of course the curse didn’t help matters, but when it comes to love it will persevere. I also really liked how Aiden not only got support from Kane and Rafe but also Elise and Ashlyn as well. Totally loved the ending. I can’t wait to see who’s next and is our third and final ‘victim’ to the curse.
This is the second installment in this trio and another one bites the dust when Aiden, a pitcher for the team, ends up intrigued by a woman he meets at a strip club (of all places). He is sure she doesn’t belong there and after talking with her is convinced. Lily is a dietitian by trade and starting her own company delivering meals. Just what a health conscious athlete needs and Aiden not only helps out her business but soon they start a fling “just for fun” until it turns into more. Who will be next?
The triple play curse is in effect. Aiden Kyle swears he won’t be a victim. Lily Dupree enters the picture. Aiden helps her out and they have some fun. Their romance gets more involved then Aiden wants and he balks. This is a great short story to read. You’ll have to read to see if Aiden becomes victim number two. I received a copy and am voluntarily giving my review.
This is such a fun, short and sizzling series. My train commute to and from work is plenty of time to finish it. Aiden is the next sportsman to fall for his perfect match. He’s in denial but love is inevitable, the chemistry is hot. Loved it, off to book 3 now.
I received a copy of this book through BookFunnel and I chose to review it. I enjoyed this book and I am not a big sports book fan but this one was good. It is the second in this series. These are worth your time and effort. This book is well written and I enjoyed the characters. Give it a chance. Lori Ryan is a favorite author of mine, she is great.
Game Maker is my favorite of this series! This book held my attention from the very beginning and I enjoyed every minute of Aiden and Lily’s story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a great quick read. A nice read during lunch or just if you need a break in the afternoon. While you don’t have to read the first book in the series to read this one, I would highly recommend it.
Aiden is a pitcher for the San Francisco Strikers, he doesn’t do relationships especially during the season. The players believe in a Triple Play Curse. If a player falls in love, two additional players will as well or the team will suffer for it. Aiden loves the benefits of being a pitcher, the gorgeous women that throw themselves at a professional ballplayer that is. Lily is working a second job at a strip club as a waitress. Well at least she tries. She is a klutz with a capital K! If fact, she spills a tray of drinks all over Aiden on her second night. The rest of the journey to their HEA is a fun one.
The plot is well written. I just spotted a few grammatical errors nothing egregious. The characters were fun to read about especially Aiden with his commitment phobia. I loved the dual POV format and seeing how these two characters were really dealing with the situations that they found themselves in.
There were several scenes that I would classify this book for people over the age of 18. It was nothing of erotica in nature but it may offend some.
Game Maker: Fantastic writing and wonderful characters! I loved how Aiden stood up for her in the club. He is any women’s dream man. I liked how he would do anything to help Lily keep her business. That real love. It was a wonderful story. Loved how she was a nutritionist for people whether they were wealthy or middle class. I like how wanted to really help people.
Lori Ryan has another hit with Game Maker. Lily and Aiden fought the curse, and they fell in love anyway. You will fall fir them too. Game Maker is a fast read that is full of emotions. Two players have their happy ending. Who will be the third? I can’t wait to find out.
The Triple Play Curse is now in play. Everyone knows how superstitious baseball players are. Anything out of the ordinary had them overthinking every action. Aiden is determined that the next to fall is not going to be him. He’s determined to stay focused, in shape & on point this year. So why does a nervous, awkward cocktail waitress catch his interest? Why is her so determined to helping her out so she can quit this job?
Lily is down on her luck. By miscalculating her startup expenses for her business, she’s short of cash. Working as a cocktail waitress, even an inept one, for a short time should get her back on track. She didn’t expect Aiden to take an interest & sign up for her meal service. He even convinced several others to do the same. When exactly did her feelings for him start to deepen?
I really enjoy these novellas from Ms. Ryan. They are short, entertaining stories that are quick to read. The baseball players look after each other even as they constantly poke at each other. I love the way they all buy into the Curse when they make everything worse by trying not to fall in love. The characters are realistic & very likable.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of GAME MAKER . I really enjoyed reading this story . It’s Interesting and delightful very entertaining . The dreaded curse is activated for the San Francisco Strikers thanks to Rafe Wilson . Who
Will be the next player to fall . Aiden Kyle swears it won’t be him he’s gonna avoid woman atleast that’s the plan till Lily Dupree dumps a tray of drinks in his lap . It’s hard to resist .
I really love this series of novellas .
Very enjoyable . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .
Sweet, quick read. I enjoyed Aiden & Lily’s quick romance.
Now that Rafe has initiated ‘The Curse’ the team is wondering who will fall next. Aiden wants to be sure it isn’t him and decides no dating at all.
Lily is a nutritionist with a financial problem. She’s working at a Strip Club as a waitress for a few months to straighten everything out. Known for being a bit of a klutz she is having difficulty carrying the trays the way the establishment requires. Straight armed over her head is just disaster waiting to happen. However that is how she meets Aiden.
To be sure she doesn’t get fired anyway, Aiden goes to the club every night after the game. Realizing he couldn’t keep that up, he has a conversation with her as to why she’s working there and makes a startling discovery. He can help her get out of that place very simply by asking a few favors of his team, getting her more business. Of course staying away from her was harder than he thought, she had gotten under his skin.
I loved the slow build of this relationship, and I laughed at some of the antics. This book was romantic, fun and eventually sizzling.
Change is Good
Aiden expects his life to go one way but little did he know that spilled drinks when give him the best change to his life.
Lily is a Midwest girl that followed an old boyfriend to Cali before figuring out that she needed her own identity from what he planned.
It’s kind of funny how these two meet and how they are thinking different plans. When life throws you a curveball you will either hit it or miss out on the best thing that could happen to you.
Each story has been a delight to read.
I have read and reviewed this book voluntarily without obligation to any author or publishing company.
A fast paced, short read.
Lily and Aidan were a sweet couple that seemed to have good chemistry. Both of their characters were likable. I enjoyed the descriptions of the food Lily made.
This was such a short read, it was over before I was ready for it to end.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy.
I received an advanced copy of this book. This is the second book in this series. In this book, Aiden is a pitcher for the Striker baseball team. The team seems to have a “curse”, when one of the team gets engaged or married, then 3 of them have to. So far, their shortstop, Rafe has. Now, it seems it’s Aiden’s turn. When he meets Lily at a gentleman’s club, he knows that he has to get her out of there & help get her food business off the ground. Will the sparks that he feels get in the way? Will the “curse” get in the way? This is another great hot romance in this series!
Game Maker, is an engaging & sexy
romance. I enjoyed reading it from
the first pages to the last.
Aiden, is a super star pitcher. With his good friend recently getting engaged,
the team is superstitious about the “curse” of the ballplayers, falling in love.
Lily, started her own business.
She got in a little bit financial trouble.
She’s working as a waitresse at a strip club, to get caught up.
But everything changed for Lily, after dumping a tray of drinks on Aiden.
Another great book in the series!
I loved everything about this Must
Read Story!!
Lily Dupree knows that waitressing at the gentlemen’s club is the only way to earn enough money to rescue her business creating custom meals for clients with specific nutritional needs. When she drops a tray of drinks on pro baseball pitcher Aiden Kyle, she knows she will be fired. Aiden sticks up for her, but then realizes that he is at the club to avoid single women and the Triple Play Curse. The Curse occurs when during the season men on the team seem to find “the one” which means disaster for the team. To avoid Lily, he offers to help her get the clients she needs for her business so she can quit her job at the club…and be out of his life. He does everything to avoid Lily, but it seems that he is too late. This was a truly delightful and fun read with Aiden fighting what he feels for Lily and Lily never expecting that Aiden could possibly be serious about her. A really enjoyable second book and I look forward to the next book in the series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
We are back with the Strikers, a professional baseball team that believes in the Triple Play Curse. A curse that gets triggered when one player falls in love, and two other follow. That domino effect can cost them a win and the pennant. Now that Rafe, from book 1 , started the “falling in love”, the rest of the team, especially Aiden Kyle, are determined to keep themselves from temptation.
But when Aiden sees a young woman, Lily, working in a place she shouldn’t, he’s determined to help her. Little did he know that in doing so, both their lives would be turned upside down.
This is another sweet, and fun novella . Few authors can pull an engaging plot in just a few pages, and this author is one of the talented few.
Looking forward to the third player that completes the “Triple Play Curse”.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
