A MUST READ!! What a fantastic story with a difference. It’s not another boy meets girl and lives happily ever after. It shows the ups and downs of life and how things aren’t always perfect.
I just finished the Lisa Millar series last year, and I was a huge fan. Now, we have in our hands the story told from AJ’s POV. I knew their love story and the twists and turns involved. It was nice to experience it from AJ’s perspective.
AJ and Lisa are a perfect match even if she lives across the ocean. However, AJ is hiding a secret, and it’s a big one! If you read the first series, you already know what the secret is. I like seeing it from his POV. I was quite mad at him in the Lisa Millar series, but seeing him in this book makes me have some sympathy for him. There is no doubt in my mind that he loves Lisa, but the timing of their relationship didn’t exactly happen at the right time. Again, that factor made me really feel for him and his predicament.
I also got to see a more in-depth look into his personality and what made him tick. Yes, he made mistakes, but I definitely wasn’t as mad at him for those in this book as I was in the previous series. I’m really looking forward to reading more in the series and getting both sides of their story!
I recieved this book from the author as an ARC for a honest review.
I loved it. I cant wait for more.
If you like sport books and happy books this is your books.
I believe everyone should read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
In this story, college hockey defenseman, AJ Williams meets a girl from Northern Ireland, Lisa Millar, over the Internet; sort of a blind date set up by friends. They totally hit it off and become enamored with one another. However, AJ has been keeping a secret from Lisa, which she discovers on a surprise visit to Alabama to meet AJ.
I frequently found the book to be confusing. It often took getting through a paragraph until you knew who was speaking. The story didn’t always flow well. When I was at about 45% of the book, I almost gave up reading it, but decided to work through it. It did get better. An unexpected outcome happened in the story that held my interest.
At the end of the novel, I read the author’s notes and discovered that this was not the initial book to tell AJ and Lisa’s story. If I read the other books first, I may have felt differently and not have been as confused with the writing. I did like the concept of the novel. I am curious about the other books in the series. I will probably pick up the first book, Intimate Strangers and start the books in the proper order. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
