Up until two years ago, I was living large and my life’s priorities were anchored to three things – my NBA stardom, money and celebrity.I was also a colossal dick.Until one night turned my world upside down and I suffered unspeakable loss. That event changed the man I was and made me a widowed-single father. Now I’m a desperate parent trying to raise my special needs son and find him a trustworthy … needs son and find him a trustworthy live-in nanny.
Grad student Brooklyn Hayes may be the one, with her single-minded focus on caring for my son and finishing her Master’s degree. She’s the perfect fit for our needs.
Maybe too perfect…with her bright smile, nurturing kindness and gentle touch. Caleb isn’t the only one who’s fallen for her.
I don’t know when or how it happened, but she changed the game for me. Turning my losing streak into a winning second-half.

Game Changer is the first book in the Change of Hearts series and my first book by this author. My heart broke for Garret and his son Caleb, then he meets and hires Brooklyn as his new nanny. I loved how Brooklyn and Caleb bond and how his progress improves with her help. Caleb will definitely steal your heart. Garret and Brooklyn have such a chemistry that it steams up the pages. This is a heart wrenching and touching story and one I recommend.
11 hours! 11 HOURS PEOPLE!!! I started this book 11 hours ago! I could not put it down. I growled at my husband for making me get up to help cook dinner. My heart is still recovering from so many things that this book threw at me! Garrett is a single dad to a child with special needs son…. Brooklyn is the woman that comes in to help take care of Caleb. ( I am sorry if this seems a bit off because I am still trying to gather my feelings as I type) The story that these 3 create is noting short of spectacular! My hands are still shaking!! That is how shaken I was by this book. There was one line that just killed me. KILLED ME!!! And when you all get to it you will know which one it is! I have read the other reviews, so I was not expecting this book to hit me so hard! This book was absolutely phenomenal! Sierra Hill has this way of pulling me into the story, like I am actually in it as one of the characters watching everyone’s stories unfold! I felt so connected to these people. Like they were my friends and family! I cried on more than one occasion! Gahhhhh! I know this review is not at all doing this book justice because I am having the hardest time getting all my thoughts and feeling together, but at the same time that is one of the highest compliments from me because that means the author has made me feel so much and pulled me so far into the story that reality is not coming back to me very quickly! So I will go now….. know this book was insanely awesome! If there was a way to give it more than 5 stars I totally would! Go get it now so you can read it and fall in love with Garrett and Brooklyn!
Sierra Hill always writes stories that come from her heart and her latest book left me teary-eyed, hopeful and thankful that she had given us such an awe-inspiring story.
Garrett and Caleb are as close as a father and son can be which has helped Garrett’s goal to always put his son first and to do his best to care for him. He loves his coaching job and his young players are eager to learn, but sometimes his days seem too long and stressful. Even when he is working, he is thinking about Caleb and worrying about the future. The minute he saw Brooklyn, he felt a spark he thought had been diminished forever, and he didn’t know what to do about it. She was there to care for Caleb, help him with his studies, and offer him comfort and love. Brooklyn could never be part of Garrett’s life because there wasn’t any room in his heart for romance. Caleb was his top priority and Garrett would not jeopardize the health of his son by becoming romantically involved with Brooklyn. No matter how sweet and beautiful she was, he had to keep his hands to himself. Even if it drove him crazy. Brooklyn was the angel he had prayed for to help Caleb become the boy he was always meant to be, and he would always be grateful that she came into their lives.
Loved the book. He is an NBA retired superstar now coaching. His wife was killed in a car crash that left his small child with brain damage. He hires a psy grad student as a nanny to help him with the child. This was different from most books. May have given it 5 stars if there wasn’t so much graphic “fill in” sex. Too much!
This book was a beautiful surprise!
I loved this book, I totally loved it. I’ve heard really good things about it, but still I wasn’t prepared for what I saw.
At first, when you read the blurb, you have this impression that this is another single/dad-nanny romance, and yes, this is the trope. But, oh boy, it’s also so much more.
This showed depth, consistency, and such a solid plot. The characters were complex, they weren’t just steriotypes. Of course there were some common traits in them, but they were more than what you get at the surface, it was beautiful.
I developed a huge girl cruh on Brooklyn. She was wonderful! Confident, but not arrogant; independent, yet vulnerable; she knew what she wanted and she was respectful of her own goals and life, but also opening space for both Garrett and Caleb. She didn’t lose herself to them (she was adamant about that), but she was also givind and nurturing, willing to grow and contribute, not only with Caleb’s care, but about their lives.
She was so mature, powerful, she considered all the important topics, never loosing sight of herself, but always creating room for the two guys she fell in love so deeply.
Garrett is this bookboyfriend you might carry through life. Haunted, hard worker, a grieving, sexy single father, totally devoted to his kid, afraid to love again, but incapable of keeping distance of the marvelous woman in his life.
He was so supportive and respectful, and even though he made mistakes along the way, he was always ready to ask for forgiveness, and that is such a powerful thing that we don’t see much, in either books or real life.
He always prioritized his son and it wonderful seeing them together. My heart melted everytime he showed what it is like to be a father, a real one, during good times and during hard times.
Their dialogues and thoughts were realistic. They showed weakness and resilience in such an exquisite way.
They were explosive together and they were also equal partners. They had intense and scorching chemistry, and they fought side by side.
And I couldn’t leave here withou talkig about Caleb. He totally conquered my heart and he did it so damn easily. A little warrior, a fighter, an overachiever in such a young age. The way his situation was described was so sensitive and beautiful. In a way, I know first hand about this scenario.
I couldn’t get enough of his overcomings and I loved how this was a big part of the book. The way Brooklyn, Garrett and specially Caleb was canalizing their energies for that, and how every little step was a victory or a step to be overcome was a sight to behold.
I feel like I have so many more words about this book, but I can’t seem to find them.
All I say to sum up is that I started reading this book for entertainment, but I got much more than what I bargained for. I feel empowered and with my heart full of hope and love.
Simply loved it.
“Game Changer” by Sierra Hill is a delicious read. It’s a:
Delicious Sports Romance
Sexy Single dad
Naughty Nanny
Forbidden romance read.
You will love reading Garrett and Brooklyn’s love story. TBR and enjoy.
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Garrett, Brooklyn and Caleb. Brooklyn is a young woman getting ready to start grad school and is looking for a job. Garrett is an ex NBA player who lost his wife in an accident that also left his son Caleb with brain trauma. So when another assistant coach suggest Brooklyn as a nanny, Garrett reluctantly gives her an interview. Garrett has had a rough past, including the one night stand that resulted in Caleb still haunting him. When things heat up between Brooklyn and Garrett she wonders if it’s a stress release or something else. Both develop feelings but are afraid to believe in them at first. Great HEA with lots of lessons learned. Love the growth of Caleb throughout the story.

This was a great read I enjoyed the well developed and engaging characters and the storyline flowed smoothly from the beginning to the end.

Sierra did a great job with this book. Garret and Brooklyn are cute together in the cliche of a man falling for the nanny. The chemistry between Garrett and Brooklyn is very steamy and helps chance their minds about what they want. Add in drama of a nosy mom, a disable child, and a couple of twists and you have a interesting book!

This was my first book to have read by Sierra Hill. I absolutely loved it and she will be added to my favorites. She had such a way of bringing out the emotions in every charachter. I literally laughed, cried, and bit my nails as I could not put this book down. I usually write about what a book is about, but this one just needs 2 words. MUST READ!

Game Changer was so much more than what I expected. This book has all the feels, and seriously, I felt like I knew the characters and was right there with them. Garrett was an NBA player and had everything, until a car accident took his wife and left his son, Caleb with a traumatic brain injury. Garrett is now an assistant coach at a university, and Caleb is his main focus. His nanny has retired so he is looking for a nanny for the summer. Brooklyn is a grad student studying child development and has an afinity to special needs children, since her brother is autistic. She applies for the job, and she feels sparks for Coach Parker, but wants to be professional. Garrett is not looking for love and really his heart can’t let anyone in….but he feels a strong attraction to Brooklyn. She melds into his and Caleb’s lives like she was always with them. Also the progress Caleb makes under her tutelage is phenomenal. There is a quote by Garrett in the book that was amazing. Garrett’s past comes back to haunt him in Penelope, and his mother not understanding his point of view was sad. Will the attraction and chemistry between Brooklyn and Garrett be enough to hold them together? Can Garrett let go of his past to move forward in his own life? Can Brooklyn forget things her mother has drilled in her about men? You need to read and find out. Garrett’s confession toward the end is a definite game changer, and oh the ending was amazing. I so look forward to reading more of this series, and reading the one that this is a spinoff from. I am a definite Sierra Hill fan after this book. Thank you for giving us such an amazing character in Garrett….he may have been handsome, but it also showed that we all have things we need to work on and forgive ourselves for so that we can find love and achieve what we are meant to.
OMFG!! GAME CHANGER by Sierra Hill left me Freakn SPEECHLESS!! SPEECHLESS!!
Gah!! Sierra Hill BLEW ME AWAY with this One and She Had me wanting throw my tablet across the room at times with the characters mindsets.
Garrett is a single Dad with a special need son and hires a young woman Brooklyn to care for him. But she goes above and beyond to care for Caleb which he quickly bonds with her.
Garrett and Brooklyn sometimes don’t see eye to eye on certain things but trusts one another what’s best for Caleb. But lines between boss and employer becomes crossed to finally admit their there is chemistry between the two characters. And OMG!! So OFF THE CHARTS Hot with their Banter plus the struggle with one another on their feelings on what each are thinking.
GAME CHANGER is So Beautifully Written and Entertaining at the same time!!
My heart is NOT THE SAME after finishing this book in ONE Sitting since it is So Uniquely Different!
This was such a good book. Awesome characters loved that one was a special needs child. It was so well written, age gap and a page turner. I loved this book.
A very emotional book. Caleb is the sweetest thing ever. The things that he when though and still keeps on fighting is amazing. Must read.
Game Changer pulls at all your heartstrings, which is why it’s taken me all day to find the right words to spur you to one-click this book. The development of the story and the characters was perfection making so I couldn’t put the book down. It’s a sweet read that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. ~ Piper Rayne
Love reading Garrett story he definitely hasn’t have it easy being a single parent and raise his special needs child. He just has so much on his shoulders but along comes Brooklyn she is his one safe haven that he never thought he deserves or needed in his life. It was definitely heartwarming and sweet reading Garrett story.
AMAZING!
Garret Parker is a single widowed father to young Caleb. Their lives were changed irrevocably one night by a car accident that took his wife, best dog and hurt his son. He is trying to put the pieces of his life back together, getting Caleb the help he needs and to be better. But he never expected Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Hayes is a grad student who needs a summer job. She works with children who have disabilities because of her own experiences with her brother. When she meets Coach Parker and son Caleb she can’t help but be drawn to the sexy man who is a wonderful father. And then her heart falls victim to the dynamic duo and she can’t imagine life without them. But will her mother’s words stop her from being happy?
This book is amazing. It is about finding yourself, realizing what’s right in front of you, and most of all love. It was great and I loved every second that I read it.
Brooklyn is a Grad student working on her Master’s degree. Garrett the basketball coach and a single dad to Caleb. Caleb has special needs. Garrett is in need of a nanny for a summer. Brooklyn fits their needs for a nanny perfectly. She gets along great with Caleb. Her and Garrett have a great connection too. Garrett is dealing with a lot of things and isn’t looking fro a relationship. Things with Brooklyn start off slowly. I don’t think either know how much the other was sweeping into their heart. This one is heart string puller that I enjoyed reading.
Oh Wow! Get the tissues ready for this fantastic book. It had me laughing and crying and wanting to knock some sense into both of the main characters. Garret had a pro basketball career until he lost his wife in a tragic accident and his son was left with a traumatic brain injury. Garret is now an assistant coach at a university and he needs a nanny for the summer and Brooklyn has been recommended by a friend. She has an autistic brother and is studying how to help children with developmental disabilities and is studying for her masters degree. She is working out great but they are both fighting a huge attraction to each other. This book also has a nosy bff and a gay bff, an interfering obnoxious mother, a stalker and some super hot steamy scenes. This is a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Game Changer is the first book in the Change of Hearts series and this book will capture your heart and hold it hostage. This is no ordinary single dad/nanny romance this one is a game changer. It is heart wrenching, touching, moving and seriously affecting. Your anxiety will be high at times, tears will form but it will all be worth it for the happiness their story will bring to your soul. Garrett and Brooklyn have a chemistry that sparks off the pages and heats you from your fingertips to your toes. Caleb will steal your heart with so little effort and have you falling in love with this character. An all round beautifully written story that will take you on a journey of love that is worth putting yourself second for.
