Gabriel Booth knew how his life was going to go.First, he was going to follow in his father’s footsteps, become a soldier in the Australian Army, then lead his own commando team. His dreams and ambitions came true when he got handed the command of his own Tier 1 unit— Team FIVE. After that, he wanted nothing more than to find that one special woman to share the same deep soul love and devotion … devotion his parents had. All his life, Gabriel watched his parents, saw the connection they had together, and wanted the same thing for himself.
That came true the day he came across a petite Pixie on a sand dune. With just one look at the stunning tiny woman, his world shifted, and the ache of wanting to be part of something special eased.
Devon Mercy never had it easy.
At the tender age of five, she lost her mother in horrible circumstances, yet on the same day, there was even more trauma to rock her and her family, changing their lives forever.
Her whole life had been a lonely battle. The love of her mother now gone as well as the support of her grief-stricken father. All she had were three overbearing brothers and a wish to be loved and cherished.
Then, she met Gabriel. Suddenly, she thought it was finally her time! Someone who loved her, wanted to spend time with her.
Just her.
Of course, life was never as easy as you wanted. Gabriel and Devon’s road was never going to be easy. His dangerous job and Devon’s secret just two obstacles in their way. The only problem was whose is more destructive? And can it be overcome before one walked away for good?

Oh. My. Freaking. Melting. Heart! Literally, I am sat here swooning so freaking hard! Gabriel is his father’s son in so many ways!
I put my kindle down last night at about 70% of the way through this book (I had work, today. Adulting sucks!). Any who! This book stayed with me throughout the day and last night! I could not wait to get home to finish it. And damn it was worth the wait!!
Gabriel, holy shit this man!!! I have no words! And Pixie, God damn! The two of them together! I absolutely loved this book and to be back with the OGs too, was just magnificent!!
Can’t wait to catch up with the rest of this series, to date!
HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS!
I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVED IT! I’m head over heals in love with Gabriel! Lol! I have to laugh because I say that alot. I have so many book boyfriends that my spank bank is full for the year. Lmao! Devon is so sweet and absolutely hilarious. I laughed til I had tears in my eyes when she goes off in her head and just starts rambling and spitting out whatever comes into her mind and when she calls Gabriel Ninja man. She is just so cute I adore her character. But the funniest thing was when Gabriel and Bastian started reminiscing about the trouble Shiloh used to get them into and Gabe said she used to threaten them that Darf was gonna try them up I just about died laughing. Then he says they didn’t really know if a ghost could do that or not so they went along with whatever she wanted. LMAO! I knew instantly that I was gonna love this book and that this series is gonna be great because the Wounded Souls was phenomenal. This is a really sweet love at first sight love story. I loved every minute of it. I absolutely hated Devon’s brothers, the horrible things they said to her had my heart breaking for her especially after everything she’d been through and had me hoping Shiloh would have kicked at least one of thems @ss or scared the bejeezes out of them, especially Kyle. I was hoping Devon would patch things up with her father. At times the suspense of the guys being away at war was kind of nerve racking not knowing if someone was gonna get hurt or worse. The love that these two have for each other was so overwhelmingly heartwarming my heart was bursting with Awwe moments. I can’t wait anymore I have got to start Bastian’s book. I extremely recommend this book to everyone
Can I just say now how thrilled I am that Leah chose to give us the next generation of the Wounded Souls because I am beyond thrilled. I loved and hung on each and every word of the Wounded Souls series and this one started out beautifully.
Gabriel and Devon’s story is going to win you over. I had no idea it would play out like it did and boy was it a heart warming story. Getting there isn’t easy. Devon hasn’t had an easy life and she is in need of a loving family and Gabriel and the Wounded Souls are just perfect for that.
You are going to be hooked to this story and eager for more. I can’t wait to get the next one in this series. This is definitely a must read!!
Wow, what another amazing story Leah Sharelle. I really enjoyed this book. It played with my emotions a bit. And it was nice to see a grown up Gabriel.
I loved Gabriel and Devon together, they fit so together. And loved that how everyone helped Devon.
I really can’t wait for more of this series.
Loving the continuation of the Wounded Souls MC! I was so excited to find out that Leah was continuing the series and the Wounded Souls MC characters with the next generation. After reading Shiloh’s story, I couldn’t wait to see how the rest of the next generation ended up and this story was the start of that and didn’t disappoint! We see Gabriel follow in his father’s footsteps with his career, and much like his father as well, when he meets Devon and his world is turned. The character of Devon was so intriguing to me and I loved her! The combination of trauma and tragedy in her life makes her exhibit the strong behaviors and mentality that push her through and keep her going. When she meets Gabriel, her life changes and she goes from surviving to actually living and it’s amazing to read. It was crazy the way Devon’s family reacts to her spreading her wings and Gabriel was really the best thing for her to not only help her but also support her and her independence. Overall, I loved the book and the storyline, although I did feel the ending was a little abrupt and wanted more! I can’t wait for the next book though!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
We absolutely loved this story from beginning to end and everything in between.I am so glad that the author decided to do a next generation series as we hated leaving the characters of the Wounded Souls behind as they are all embedded in our heart and we miss them so much.
One thing that comes to mind is that Gabe is his fathers son in all the ways that count. We loved Gabriel and that he wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps but, one thing is for sure is that his father is a bit of a legend and he is determined to create his own with shear hard work and fierce determination.
I love how close the Wounded Soul kids are with one another and how they love their families so deeply it makes you heart sing and even though now the founding members children of that charter are sitting at the table now the presence of Booth,Deck,Mannix,Steel and Creed is still very much alive.
We love to that we got to see a glimpse of all our favorite characters and to see that those amazing men are still so much in love with their women decades gone by.We miss the Flock ! Lol
Leave it to Gabriel to fall for a women who comes with a whole lot of complications but, one thing was sure was that from one chance meeting with Devon he new from the onset that he had met his one and only. I loved the nickname that he gave Devon as it was just perfect for her and we loved hearing it come off those sexy lips of his.
Gabe was one of those characters that you fell instantly in love with and for us it was just that way.I loved everything about that man from his duty and honor but, was his big old heart that made us fall and fall hard for him.
Devon was one of those characters that your heart went out to time and time again as she experienced so much pain and suffering for someone so young and even though she has been trying to deal with her past and feelings she is still struggling but, once meeting Gabe for the first time in a really long time she feels protected and loved and no longer lonely.
We loved Devon’ s and Gabe’s story as it was heartfelt and emotional and messy and they had some really great chemistry but, also a love that would stand the test of time.
” We are loving the fact that we are falling as fast and as hard in love with the offspring of the Wounded Souls as we did with the fathers…..”
5 amazing stars from us
The Wounded Sons is a new series with the grown children of The Wounded Souls. It is going to be just as fantastic with Gabrial starting us out.
Gabriel leads the team his father led in the Australian Army. Not just any team but the go-to-guys when no one else can get the job done. Danger doesn’t enter in their thoughts they are out to do what is necessary for their country. Now that he has reached his professional goal, he’s ready to work on his personal life. He wants what his parents have (even though he’d rather not witness their still hot romance). His dad and the rest of his team started the Wounded Souls MC when they left the military
Devon hasn’t had much romance or love of any kind in her life. She witnessed her mother’s horrible death in an accident and then found out she had a serious illness that kept her from living a normal life. A life that never seems to change with her family of men who baby her but doesn’t know how to show love. She wants more.
Meeting the two hit it off instantly. Gabriel finds her motor-mouth endearing as well as her beauty. He’s willing to take it slow and see where it takes them. She’s delighted a man can put up with her wandering mouth and seems interested–a really hot man interested in her–oh yeah!
The more we learn about Devon the more the reader falls for her and what female could read about Gabe, see that hot cover, and not fall for him. The two are some of the best characters I’ve ever read about and will be putting this on re-read again and again list.
The club takes Devon under their wing when Gabriel and the team are called out. When they learn her secrets and the life she has lived questions about the relationship arise. Will those secrets and his job separate the two of them or is their love strong enough to take them through?
I loved the visits with the characters of the previous series. Those characters are introduced in a way that even new readers can enjoy them and understand their place in the couple’s life and past. There’s plenty of humor, some angst, steam, and love everyone wishes for themselves.
Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Have you ever read book 1 of a series and just know you’re gonna love it? Well after reading Gabriel’s story I knew that very thing. Of course I have read the entire 1st generation of the Wounded Souls series (the WoundedSons is of course their kids – but can be read without reading the first series). The author has done an amazing job of bringing the kids into the fold. The book is well written with lots of laughs, suspense, adventure and romance. And I can’t wait for more of the Wounded sons to hit the shelves.
Gabriel has always wanted to lead a special forces unit, just like his father, ever since he could remember. He joined the service right out of High School, working his way up. He now leads the Tier 1 unit – Team FIVE, just like his father. The team is the best of the best and Gabriel is living the life he’s always wanted. But when he sees one little Pixie of a woman walking dogs down the street, his life is forever changed. As for Devon, the Pixie of a woman, she has had a really rough, debilitating childhood. Her path has not been an easy one. But one chance meeting on the side of the road, not only makes her day, but it gives her hope that someone just might see her as normal. But when lies happen, people turn to vultures and long deployments all come into play, can these two possibly survive with their new found attraction in tack?
This is a very emotional and heartwarming read. You’ll fall in love with the characters and the storyline is simply amazing. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars. Grab this up and start the series now. You won’t regret it.
This is the first book in a new series from this talented author, and to be honest after reading “The Wounded Souls” series, which I adored, I did not know if this spin off series could top that, but my word, she has done it again!! Gabriel is the son of President Vince and his wife Stella, and this series is how these son’s follow in their fathers’ footsteps. Devon has had an horrendous childhood which has shaped her into the person she is today, and she is the perfect match for Gabriel. This is a beautifully written story which has drama, humour, camaraderie, dedication and love, which all had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I cannot wait to read more in this amazing series and highly recommend for all.
Without a doubt this author has done it again, she has brought to life amazing characters, a sense of family and camaraderie that wraps you up with its warmth, a touch of drama that has you wondering what is going to happen next, a wonderful romance that fills your heart and a hefty dose of humour that leaves you laughing.
Gabriel is a chip off the old block for sure, he definitely is Booth’s son but has a wonderful dose of Stella in him of course. I have to say it’s hard not to fall a little in love with Gabriel, I think anyone who says they didn’t would be telling porkies! He is extremely caring and protective, and not just for family and friends, he’s hunky and hardworking too.
Devon’s fantastic sense of humour is so dry at times yet so innocent at others, it really adds a sparkle to the story and brings more than a chuckle out when you’re reading. She is quirky but can be sassy and feisty when needed. Together with Gabriel they are insanely perfect.
Great expressions and amazingly detailed descriptions take you away to far off places, that yes, can be a little daunting but also informative and interesting too. They clearly paint vivid images of each character with their mannerisms and I have to say I am looking forward to reading about the other Wounded Sons.
Another sensational book by this brilliant author.
Booth and Stella’s “baby boy” is all grown up and the definition of what a man should be. Gabriel is the fierce, determined, and focused on his career. Devon is just trudging through life the best she can. Their worlds collide and we see a soft, tender and loving side of Gabriel emerge. I absolutely loved getting glimpses of the original Wounded Souls members and their lovely significant others. The family dynamics brought tears to my eyes and definitely warmed my heart. This was a beautifully captivating, deliciously sensual, and invigorating ride to go on. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Wonderful story!
Just when you think you have the book boyfriend picked and locked in your heart, Leah Sharelle gives us another one to knock us off our feet. As a huge lover of the Wounded Souls MC I was sad to say goodbye to these characters so when I saw Gabriel, the first book in the Wounded Sons and also a second generation I was over the moon. Gabriel is an alpha military man who is a carbon copy of his father, so you know straight away you are getting a man who loves hard and is loyal and protective to a fault. Devon was a woman who had suffered and survived and the reason might just be her own personal ninja. Their story is passionate, heartfelt and at times confronting. Gabriel and Devon will take a tour of duty to show us that family can sometimes be of your own choosing and that love can own you heart, mind and soul. A love story that at times left me breathless and highly emotional. On a side note, the dedication for this story deserves five stars all on its own.
Just when I think nothing could top The Wounded Souls Leah Sharelle says “hold my beer” and hits me with The Wounded Sons. This second generation is not playing around. Raised by bad@#$ men and incredible women these boys have grown into men who just may be even better than their fathers. Gabriel puts everyone to shame though. I’m here to tell you he is freaking perfect.
Yes perfect. He falls hard and fast for Devon, possibly even harder and faster than his father or uncles did for their women. I’m talking lightning fast insta love here and I could not get enough of it. He was so sweet, so hot and the perfect kind of alpha! Then there’s Devon, so full of light despite having been through so much I loved her immediately! Funny, sweet, and so freaking strong she’s the perfect addition to the flock.
I love that the author is doing this next generation Souls called Wounded Sons and this first book was a wonderful start.
Gabriel Booth is following in his father‘s footsteps being in the commandos and team leader of team five and meets his one with Devon. This is a beautifully written story. I highly recommend reading this book.
I love series. I love when an author writes about a second generation of a series even more. It’s like taking a trip home, and visiting with old friends! When I found out this author was going to be writing about the kids of the Wounded Souls MC, I flipped! I couldn’t contain my excitement! And even though there is always a bit of doubt (I mean really, could it get any better than the Wounded Souls?!? ) I knew I’d never be disappointed with anything this author writes.
Devon has had a horrible life. A childhood tragedy follows her into adulthood, keeping her from really living life to the fullest. A neglectful, but still overprotective, family leaves her feeling alone, even when she isn’t. She is just moving through life, day by day, when she stumbles across Gabriel. Then life starts to heat up!
Gabriel was brought up surrounded by family, love, and support. He can’t fathom anything else. He has followed his dreams, (and his father’s footsteps!) becoming a top commando in the Australian Army. But there is still something missing from his life. He wants the kind of love his parents have, the kind of love all of the Souls guys have. He has high expectations for what love is, and won’t settle for less. One look at Devon, and he knows. She is it!
This book wasn’t as hard core as the Wounded Souls books. Don’t get me wrong. The danger and excitement is there, but Gabriel and Devon’s story was more about family, and support. It was a great story, and their connection was absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait for the rest of the Commando Team 5 to find their HEA!
I am loving this spinoff series from the Wounded Souls!! Time to pass the torch and this author did it and a fantastic fashion with a gripping book one. Gabriel Booth is following in his father‘s footsteps being in the commandos and team leader of team five. On leave he meets Devon and his world is irrevocably changed. Devon has suffered unspeakable trauma stemming from an accident her and her mom were involved and she was just a child and being diagnosed with a horrific illness. She has vanquished most of her demons and Gabriel goes a long way to further her healing. Gabriel has finally found his one, will the secrets Devon has been keeping from him ruin what could have been a spectacularly beautiful relationship? I can’t wait to see the next generation Souls take their rightful place!
It is no secret that I absolutely love every book Leah Sharelle has written and Gabriel did not let me down.
Gabriel is the only child to Booth and Stella (His Honey) and has followed in his father’s footsteps and became a Green beret.
Devon has not had a easy life. After tragedy strikes her 3 times she is left feeling alone, like a burden and unloveble. Until one sunny day on a sand dune fate gave Devon a lifeline in the form of a tall, hunky soldier.
Life isn’t that easy though. Can Devon and Gabriel work the roadblocks that keeps getting thrown in front of them?
This book took me on a serious rollercoaster of emotions. One of the many things I love about Leah’s books is you can see how much research she puts into each story and that stands true for Gabriel as well.
Well done Leah. I can’t wait for the next book.
