Hell Squad soldier Gabe Jackson has lost everything that mattered, including his twin brother. Now he just wants to kill the invading aliens anyway he knows how…and he knows a lot of ways. Previously part of a secret Army super-soldier project, he’s faster, stronger, deadlier…but on the inside, he’s a mass of rage, and pain, and grief–all waiting for a chance to drag him under. Until he … finds her.
Dr. Emerson Green had her life planned: thrive in the high-stress environment of the ER, build her career, have a great life. Then the raptor alien invasion happened. Now she’s the head of the medical team for the secret base sheltering human survivors outside of Sydney. She’s also in charge of patching up the soldiers who get too close to raptor claws. She’d never planned for this…and she’d never planned for sexy, brooding Gabe Jackson.
As Emerson uncovers clues to the aliens’ secret plans for the human race, she and Gabe collide in a storm of volatile passion. But the brooding soldier is as stubborn as he is silent, and Emerson knows she must convince him to reach out to her…because Gabe is a ticking time bomb about to go off.
Note to readers: This sci fi romance contains a lot of action (think invading aliens, explosions and gunfights), tough warriors (the sexy, battle-hardened soldiers of Hell Squad) and a steamy romance (lots of sexy times between a brooding soldier and a smart doctor). So if you like it fast, and gritty, and sexy, this is for you!

Q & A with the Author
Q – How would you describe the Hell Squad series?
A – Tough, alpha soldiers battling invading aliens. Hell Squad is science fiction romance with a dose of post-apocalyptic grit and a serve of military romance. There is lots of action, adventure and romance. But even in the middle of a fight for survival, the series is focused on hope, friends, family and love. Hell Squad has been one of my bestselling series and I’m thrilled the Hell Squad gang have so many fans.
Q – Why did you want to write the series?
A – I love action, adventure and romance. And I love science fiction romance and all the endless possibilities. I also wanted to write something that was a little darker and grittier than my more adventure-filled series, the Phoenix Adventures. Then I had this image of a former society party girl wearing fatigues squaring off with a scarred, battle-hardened soldier and Hell Squad was born. I’d intended it to be a single story…but the Hell Squad soldiers had other ideas and literally came to life as I wrote the first book!
Q – What order should I read the books in?
A – All the Hell Squad books have stand-alone romances in them but the action arc of the invading aliens grows with each book. Many readers have entered the series with later books and they haven’t been lost, but, characters from the early stories do appear in later books and I really think it adds something to the reading experience to read them in order. Here’s the order I suggest:
– Marcus
– Cruz
– Gabe
– Reed
– Roth
– Noah
– Shaw
– Holmes
– Niko
About Anna: I’m passionate about all things action romance. I love stories that combine the thrill of falling in love with the excitement of action, danger and adventure. I write about people overcoming unbeatable odds and achieving seemingly impossible goals. I like to believe it’s possible for all of us to do the same.
The Hell Squad Series:
– Science Fiction Romance
– Action Adventure Romance
– Post-apocalyptic Romance
– Alien Invasion Romance
– Futuristic Romance
– Military Romance

Hell Squad member Gabe Jackson has lost the last thing that mattered to him, his twin brother. Now he is hellbent on killing all the aliens no matter the cost. Dr. Emerson Green is the head of the medical team for the Blue Mountain base. She frequently patches up the soldiers, especially Hell Squad. She never planned to fall for the sexy and broadening Gabe, who refuses to open up.
“Loving a woman twists you up. Makes you do some pretty idiotic things. God, it can even make you afraid…But it’s worth every second.” – Marcus
This book was just packed with action, suspense, and romance. Gabe is the strong, silent type who doesn’t know how to express his emotions. He is struggling to deal with the grief and guilt over the death of his brother. The only time he finds peace is when he is with Emerson. Gabe may be a quiet one but he shows he cares by leaving little gifts for Emmerson. I do wish we had learned more about the experiments done on him in the military because it is all so fascinating.
“As it did every time he was with her, that tight, hot ball of pain, rage and grief that lived inside him shrunk, easing back a little and letting him breathe.”
Emerson has been dedicated to helping others her whole life. She is smart, tough, and compassionate. She puts everything she is into helping others, including Gabe, that she forgets to take care of herself. Even after being kidnapped by aliens she still goes out on missions with Hell Squad to save as many people as she can. The biggest thing I liked about her though was that she doesn’t try to change Gabe. She lets him open up to her in his own way and doesn’t force him to talk all his feelings out.
“I don’t expect you to turn into a talker. I just want you to be yourself.”
As for the aliens in this book, they are continuing the experiments on humans. A new lab is found and more horrors are discovered inside. This just makes Hell Squad, and the rest of the survivors, even more determined to stop the aliens. Also new aliens are introduced in this one, flying kinds this time.
“You gotta take the good when you can get it. Helps you shake off the bad.” – Reed
Overall, Gabe is a wonderful addition to the series. I cannot wait to learn more about the other squad, especially the Berserkers, which I think their name speaks for itself.
Another great Hell Squad read!
These are very quick reads but that doesn’t take from the story at all thank god! If you love fast paced, action packed, adventure filled books with sexy alpha males and the strong independent women they fall in love with then you’ll love this series.
It’s finally revealed that the Gizzida have come to Earth to “assimilate” the human race by transforming them into the reptilian Gizzida. Hell Squad found the transformation tanks and the ravaged bodies.
Gabe, warrior extraordinaire and mighty hottie lost his twin Zeke and is struggling with the loss. They both appear to have been experimented on as children as there are some “enhanced” senses in play. But he totally lost it when Dr Emerson Green got herlsef captured. It would seem this man mountain has a soft spot for the petire Dr!
Emerson has a lot on her plate. She is suffering from PTSD, treating the various injuries at the base and worrying about what will happen when the birth control wears out! Since the arrival of the aliens casual sex has been more open as humans struggle to survive. Soon there could be the pitter patter of little feet about the base – but is that such a good idea whilst the threat is still so intense?
Poor Gabe thinks he’s not good enough for the brilliant Dr and Emerson thinks she is too uptight and broken because of her PTSD to satisfy the huge warrior. They are both so sweet but slightly dim! Neither can understand the link they feel between them as something other than gratitude.
I loved this book so much. Gabe is so unassuming even though he takes up half the room and Emerson may be smart but she is kinda emotionally stunted after her ordeal! Gizzida are the scourge of the universe and you can real feel the anger the team generate when they find the experimentation tanks!
