“A roaring good read.”—FORBES.com Master sniper Bob Lee Swagger returns in this riveting novel by bestselling author and Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Hunter. The Great Depression was marked by an epidemic of bank robberies and Tommy-gun-toting outlaws who became household names. Hunting them down was the new U.S. Division of Investigation–soon to become the FBI–which was determined to nab the … the FBI–which was determined to nab the most dangerous gangster this country has ever produced: Baby Face Nelson. To stop him, the Bureau recruited talented gunman Charles Swagger, World War I hero and sheriff of Polk County, Arkansas.
Eighty years later, Charles’s grandson Bob Lee Swagger uncovers a strongbox containing an array of memorabilia dating back to 1934–a federal lawman’s badge, a .45 automatic preserved in cosmoline, a mysterious gun part, and a cryptic diagram–all belonging to Charles Swagger. Bob becomes determined to find out what happened to his grandfather– and why his own father never spoke of Charles. But as he investigates, Bob learns that someone is following him–and shares his obsession.
Told in alternating timeframes, G-Man is a thrilling addition to Stephen Hunter’s bestselling Bob Lee Swagger series.

Great blending of history and fiction.

Fantastic book by Stephen Hunter, creator of many action thrillers with Bob Lee Swagger!
not so believable as so many of his BRL stories.
Reads like a gun manual with some historic story in between the extensive info on guns. Unless you are a dedicated gun enthusiast, I would pass.
Stephen Hunter has written another outstanding and original novel. Part history, part crime fiction, an excellent addition to the Bob Lee Swagger series.
I bought this book after seeing the moving Shooter. Book, as usual, is very different but recognizable. Great characters. Good conflict between the good guys and government protected bad guys
A great flashback set in the dawn of the FBI and filled with the great bank robbers of the 30s – Dillinger, Baby-Face Nelson. A must read.
Great reading.
Just didn’t find this book entertaining or interesting.
Stephen Hunter is an excellent author and this book was awesome! Thoroughly enjoyed the story line and the characters. Very entertaining.
Great insight into the world of John Dillinger, Machine Gun Kelly, Baby Face Nelson, et all. Makes you think…
Stephen Hunter is a great writer and I recommend this book.
Meh.
Interesting process of two stories in one.
Great read. Some unexpected twists. I thought alternating between two different time frames would be difficult to keep straight but was easy to read and keep up to date.
Just what u would expect from stephen hunter.
I’m a Stephen Hunter fan and have read all of his books. this one is a standard Stephen Hunter effort, very entertaining, with lots action as well as plot twists and turns. Best of all, it includes Bob Lee Swagger, Hunter’s protagonist and one of the my favorites.
