From New York Times bestseller and Hugo Award-winner John Scalzi, an extraordinary retelling of the SF classic Little Fuzzy ZaraCorp holds the right to extract unlimited resources from the verdant planet Zarathustra–as long as the planet is certifiably free of native sentients. So when an outback prospector discovers a species of small, appealing bipeds who might well turn out to be … well turn out to be intelligent, language-using beings, it’s a race to stop the corporation from “eliminating the problem,” which is to say, eliminating the Fuzzies–wide-eyed and ridiculously cute small, and furry–who are as much people as we are.

Goddammit John Scalzi loves to make me cry. And laugh. And cry. And laugh.
«Fuzzy Nation» is Scalzi’s remake of «Little Fuzzy», a sixties novel by H. Beam Piper. Scalzi updated the story, as he tells himself, with 21st century sensibilities in mind. I think he managed it. «Fuzzy Nation» has environmentalist undertones and the typical greedy …
My second John Scalzi book. Great premise for a sci-fi book that makes you think about what it means to be sentient and worth protecting. Quick and fast read.
Scalzi always delivers. If you like your sci-if with a heaping helping of humor then he’s the writer for you. Plus I appreciate his diversity of female characters—they’re not all bubble-headed dingbats or saints.
Fuzzy Nation uses adorable aliens to highlight the human capacity to use and abuse nature but in a non-preachy way. Great read!!
Really enjoyed all of the fussy series by Scalizi and HBeam Piper
Scalzi space drama with funny anti-hero and friends.
I listened to FUZZY NATION by John Scalzi and absolutely loved it. Mr. Scalzi is fast becoming one of my favorite scifi authors for his books and his personality as well. FUZZY NATION was a great mix of science fiction world building, wit and humor, and court room drama. Plus, he twisted the knife in my chest during one of the penultimate scenes. …
A good reboot of an old SF novel
This is the type of Scalzi book I like the best (more so than the space opera).
Lot’s of fun with some food-for-thought
I listened to this as an audiobook and I really enjoyed it
I cried during the trial. (you know when, if you’ve read the book)
Damn you, John Scalzi, you made me care about the fuzzies and I cried. But it was a good cry, a righteous cry.
