If you thought Spark was good, you’ll love Fusion. It’s an even more emotional read. We really get to see Hugo and Kevin at some seriously intense moments. It made me fall more in love with them. You get a strong idea of what they are going to be dealing with next as well. Luckily they do a lot of growing in this one to prepare them. Have tissues ready because you will need them.

Fusion is the second book in the North Star Trilogy by Posy Roberts. Beautifully told, emotional story – definitely needed my Kleenex next to me for this one. The interactions between all the characters gave me so many feels…all the moments shared and everything that happens in this book just makes me fall harder for them all. These are great characters and their story pulled me in and I’m in deep now…I can not wait for the conclusion to this trilogy.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
Have your tissues handy, this is a tear jerker. This book picks up the story of Kevin and Hugo several months after those in Spark (book 1). I on’t want to give anything by saying too much, I will say there are some pretty big obstacles for Kevin and Hugo to overcome. The story will pull on your heartstrings, and have you ona rollercoaster of emotions. I think the author did a great job of conveying everyone’s thoughts and emotions; though I do think it was a bit heavy handed at times. I strongly suggest reading these books in order. I look forward to reading what happens next.
So glad I kept reading after my disaster with Book1. This was so much better. the writing the strength of all the characters not just the 2 MC’s and the love between them all. This is a wonderful read.
This book was one of the books I’ve read in a long time! It has everything; love, sacrifices, sadness, joy and heartbreak. I cried and got goosebumps! I was prepared to hate Erin because I thought that she was going to come between Hugo & Kevin. Sadly that wasn’t the case. Kevin was an upstanding husband and father. So much good and sad happened in this book. It was so hard to put into words because I’m still feeling pretty raw after what happened with Erin.
Posy thought of everything, the story developments felt so organic, so real. And I’m not gonna lie it kicks down hard. The kids needs were always met, they were so much part of the story, as Kevin and Hugo. Kevin was still learning the ropes of fatherhood since Erin took care of the kids and their needs. I loved how Hugo stepped up and helped guide Kevin into situations that were prior handled by Erin. Kevin’s goal was to provide for his family and that was a role he knew how to do. It was wonderful seeing how he grew as a father and realized how much he had missed out in the day to days life of his kids. The kids nicknames were adorable, Peanut and Olive. Hugo was such a wonderful and caring caregiver.
Hugo’s best friend Summer and Russ (Russell) is Erin’s brother. It was nice to be right in thinking these two were going to end up together. I can’t wait for the 3rd book, to see how Hugo and Kevin are settling in, and to see how Summer and Russ relationship develops. I’m so glad I got the chance this go around to read this series. If you haven’t started this series I suggest you do so as quickly as possible.
This one hurt. Kevin and Hugo were still so much in love, but now that Kevin needed to support Erin, things became very complicated. I adored all three of these people, as well as the wonderful children they loved. There was so much pain throughout this story, but there was such a focus on what being a family really meant. Erin and Kevin were Brooke and Finn’s parents, but in so many ways, Hugo was, too. This family was just wonderful. I loved watching Hugo trying to overcome his relationship insecurities, and I was so happy with the relationship he built with his boyfriend’s estranged wife. There were moments of true happiness in the midst of sadness and turmoil. The supporting characters were wonderful, and the story was fantastic. I’m afraid the next book is going to kill me, but I still recommend this series with my whole heart.
