“It’s angsty, it’s swoony, it’s unbelievably sexy… It’s one of those that you pick up, become completely captivated by, and you look around hours later and go, ‘Whoa…’ Those books? Those are the very best kind and FURIOUS RUSH was that for me.”–Southern Belle Book Blog“I WAS FLOATING IN FEELS THE WHOLE STORY. This touching and turbulent tale tugged my heart every step of the way, stomping on … tugged my heart every step of the way, stomping on it and then stitching it back together several times.”–Bookalicious Babes Blog
The first book in a new series by the #1 bestselling author of the Thoughtless novels…
Mackenzie Cox has a lot to prove. Daughter of a racing legend, she is eager to show the world that she has inherited her father’s talent in the male-dominated sport of professional motorcycle racing. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonized by her rival team’s newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Plucked from the world of illegal street racing, Hayden immediately gets under Kenzie’s skin. His insinuations that Kenzie is a spoiled princess who was handed her career fuels her desire to win, and much to her surprise, Kenzie soon learns she performs better when she’s racing against Hayden.
As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense–and strictly forbidden–attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie always does her best to play by the rules, but when her team slips into a financial crisis, she has no choice but to turn to Hayden for help. The tension simmers during their secret, late-night rendezvous, but Kenzie has too much to lose to give in to her desires. Especially when she begins to doubt that Hayden has completely left his street life behind… LOOK FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES: DANGEROUS RUSH. more
4 stars for Furious Rush by S.C. Stephens. This is book 1 in the Furious Rush series. This book for me was a non-stop adrenalin rush. Mackenzie has wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps and be an amazing motorcycle racer. Hayden is new to the legal side of racing, but he an undefeated street racer. These two are attracted to each other but the only problem is Kenzie is a Cox and Hayden is racing for Benneti. They are sworn enemies, but they seem to make each other better racers. The problem is trouble is finding them and racers seem to be getting hurt. Rumor going around is its Hayden but is it really. I loved every second of this book and I couldn’t put it down. I read it in one sitting. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
I am confused as to how I feel about this book. So I gave it a middle ground 3 star rating. The first half of the book was slow starting, and dragged a little, but when it got going I really started to enjoy it. Then I started getting really angry over things some of the secondary characters were doing. Then the ending made me want to bash my kindle in with a hammer.
Sooooooo Yeahhhh like I said conflicting emotions. I loved Hayden. He was loyal, sexy, charming, street smart with just a touch of bad boy. Kenzie I liked but it took me a while to warm to her. She was very uptight and at times she would come off as a bit of a bitch. But as the book goes on and you see all the pressure and stress she has I could see where she was coming from. Then by the half way mark after she fell in love with Hayden she changed. She loosened up, pulled the stick out of her butt, started breaking rules and lived a little. Which I really liked. Kenzie and Hayden made a cute couple. They had major sexual tension and lots of passion when they got together. S.C. Stephens can write some very hot, yummy, sex scenes.
My biggest problem with this book was I hated Kenzie’s dad, Keith, and Hookup. Those 3 just kept ticking me off. Kenzie’s Dad Jordan came off very selfish and uncaring. The things he did to Kenzie are unforgivable and I truly hated him. Keith and hookup were no better. The end of this book was kind of a shock to the system. I bet my mouth dropped open. Something happens that made me want to smash my kindle and add to that a ton of unfinished business and I am guessing there will be another book. Which of course I will be picking up because I have to know what happens.
“Race me?” Grinning brightly, I whispered back, “Race me or chase me, Hayes.” –Kenzie

There’s just something about a novel that can keep you engine idling and rev your heart to the point of combustion and also make you fall in love with these characters one race at a time that is awe-inspiring. THIS book was that for me. Packed full of tension, secretive pasts, mysterious futures, heated passion that boils just below the surface and adrenaline at every turn, we get this cross between Romeo & Juliet (minus the deaths at the end) and Fast & the Furious.
“We were fated for disaster, but at least we had this moment together. And it was a good one.” –Kenzie.
Mackenzie “Kenzie” Cox has the weight of the world on her shoulders…well the weight of “Cox Racing” on her shoulders that is. “Mackenzie Cox, daughter of Jordan Cox and racer for Cox Racing.” Kenzie Cox is the daughter of a legendary racer, so that alone gives her the drive to be a better rider, but add to that the fact that her father’s legacy is financially unstable and on the cusps of closer, that makes her racing and winning that much more vital. She pushes herself to the limit at every turn and is extremely disciplined. She gets the right amount of sleep, eats only the correct foods to fuel her body and exercises for endurance, but nothing seems to improve her times on the track. Until him…Hayden Hayes… “Street-racing, undefeated, golden boy now turned professional AARC racer”. After seeing him in an illegal street race, she NEVER expected to see him again, let alone on her father’s track. Hayden is the new rider for “Benneti Motors”, her families arch enemy and also co-owner of the track. There is no fraternization of ANY kind between Cox racers and Benneti racers. So that makes there situation that much worse. If anyone finds out that they met AND it was at an illegal street race, they could both be fired. And now to make matters worse, Kenzie comes to the realization that she is a better racer when she goes against him. “We’re magic together, Twenty-two,” he breathed. “Just admit you need me…and we can take this up a notch.” –Hayden. Desperate times, call for desperate measures. Kenzie sees no other way, than to seek Hayden’s help. She needs him to help her save her father’s racing business. With Hayden’s help, she can be better, maybe even be the best. If she wins, Cox Racing will get more endorsements, more sponsors and more money to keep the business afloat. But right when Kenzie begins to feel the weight lifted off her shoulders and her track times improving, unexplainable accidents occur during the races. “There’s been other trouble this year too. Illegal parts here, bad spark plugs there, wrong tires…Riders who should know better are being penalized for stupid rookie mistakes. It’s not natural.” –Jordan Cox., Kenzie’s dad. Are all these incidences true accidents and rider errors or is a coincidence that they started occurring after Hayden joined the AARC? To top off all the stress in Kenzie’s personal and professional life, she has begun to open herself up to Hayden and is beginning to find herself having feelings for him. But that is not a possibility because if she is able to save her father’s racing business, they cannot have a future together, what with the Cox/Bennetti ban in place. How long with Kenzie be able to straddle both worlds? Will she find the perfect solution: Save Cox Racing AND keep the man?
WHOA! Well that was quite a ride! SC Stephens once again captured my heart with these characters. Kenzie is described to have “tunnel vision” when it came to Hayden, but let me tell you, I had “tunnel vision” when it came to this book! Stephens exceeded my expectations at every turn! At about 90% I started doing the, “There’s no way there’s only 10% left of the book! There is so much left to the story!” Well apparently I’ve been living under a rock because THERE IS MORE TO COME! SC Stephens does a phenomenal job of leaving breadcrumbs of possibilities for certain plot twists throughout the book, but just subtle enough that the reader almost forgets about it until the very end! #plottwist #cliffy #brilliant I am SO excited to see where she takes these characters! #teamHayden&Kenzie
“We were competitors, friends, lovers…and soul mates. He completed a part of me that I hadn’t realized was missing.” –Kenzie.
5+ Stars!
Loved This! It was a little slow starting, but once it got going, it got hot and steamy fast. I loved the whole street racing theme especially since I grew up in the street racing scene, but with race cars. This was such a thrill to read being able to connect with some of this story. This is more of a fast and furious kind of story, but with motorcycles. Furious Rush is such a Sexy, Forbidden love story and one that I would recommend. The ending of this story hints to more of Kenzie and Hayden’s story. I can’t wait to read more!!
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
