I have been anxiously awaiting this sequel for months and I have absolutely not been disappointed! I loved it!
I of course had read Blood and Holy Water, so I knew something of Simon’s history going in. And I read Bitten, so I knew a teeny bit about Katrina and her son Alex. I never could have imagined how Ms Schultz was going to flesh out their personalities and stories, though. As always, she developed them wonderfully, with kind hearts and touching traits, while still expressing a humanness that made them relatable. The plot lines were truly entertaining, interesting and creatively written. I love the blend of werewolves, vampires, angels and humans in this series – it really gives a lot of territory for Ms Schultz’s imagination to play with, and boy, does she!
Really, everything about this book was enjoyable to me and totally kept me turning the pages… to the point that I missed sleep in order to find out what was going to happen!
I do hope there will be more novels in this series; I haven’t had my fill of these characters and this world just yet. I will say it was nice to get a glimpse of Fin and Ava from Blood and Holy Water, and now I have several more characters I’ll hope to catch up with in future Angels of Sojourn stories 🙂
So book 1 we got to read about Angels and Vampires and in book 2 we’re getting to read about Angels and Werewolves and this book is just as good as the first book. Loving the characters and the storyline.

A highly entertaining, highly emotional and action packed race to save a young boy finding and finding unexpected connections along the way… loved every heart pounding twist and turn int his thrilling adventure in this amazingly magical world. Loved it!
Simon the fallen angel and Katrina and her son Alex the werewolves were destined to be together. Their struggles during their journey with the wolf pack that wanted Katrina and not Alex were suspenseful. And the government taking werewolves to keep in a facility to make soldiers getting Alex was interesting. Simon fought for his new family and they got their HEA. Great read.

Simon was cast out of Sojourn and found himself back on Earth. Since then, while he waited to find out his purpose for existing here, he was keeping an eye on his old family home to see if he recognized any of his descendants, but no one looked familiar. A wolf pup raced down the trail and fell, but got up again and ran forward. A white wolf ran up the trail as well and ran right into him. He used his connection to Sojourn to transport behind a boulder and the wolf again followed after the trail of the pup. He felt a tingle in his stomach, the sign of a miracle, so he made himself invisible and followed after them. Grabbing the pup, he climbed a tree. A woman hiding behind cover of a tree demanded he return the pup to her. She then climbed up, took her son from him, and descended to the path. She did not know what he was, but he wasn’t human. He apparently didn’t know about werewolves either.
Katrina dropped her son Alex off at school. She was exhausted and closed her eyes in the car, but Rick slid in the passenger side. He wanted her to join the pack and let their alpha control Alex. He was afraid Katrina was not strong enough. The pack did not want Alex doing something stupid to draw a government investigation to them. She thought about the man in the woods who had tried to save her son, even though there was no real danger. He seemed sincere.
Simon knew the miracle was for the boy. He returned to their home in the woods. He briefly talked to Katrina but she had to take Alex into the woods to run and hunt. Alex was heading toward a lake when Simon appeared before Katrina and offered his help again. She lost sight of Alex and frantically searched. She followed his scent down a path and found the body of a gray-haired man with his throat torn out! Had her son done this in his wolf form? Or had something else attacked the man, and was Alex in danger himself? Katrina turned to follow his scent deeper into the woods. A man’s death would most certainly bring the human government to investigate!
This was an exciting story. I was again impressed that, aside from the mystery that the author brings to us, she turns the reader’s expectations of werewolves and angels around and provides a new perspective. I really enjoy her writing. The story line is well done and paced to keep the reader’s sustained interest. The characters in this story were very believable in their fears and reactions. But can they work together to solve this serious situation that will impact the werewolves who are already mercilessly hunted by the humans? Grab your copy and find out who or what killed the man – and what kind of dangers the werewolves now face!

I didnt read book one of this series, but I can tell that the author put alot of thought and work into this book. The characters were well thought out, and eventhough this was book 2, I wasnt lost reading it like with most series. She has created a great mesmerizing and intriguing world full of various types of paranormal. This wont be the last book of hers that Ill read.

Fur & Feathers #2 – Read Blood & Holy Water and Bitten first before reading this book since the characters continue with their lives in this story. The Angels of Sojourn has been an interesting series of books. Well written with interesting storylines and characters woven with a vivid imagination to keep the reader immersed in the pages. I was not lucky enough to read these books in sequence, but I still enjoyed all the stories. Each adds to a wonderful, intriguing and mesmerizing world that runs the gamut of emotions, and actions and consequences, complete with a constantly moving pace. I contacted the author to review her books and have purchased her books, too. 5*
Angels of Sojourn Series:
Burnt & Broken – I had to read all the Angels of Sojourn books that I had. Ms. Schultz just has a way about her: her writing style; her realistic characters; her understated sexual tension between characters; and her infrequent use of vulgar language. This is a well written story complete with a well though out plot and believable dialog that moves at a fast pace. I appreciate that while the angels once were human, they don’t behave as humans; sex, vulgar language and all the other stupidity. Her angels behave as angels, even the “tainted” or fallen angels are good, they’re just in a gray area. Their mistakes were actually to help someone in need or pain. There is plenty of suspense and intrigue in this short story. 5*
Blood & Holy Water #1 – I couldn’t put this book down without a fight. Another well written, well thought out story concerning an unusual vampire (I like what was done with this character) and a wingless angel. Enemies with the same goal, but different results gained, work together to solve the deaths of potential angels and murdered vampires, and the ties between the two groups. The characters are realistic and both have morals and ethics. The angel goes a little gray, but there’s so much involved in her decisions in trying to help the humans and potential angels. There’s intrigue and suspense, and the book moves at a fast pace. There’s sexual tension, but no sex – thank goodness this author treats angels as angels not sex starved humans without morals – and very infrequent vulgar language. 5*
Fangs & Fairy Dust #1.25- I enjoy Ms. Schultz’s stories, which I discovered in Hexes and Ohs, and was happy to find this collection. This is a well written and believable novella introducing the Angels of Sojourn Series, of which Blood & Holy Water is the first book. The main characters, a male vampire and a female human and her mother, are interesting and believable, along with action and dialog. It is fast paced and contains vivid descriptions making everything easy to visualize. Fortunately, it is not a cliffhanger. 4*
Flame & Fortune #2.5 – Another good addition to the Angels of Sojourn Series. Different from the other books in this series, this one is about embezzlement and second chances. She’s sent to earth to distract a human without knowing why. The story is fast paced, with good characters and dialog, and good storylines. There is emotion ranging from grief to happiness. I’ve read this series out of order and never felt lost or had spoilers ruining the other books. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
Angels of Sojourn Series end.
