NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • On the trail of a killer who cannot possibly exist … Jeremy Logan, the renowned “enigmalogist,” has often found himself in situations where keeping an open mind could mean the difference between life and death, and that has never been more true than now. When Logan travels to an isolated writers’ retreat deep in the Adirondacks to work on his book, he discovers … to work on his book, he discovers the remote community has been rocked by the grisly death of a hiker on Desolation Mountain. The attack occurred during the full moon and the body was severely mauled, but the unusual savagery calls into question the initial suspicions of a bear attack. Logan’s theories take a dramatic turn when he meets Laura Feverbridge, a respected scientist who is still struggling with the violent loss of her father months earlier. As Feverbridge shares her research with Logan, he begins to wonder whether he is actually up against something he can’t believe is real.

Wow , this book. Do you like creepy books , ones with different twist and could this happen thoughts.Plan on reading the whole book at one time! Go to your reading cave, hang up the don’t disturb sign and hunker down. This book was suggestion by my library to me, wasn’t sure I like it . The story moves, the charters are likeable, great story telling that brings you into place where it was taking place. I’m not giving anything away, just fall into like I did.
Cleaver tail with a science take on the howelers of the moon
Great writing, engaging narrative.
Great book. You can never go wrong with a Preston & Child’s book either as a team or writing on their own.
Always love reading Lincoln Child
I really enjoy reading this author’s work. However, this book did not have the “magic” of previous novels.
I was disappointed. The storyline just never got off the ground. The subject matter was great but the writing just didn’t bring it out.
As someone who has written a werewolf novel of his own, I genuinely enjoyed Child’s take on the genre.
His approach to the myth creates a well-formed and unique scenario that perfectly rides the line between fantasy and science in a way that reminds me (quite favorably) of his work with Douglas Preston on Relic. This is my favorite of the Jeremy Logan books to date.
One caveat – I listened to this on audiobook, and I think I would have enjoyed it more by reading the book myself. The audiobook narrator comes off a bit flat, and the act of listening leaves less time for the imagination to flesh out a description before the narrator moves on than reading it yourself does. If in doubt, buy the physical book.
This is only book I have read by this author and I think he must like to write about supernatural or legendary creatures. I plan to read more of his books as the one I read was intriguing – especially as I did some climbing in the region in younger days – Mt. Marcy, Giant, Big Slide. (plus I think the author went to Carleton College in Northfield, MN as did my daughter and son-in-law)
This book is a ghastly disappointment. Don’t waste your time.
Love being inside the main character’s head as the story progresses. Always wonderful reading from this author.
The murders in these novels are particularly gruesome. I did enjoy the stories though, I’m trying to get away from murders.
Lincoln Child’s books are always soooooooooo good!
Hated it.
Not one of his best
Full Wolf Moon is a fairly quick read – one sitting. It a bit scary and certainly a page-turner. I figured out the plot about half way through but still enjoyed finishing it The Jeremy Logan series is somewhat of a departure from Lincoln Child’s other books. I like following the complex logic that he uses to solve impossible and eerie crimes. All and all a full and entertaining read.
GREAT BOOK FROM A GREAT WRITER
I have been enjoying this series by Lincoln Child… Jeremy Logan… is a wonderful character
This book has made a Lincoln Child fan out of me. I thoroughly enjoyed this suspenseful take on the age-old mythical creature, and appreciated the depth of research which made the story flow so well. I find the author’s voice superbly easy to follow, and the pages so comfortably turnable. It’s not often I re-read, but this one I just had to. Top shelf.
Loved this book. Great characters.
