Full glasses and Burju shoes by Blake Blessing a four-star read that will fill you. Emil was a great character he has a strength to him that shone under the surface, he has a story that will show you that even when you are broken, you can still move forward. It gives great depth to showing us how hard it is to come home a different person, the difficulties faced. Perrin was someone who I liked immensely and mostly adored but had some difficulties with at times. This truly is a novel that will stay with you, it shows you all of the different facets of trust, the best and the worst, it’s a compelling and heartfelt story.

5-stars
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes is a phenomenal romance read by Blake Blessing. This book is full of emotional moments that had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. From the very start I was pulled into Perrin and Emil’s story as I was highly intrigued by both of them.
Their story was truly emotional, and it had me feeling all the feels, from awe, happiness, hurt, empathy, shock and much more. Their connection was simply undeniable and I was honestly sad when I reached the end of this book as I could have continued reading their story for hours!
I loved absolutely everything about their story and I enjoyed all the detail as it made it possible for me to feel as if I was right there with these characters. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!
This is a new author to me, and I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Emil is trying to get back into normal life after being deployed, and he is left with PTSD, which leaves him feeling worthless and unlovable. Perrin has her own share of demons to overcome, and is just as broken as Emil is. The moral of this story is that life is not always smooth sailing, and you may have to fight for what you want. This is a well written story, which is raw, gritty, heartbreaking, emotional, humorous, and an all round powerful read. I was intrigued and enthralled throughout this addictive page turner. I recommend this authors’ work for all.
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing is a romance like no other. This is only the second book I have read by Blake but it is one that I really, really enjoyed. The story is engaging and enthralling and is so full of emotions that it really stirred me up and made my heartache. Having gone through PTSD I felt everything Emil and his war buddies were going through. There is a lot of turmoil that put me on edge and had my heart racing and I could not put it down. I read it all in one sitting. The characters are so raw and real and hurting and loving and scared. There was no way I could put it aside, I had to know now what was happening and felt like I needed to be there for the characters and I wanted to wrap them up in big hugs.
Emil has recently returned from being deployed overseas and is desperate to have a normal life but what is normal when you come home from war.
Perrin has know loss but she has never had to deal with anything like the god like man who has gotten her offside from the get go.
OMG, there were many tears and some laughter but the lows felt like they kept on coming and it was one twist after the other. Blake has really impressed me with this story. I can not recommend this book enough!
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes By Blake Blessing. From page one I knew I was in for an emotional journey with the two amazing main characters. Each one having such a different story to tell but coming together in this amazing story. The author does a wonderful job of writing characters you can’t help but root for and connect with. There’s definitely some highs and lows for Emil and Perrin but it’s a wonderful story to watch unfold between them and their past haunts. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The characters are complex and believable. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read more from this author. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

Full Glasses and Burju Shoes was a wonderful read. This is the second book that I have read by this author and I really love her writing style. I fell in love with the characters Perrin and Emil. I loved Perrin’s fun and caring attitude, she was a really nice person albeit a little guarded when it came to her emotions. Emil, I just loved him – there were times where I could have cried for him and thought the author portrayed his character so well, I could really feel the way he felt after serving and then returning to civilian life. The author really brought these characters to life and made me fall in love in love with them and in turn I was rooting for them to find their happiness all the way through. The writing of this story is completely flawless and it was an absolute pleasure to read.
I 100% recommend this story and I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.
Yes PLEASE! Give me more books like this Blake Blessing! I’m a true hardcore fan! This book took me from one emotion to the next in two point two seconds. I adored every second of it and I couldn’t get enough. Blessing has only given us two novels and I have had the pleasure of reading both, and the breadth of the genres can only attest more to her skill to weave a multifaceted story.
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes was an emotional read with strong and emotional characters. Both, Emil and Perrin shine but for different reasons. It is this balance in their characteristics that make them work so well together in the book. These two just heal one another, and the process in raw, real, provocative, and adventurous. Most of all I really took away the reminder to live life with ‘full glasses.’ Thanks for the fabulous read Ms. Blessing. I can’t wait to see what will come next!

Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing is such a beautiful story. I really didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. I had read and absolutely loved her fantasy story, ‘Marks of the Mazza’, so when I saw she had released a new book, I knew I had to read it. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, as this wasn’t a fantasy that I knew Ms. Blessing excelled at- it is more of a wounded warrior story, so I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this one as much. Well, even though this is different to her previous book, it is also good! Ms. Blessing has proven to be a great writer who can create a great read, no matter the genre.
The characters are beautifully developed and fully realised individuals, with their own complex personalities, but they are also incredibly interesting and endearing as well.
Highly Recommended Reading!!!
Thank you, Ms. Blessing!
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing was a pretty okay read that was full of misunderstanding, raw emotions and second chances.
Not my first read by this author, so I knew that going in that this book would be well written and detailed. I was not disappointed on that front, but, I do have some mixed feelings.
Lets get what irked me out of the way first. I feel like our MC’s weren’t that good of a pair. It showed towards the end when Emil was opening up to Perrin, and she just exploded on him. That showed me her lack of understanding of the job he had to do in a combat zone, and not getting that things in this world are never black and white. Perrin, for me, seemed a little too immature for her age and frankly, got way too angry, too fast, and jump too many conclusions, before even considering a different outcome. It didn’t help that she has a unhealthy outlook on life. Yes I do know it improves as her and Emil relationship grows, but for me, that first part of their love, felt forced and irking. I will give her backing her sister, and being there for her when things weren’t looking good. And yes I do know she agrees that she needed help of her own, but there was this overmature/immatureness, that for me, didn’t mix well.
Now I did love her and Emil first official conversation, that felt natural and special. I think if there was more of that, leading up, and maybe keeping that friendship aspect longer, before getting into the instalove, then I would have believed in them more.
As for Emil, he got attached to her, fast, and that brewing, no F’s, persona quickly went out the window. I could see the unhealthy way he was clinging to Perrin, but, and I do get why, given he’s PDSD. Overall Emil did have the most character growth, and tried to put his broken soul back together. I gravitate more towards him, and having that split POV really saved this read for me.
The writing was solid, and the conversations flowed nicely and naturally. The ending was the ultimate book saver for me. It showed a Perrin that had mulled over the hurtful things that she said, and admitted that she should have listened to Emil before acting like a child. She finally understood the damage that she cause, and found the courage and willingness to fix it. That revelation did lessen my dislike for her. That ending brought me back to the start, to that first special moment, were I did saw a true connection between them, and the epilogue, that finally drove the nail home for me, and pushed this read into that 4 star spot.
Overall I did enjoy this read, even with my mixed feelings. As I like to say, reading is subjective so my reaction will not be the same as yours. There is a lot of good things in this book, and the raw emotions, and struggles of coming home after a combat deployment, were heartbreaking and so very true. Care was taken in writing this book, and it shined a eye opening spotlight on the damaged us serving members have fto ace. No-one likes a broken hero, and that mentality needs to change. This book, sends that message loud and clear, and I’m proud to see it written to bluntly.
So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval that this book will get you in the feels
Happy Reading
-E.A. Walsh.

5 Stars!!!!!
This is the fist book by this author I have read and I was very impressed. I found the authors writing style quite refreshing. The book kept my attentions from cover to cover.
The chemistry between Perrin and Emil well it’s explosive. I really like how the author wrote in Emil’s PTSD to the story. I just love how Perrin is his saving grace. I really found myself routing for Emil and really enjoyed how the author brought the characters to life . I really enjoyed this book and I will in future read more from this author.
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing is the story of Emiliano ‘Emil’ Espocito and Perrin Michaels.
Perrin is young and trying to fill her life with adventure, thrill seeking and keeping her life in a busy time frame. In addition, she is fun, caring but also wants to avoid being emotional hurt. Emil is a war vet survivor who isn’t sure if he can make it with all the memories, emotions and secrets that he has been through. So both are so different from each other but they both have the underlining of hurt they experienced along with their physical connection. They slowly start to let go of their feelings, their trust and working towards something that can be ever lasting.
This was really an emotional book read for me but one I really enjoyed and can’t wait to read more from this author!

Rated 5 stars!!
Wowzer! This is an off the charts great book! I was unsure about this book at first. I simply did not know about the title. What are Burju shoes? Once I started reading it— I could not put this thing down. I am wholly impressed at the writing in here. It is so smooth and the character development was perfect. The story itself was engaging and full of turmoil. It is a bit edgier but completely worth it. The emotions and life lessons surprised me. I went from high- highs to low- lows right along with the characters. So many wonder lessons were highlighted so I could remember them.
I flipping loved the way these two main Characters are together! I can’t get over the way Emil touches her, smiles/laughs for her and how his eyes sparkle….all for his girl! Or is that what she does for him?? Bringing in the whole PTSD issue? It was done very well. It makes me stop and think about this struggle for our military personnel.
When Emil told Perrin:
“ You are the one light in the smothering darkness of my life”
I about cried! To say that and feel that way! Wow!
I can not recommend this book enough! If you want to read a well written book that has wonderful characters and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. One-Click this baby!
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing is a book that will have you turning the pages in record time.
This is a new author to me and I wasn’t sure what to expect at all when I read the description. The book sounded good and like something I would enjoy. And I have to say I did really enjoy this authors writing style. The hook had an easy flow about it and the story effortlessly progressed.
I also really liked how the characters were opposites in most ways. Everything about them suggested they shouldn’t work together and yet they did. I liked how convincing their story was. The whole story was easy to read and enjoyable. One I would definitely recommend trying.
Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing. This is the story of Perrin Michaels & Emiliano Espocito or Perrin & Emil. They are both strong characters who have been thru their own special kinds of hell. Perrin is a glass half full kinda girl trying to keep as busy as possible so she doesn’t have to dwell on bad things. Emil is a strong, loving, protective war vet who is bitter and trying to just get by. Perrin dives into all types of hobbies, rock climbing, bunjee jumping the more extreme the better and Emil is trying to get back to his old pre-war self. He has horrible flash backs and doesn’t feel like he fits in. Once they meet sparks fly but they are both not really looking for a relationship because of their past. Perrin might just be what Emil needs to draw out of his bitterness and shell. Will they help heal each other or will they let their pasts dictate their futures. Such a good read that showed me the after life of our war heroes and how they try so hard to fit back into life after seeing such destruction and death. It will keep you thinking long after you’ve read it.

This is my second book by this author and I enjoyed it as much as the first one. I enjoy the writing style and her characters always seem to grab me right from the start, this one had me thinking I had things figured out only to be totally wrong and sitting on the edge of my seat.
This one was a bit more emotional than the first one I read and had me a hot mess through most of the book. Two completely broken people who seem to have too many differences to make it work seem to find a way to fit perfectly. I loved how strong Perrin was and with her attitude and living life loving adventures and taking chances it made me want to be her friend and her loyalty to friends and family was awesome. Im impressed by how this author handled Emil and how she tackled his PTSD it was written beautifully and had my emotions all over the place. I loved the inner dialogues that were portrayed by these characters.
I absolutely loved this story and have already added this author to my one click list, I can’t recommend it enough and also can’t wait for more from this author. I also want to learn Bachata dancing, I googled it and love it!
Amazing!
Top 10 things I liked about this book (in no particular order)
1. The cover is beautiful
2. The discreet way the reader is taught how to pronounce the name of the dance
3. PTSD is openly acknowledged and spoken about
4. The friendships
5. The visually detailed description of the dance
6. The romance
7. The satisfaction of reading a well written story
8. A strong beginning, middle and end
9. Watching people “lift each other up”
10. The contented feeling when reading the epilogue
What an inspiring, heart wrenching story. Perrin becomes obsessed with new hobbies and always trying to keep her “glass full”; she doesn’t want to live life half way. Emil is a vet trying to return to civilian status and wants nothing to do with anyone. Perrin decides her next hobby will be Bachata dancing (YouTube it guys! SO HOT!) and a pushy mutual friend tries to make it all happen with the help of Emil (can we say meet cute?!). The amount of feels this book will give you is unreal. Blake Blessing delivers two characters and a plethora of secondary characters that will make you feel like you are truly involved in the story. Blessing touches on real life issues that often go ignored and -shout out to her- for bringing those issues to the forefront and making them known!! I wish more authors would draw more attention to things like this. Fingers crossed we get another book or two on our secondary characters and what happens in their lives.
This is a military-new adult romance story that I enjoyed from beginning to end. This story is well written and the characters are true to life. This is a story about two different people who are in need of healing. What will happen when their paths cross? Will they find more than they realize and maybe even some healing in the process? This story took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions that I highly recommend reading.

The story Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing is a wonderful romance book that I loved reading. It hooked me in from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I found myself turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved reading about the characters of Perrin Michaels and Emiliano Espocito. Perrin is a young woman who you could call impulsive and obsessive. I really loved her character because she is full of life and upbeat. She has a kind heart and is a caring person. Emiliano is a war vet and feels that he is broken. He is a man that doesn’t feel that he fits in anymore and is having a hard time adjusting. These two have an attraction to each other and he feels a pull towards her. He has felt more alive since meeting her. They have chemistry together and feel a desire for one another. What does the future hold for Perrin and Emiliano? Will they learn to trust each other? Will they begin to heal each other? Will they find happiness together? Read this story to find out. This is a book in which the characters go through many different emotions and face different situations in their lives. I could empathize with them and found my emotions going up and down with theirs. There are heartbreaking moments and also heartwarming ones as well. I found myself caring for both Perrin and Emiliano with each chapter that I read, and I was rooting for them to find happiness. I also enjoyed reading about the part that the additional characters played in the story and how they interacted with Perrin and Emiliano. The bantering back and forth between characters had me with a smile on my face. There are also serious moments that make you think. This is a story that I found myself thinking about even after I had finished reading it. Highly recommended.
Blake Blessing has woven an enlightening, strong, heart wrenching tale of a Soldiers life, post deployment. Perrin meets Emil when he is fighting the demons from his time in deployment. She becomes his everything. His rock and savior. When he is with her, is this only time he feels close to being back to himself. The things he witnessed and the things he had to do in order to survive continue to haunt his waking and sleeping hours. Perrin is the reprieve for him. However, she may not be able to hand the truth of what he had to do to keep his team, himself and his country safe. Will they survive her learning the truth? Will he get his sense of normalcy back? This is a must read for everyone. The strength it takes to become a soldier, to do what is necessary and to live with the consequences of doing what was needed. Blake Blessing honors our military men and women with the fabulous tale.
