Second Chance romances are definitely on the top of my favorite listens and this one did not disappoint. Add in some illegal activity and sports and you have a book that will keep you from hitting pause and listening the whole way through. Overall a fun listen with some really good narration.
I was surprised in a good way by this story. It did a great job mixing several different genres. It’s more than just football/mafia, but I won’t elaborate on all due to spoilers. I’m not usually big on mafia romance, but, maybe due to the mixed genres, it wasn’t too far into the mafia world. It was more about being on the edge of the mafia world. The ending wrapped up really quickly (so quickly that I went back to listen again to see if I missed something). I would recommend this book to contemporary romance fans and I’m going to be watching for an audio version of Alex’s story.
I listened to the Audible version. Both Lacy Laurel and Logan McAllister did a great job with the narration. I would listen to both again.

Justice Bexley has been taught throughout her life to be a strong independent woman. When she became CEO and part owner of Football team. She knew right away she wanted to have Liam Blake as her quarterback. They have a romantic history, but she was the one who called it off. Liam has on his mind to play football and make her life miserable. Bring in a stalker to make this interesting.
Lacy Laurel and Logan McAllister narration is very good. Giving each character their own voice and personality.

The Crossover Series
By: HJ Bellus, Kathy Coopmans
Narrated by: Lacy Laurel, Logan McAllister
Series: The Crossover Series, Book 1
What do you get when you two great authors collaborate together? One heck of a story of course, a story with plenty of drama, angst, twists, suspense and hot romance. And lets not forget to mention the great characters too, a mafia princess and a star football player. Justice Bexley is the daughter of leader of the organized crime “Diamond Syndicate”. She keeps her business on the legal side and is the owner of a new football team. Her one regret in life was letting the only man she ever loved go, she had her reasons but it broke and hardened his heart. That man being Liam Blake, a professional football player. He is recovering from an injury but that does not stop Justice from signing him to play for her new team. Her dumping him those years ago left him bitter and not interested in any longterm relationships, he has no plans to give her the time of day other than to show her what she missed out on. Things do not always go as plan. There is no denying the chemistry between them, but can he truly forgive her for breaking his heart? I loved how this story played out, it was well plotted and kept you on your toes and wanting to know what comes next. Really liked the family dynamics and how supportive Justice’s family was and how they looked out for her regardless of how strong and independent she was. HJ Bellus and Kathy Coopmans thank you for this great second chance romance and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Lacy Laurel and Logan McAllister are fabulous narrators and voice performers. They brought these characters to life, gave each their own voice and personality. You could hear the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen

Audiobook version:
I loved this! Great Football/Mafia romance- not a combo i had read before. Premise was great. Characters were easy to connect with. I thought this story had the perfect amount of heat, action, and story. Narration was fabulous. I love Lacy’s narrations~
Once upon a time, there were two authors. They were both amazing in their own rights. Each created a world you longed to disappear in. Each had their own way to make you feel their words. But one day they decided to team up, this is the result!
Full Contact is everything you expect from HJ Bellus and Kathy Coopmans. Whether you know the back stories for the characters or not, you will fall fast and hard. If like me you know some of the characters, you will be sporting a ridiculously huge and scary smile with all the feels flowing through you. It feels like a family reunion and a new adventure.
Full Contact is full of sexual tension, anger, and desperate longing. It’s a full assault on your senses and heart. You will smile, clench your fists, and spontaneously burst into tears. If you are slightly in the stalker realm like myself, you may consider blowing up Facebook with your uncontrollable zeal.
Full Contact will have you neglecting reality and begging for more. You will finish it in both great joy and absolute need. Trust me!

A full five stars for this amazing crossover novel! This writing duo are absolutely seamless and from the first page I was hooked. The idea to crossover The Wrath of Cain with Pinky Promise was genius.
Justice Diamond and Liam Blake are in love but she worries that her family may in someway hold Liam back so she does the unthinkable and walks away.
Seven years later she sets out to put things right………and he is determined to make her pay for all the hurt she caused but a love as strong and pure as theirs doesn’t just give up. As things start to come together for the couple, outside forces are determined to break them apart. Hold on to your seats, things could get ugly.
A beautifully emotive seamless story of second chances and strong family bonds.
“I’m nothing but a football player without her. With her, I’m a man.”
Wow! For me, this is the second book by this writing duo that I have read because I read Book Two, TOXIC, first, and as each is a stand-a-lone, I didn’t feel lost in any way. Although, I have to say that I now know that TOXIC picks up exactly where FULL CONTACT ends.
HJ Bellus and Kathy Coopmans have joined together to create an exciting Suspenseful Romance series in a spin off from the worlds of both authors.
Straight off we meet Justice Bexley and Liam Blake, Mafia Princess and Football player, both at college and both from strong loving families, but with completely different backgrounds. Liam is heading toward being the next big thing in the NFL after his own father, whereas Justice loves her family but is ashamed of their legacy, and believes it is going to taint and ruin Liam’s rise to the top. She’s leaving him, sacrificing her love in order for him to achieve his goal, breaking not only both of their hearts, but mine in the process!!!
Fast forward seven years, and although Liam has achieved his dream in getting to the top, his heart is empty, and he almost loses it all in a devastating careering ending injury. Likewise for Justice, she may be part owner of a football stadium now, and looking to build a team of the best, but the last seven years have been hard on her as well, and she wants Liam, now he’s worked his way back to health and is looking for a second chance. There is so much bitterness and heartbreak between them as told in their own POV, and this is something that could re-break their hearts, or mend them. Wow again, this was an awesome ride!
It’s also their parents and the whole family dynamic that really pulls this story together. Yep, the Mafia background is acknowledged albeit glossed over, but, their stories, each by HJB and Kathy Coopmans are equally as compelling, and it’s this experience that they bring to the table for their respective children. So, no immature game playing, Justice and Liam acknowledge, learn and move on – mostly! Adding to the drama is the escalating attentions of someone stalking Justice.
What I loved – Princess Rowe and her extreme use of her favourite word – a$$hole. She’s just the best, and her presence acted as an often hilarious way to relieve the most tense of family situations, I was rapt to see more of Rowe and the rest of Liam’s family in this book. It just happens that Pinky Promise, about Liam’s parents Baylor Jones and Stayton Blake is my favourite HJ Bellus book. All up, the book had me so engaged that I resented work, family and sleep until I was finished. 5 Stars.
I think its sweet that even in pain Liam won’t let his woman go, “…As he rounds the corner, I hear it happen before he cries out in pain. A loud thump, followed by, “Son of a ****h!”as he howls in pain. I can’t help but laugh. “Jesus Christ.”I howl in laughter as he dances around with me in his arms…” I really liked Liam, the man had swagger, “Oh, baby, can’t help my natural charisma.” Liam strides toward me. His sweaty body presses into mine along with droplets of water falling from his hair…” I enjoyed this book, I thought Bellus and Coopmans made one heck of a team, I hope to see more from them.
“Our futures are leading us down two separate paths, and it’s unfair that not even love is powerful enough to merge them into one.”
Fantastic 2nd chance romance with familiar characters that I have loved in previous books from both Authors!! Hot, steamy, angsty, and two characters that burnt up my kindle with their banter and antics. Exciting, romantic, and suspenseful! At one point I was in tears (Happy of course). It gets you right in the feels and I couldn’t put it down. Justice and Liam are a must read! I thank the Authors for providing a copy to review!
“She’s deep inside of me, and there is no way anyone will remove her without reducing me to a pile of nothing. I’m a man who will go to the core of the earth to protect her.”

These ladies! HJ and Kathy together as a writing team is amazing! This crossover was something else. Where you could read it without reading the Syndicate Series by Kathy, or Pinky Promise by HJ I wouldn’t suggest it. You would still get the idea of it but the previous books make it so much more enjoyable. Yes, Justice’s family had a bigger role in the story than Liam’s, but what do you expect? They are the darn mafia 😀
State, Baylor and Rowe. Oh Rowe! I was so happy to catch up with her.
Two of my fave genres mixed into one book — SCORE! This was a fantastic read! And while it is a “crossover” novel in that it takes characters from one of Kathy’s series and one of HJ’s you can easily just pick up this book and enjoy! Of course you may end up loving it so much that you just HAVE to check out where these characters started ‘)
A sports/mafia romance delivered by two talented authors …how could you not love it!
Liam he is talented, smart, handsome and raised to play the game of football. His father has high standings in the NFL and also strict standards for his son on the playing field. DO not let anything get in the way of his future and keep your eye on the prize.
Justice she was born in to the Bexley family their business is high stakes and confidential. The are the leaders of the Diamond Syndicate and highly feared and respected. When theses two worlds collide while the at college their lives will never be the same.
Love , Lust , Forever….Justice knows that to protect Liam and let him become the man he is to be that she must walk away. She does and she is never the same. Liam has never forgotten his true love and what she walked away from.
He agrees to a meeting by her family and the league they represent . Does he want revenge , is he tainted , does he still believe in love.
The push and pull of these characters is truly a joy to read. They each are strong willed , wanting the best and needing to prove themselves on their own. Will love eventually prevail or family pride take the best thing they have ever known?

What do you get when you pair two utterly amazing authors together to write a book? Utter pure gold! I found myself so engrossed in Full Contact that I could not put it down at all! I will admit I have never read Pinky Promise but I have read the whole Syndicate series. So the whole mix up of football and mob was a brilliant concept. There were a lot of moments of heartbreak, but there were so many of passion and rebuilding. I loved Justice and Liam together. Their passion for each other but also their wanting to protect each other was amazing.
Overall, this was a perfect blend of two types of troupes. I love each author individually but together it was magic. If you love the grit of the mob and the playfulness of football, this book is for you!
5 Full Blown Stars!!!
Kathy Coopmans and HJ Bellus are one of my favorite duo authors. Every book they write continues to prove why. HJ Bellus took her Pinky Promise family and melded them with Kathy’s Syndicate Series AKA The Diamond Empire.
Justice is the daughter of Cain and Calla who’re just two of the top dogs of the Diamond Empire. She knows all about her mob family. Justice doesn’t want any part of it. She loves her family, but she’s embarrassed. Justice loves Liam and wants the best for him. She knows he’s going to go far in the NFL like his dad. Which is why she must leave him. She doesn’t want her connection to the mob bring him down. Justice loves Liam so much that she’s willing to walk away from him before her baggage brings him down.
Liam has loved football since he could hold a football. His father was a God in the NFL. Liam wants a love like his parents. He thought that was going to be Justice. Then, she left him out of nowhere without a word except for the letter she left him. Liam’s full of anger because of it. Now that he’s making a comeback from an injury he’s itching to prove everyone wrong. He’s shocked the brand new team wanting him belong to the Diamond empire. And, one of the owners wanting him is no other then his Justice. He’ll play on the team. Just to make her life hell. But, then she walked in and his hostility lessened. Now, Liam has new plans and it’s surrounding Justice.
Liam and Justice are perfect for each other. Even though they’ve been apart for 4yrs their sexual tension and their intuition is still strong and sizzling hot. But, everything isn’t peachy. They’re trying to take things slow and gain their trust back. Then, somebody starts following Justice and it’s getting creepy. Justice finally tells Liam, her dad, Uncle Roan and cousin Alex.
I legit couldn’t put this down. Not only did I fall for Liam and Justice. But, Baylor, State, Cain, Calla and Roan are all there grown up and all protective bad ass parents protecting their kids. And, Rowe’s here grown as well. She’s still the shining light in everyone’s lives.
I’m looking forward to Alex’s story bc he went through a lot. He did things he told himself he never would. Even though it was to save someone he loves. It messed him up. And, Justice will do anything to get her cousin back.
WOW! Full Contact is an amazing crossover novel by Kathy Coopmans and HJ Bellus! This mafia family collides with football family story takes you on quite an emotional roller coaster ride. With some very interesting twists and turns; this story drew me in from the very beginning! I couldn’t wait to see where the story would take us next.
I really loved the main characters, Liam and Justice; but I loved their families just as much. My absolute fave character, though, was Rowe. She brought some really hilarious moments to the story!
Full Contact was such a fun story to read! I hope that Kathy Coopmans and HJ Bellus collaborate again in the future!
What happens when two of your favourite authors do a second generation crossover….. BOOK HEAVEN happens. Full Contact is the story of Liam (The son of State & Baylor from Pinky Promise) and Justice (The daughter of Cain & Calla from The Wrath of Cain). Their story is a second chance romance and is what beautiful love stories are made of. As some of our favourites make appearances in their story it is like visiting and catching up with old friends. Full Contact has a little of everything to satisfy all romance readers. It has just the right amount of grit, suspense, drama and even some funny moments. The chemistry and love between Liam and Justice is off the charts not to mention these two absolutely sizzle any time they are near each other. These ladies have done an amazing job with this crossover and I can’t wait for more from this series because I am totally addicted.
WOW, just WOW!
First, I want to say if you want to read an emotional book, these two ladies Kathy Coopmans and H. J. Bellus, either together or separately, KNOW how to write an emotional read. They know how to pull those emotional feelings right out of the reader, BIG TIME.
Justice Bexley loves her family, she just hates what they do. She loves Liam Blake even more, enough to break up with him to protect him from becoming involved with her family in any way. She absolutely knows he is meant for greatness, and feels that she will hamper that chance. However, in doing so, she broke Liam’s heart.
Now, years later fate has brought Liam and Justice back together. Justice is partial owner of the football team that Liam has just signed with. He has something to prove. Both to Justice and the world.
OMG!!! I absolutely LOVED watching these two come back together, re-establishing their love for each other. The chemistry, OFF THE CHARTS.
Speaking of “Off the Charts” Kathy Coopmans and H. J. Bellus, in my honest opinion, you definitely have a winner in this phenomenal, emotional, book.
I was gifted with an advance copy of this book for my reading pleasure and my honest opinion of the book. Let me put it this way, I did an all-nighter, I could not stop reading it. I LOVED this book.
Kudos Ms. Bellus, and Ms. Coopmans.
