There’s nothing pretty about murder.Meet Toni Diamond, make up artist to middle America. She’s got a nose for trouble and a passion for solving mysteries. Imagine Columbo in a lavender suit. She never met a woman who wouldn’t look better with a little help from the Lady Bianca line of cosmetics. But don’t be fooled by appearances. Underneath the fake diamonds and the big hair is a sharp brain and … brain and a keen eye that sees the details as well as the funny side of life. When a Lady Bianca sales rep is murdered at the annual convention in Dallas, Toni is the one who notices things that some people, like sexy Detective Luke Marciano, might easily miss. Only someone who understands as much about how to make appearances deceiving could see into the mind of this killer — a murderer who wants to give Toni a permanent makeover. Into a dead woman.
At the sales convention, Toni has to deal with her arch rival Nicole Freedman, a woman who would stab Toni in the back if it would get her the coveted top sales award. She’s got her own beauty consultants to encourage, her mother who’s taken Dolly Parton as her pattern and her patron saint, her daughter Tiffany, who, at sixteen, is mortified by everything her mother does. Including breathing.
In this humorous, cozy mystery, complete with a wily and entertaining amateur female sleuth, a sexy police officer, a murder or two, a little comedy and some racy scenes, a suburban cosmetics sales woman matches wits with a fiendish murderer.
New York Times Bestselling author Lori Foster calls Nancy Warren’s writing ‘sexy and wonderfully witty.’

I could really identify with this story because I used to sell skin care products and makeup. Well-enough written.
Quick read. Felt the police detective a more developed character than Ms. Diamond. The cosmetic convention theme & marketing was a bit much for me.
Fun filled mystery with plenty of excitement and humour. Delightful and entertaining.
If you’ve ever skirted past the cosmetic counter to avoid being asked to try a product and you love sassy sleuths, then this book is for you. The mystery is well thought out, but it is the larger-than-life characters that keep you turning the page—just to see what they are going to do or say next. I laughed my way through the book and am ready to …
It’s a takeoff on Beauty Consultants & cosmetics sold by home parties.
Easy-to-read cozy with humor, mystery and romance along with engaging characters.
It was my pleasure to receive this free book and give my honest review.
Cute series-wish she would write more.
Simple read, interesting plot.
It was entertaining.
Book was great! Will look for other books by this author.
A Toni Diamond mystery: she is a cosmetic sales director (think Mary Kay meets Amway) and is somehow always involved in a murder. Fun read.
Juvenile
Fun, great characters and an easy, engaging read! I want to keep up with this series, found myself enjoying it more than I thought because of its accuracy in depicting an interesting subculture and it’s Texas characters.
Light reading….fun to read
Vastly Entertraining. I really like the main Character and plan on reading more from the series.
Toni Diamond is is a wonderful character, with very real problems. She doesn’t sugar coat and some of these issues are issues we all face.
cute idea, shallow characters. Nice mindless reading if you need a vacation from thinking.
I enjoyed this book it was cleverly written and is a humorous entertaining quick read.
Murder is the top topic at the Lady Bianca make up convention. Tony Diamond is a top sales woman with many Lady Bianca sales reps on her sales team. Nicole is her arrival sales rep. When Nicole turns up murdered, Tony is the one who finds her. Can an alluring policeman, Luke, find the killer at the convention before he (or she) kills again?
It was a good book with interesting characters but the author talked too much about cosmetics and wrote a full chapter about the first time the two main characters were intimate.; which turned me off. I prefer clean books.
