After years of running, Quinn has finally found a town to settle down in while she searches for the man who tore her life apart. Despite her every intention not to, she’s started to put down some roots and make friends. However, the small bit of solace she’s found is quickly shattered when a group of vampires walk into the bar where she works and turn her life upside down.
Looking only to … to stop for a few nights and have a good time, Julian never expected to stumble across someone like Quinn. Determined to keep her free from the vampires looking to use her as a weapon, Julian is stunned to discover himself starting to care for the mysterious woman with a dark past she’s unwilling to reveal. It doesn’t take him long to realize that the vampires after her are only a part of the problem. This quiet little town is hiding a violent secret of its own; a secret that not only threatens the town, but Quinn in particular.

Interesting characters, story full of intrigue, suspense and action.
Storyline is different than most pnr‘s out there. Will be interesting to see where the next story Arctic Fire, book two, takes us next.
Meghan Kelly did an awesome job narrating.
Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession
This is a great fast paced story. It really took me on a ride and I didn’t know what was going to happen next. The characters were multi level and the author had me hoping for the best for them.
I did listen to this on audio and Meghan Kelly did a wonderful job. She really helped draw me into the story with her different voices.
Great book that kept my attention the entire time. Looking forward to more books by Erica Stevens. Loved Meghan’s narration.

I really would have preferred a lot more action in a book of this nature. What did come across was that there was a lot of continuous background information and not enough story and that should have been the other way around.
However, the characters, Quinn and Julian were both rather interesting and each had their own bits of quirkiness. I did enjoy their characters and their interaction.
The audio version really lifts the story and I enjoyed listening to Megan Kelly, the narrator.
I listened to the audiobook version and my review above is given voluntarily and is unbiased.
Terrific Story & Audible Listen A Fascinating PNR
Frost Burn
The Fire & Ice Series, Book 1
By: Erica Stevens
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
This book is action packed with interesting storylines that I found captivating from start to end. Erica Stevens created an imaginative and fascinating world where vampires are real and live amongst humans. Some of these vampires are like no other, they have their own unique powers while others are just ordinary blood suckers. The world dynamics amongst the vampires is changing, there is upheaval and some are trying to gain power which puts both vampires and humans at risk. Julian, a vampire is working with a team where each has their own supernatural power. They are working to get rid of the evil trying to take over. They meet Quinn an extraordinary being turned vampire, she plays down her powers and lives her life as an ordinary human tending bar at night. Julian takes a liking to her, he is curious about her and her powers. They find out she is being hunted by the evil ones, they want her for her powers, they can be used to gain power. Julian and the others will protect her. Quinn also has her own secrets and a vendetta, she wants the vampires responsible for killing her family. There is never a dull moment in this book, from the heartbreak Quinn suffered to the drama of the current time, there are twists, angst, some suspenseful moments and some heartfelt ones. Erica Stevens, thank you for another great story, I am looking forward to see what comes next for these great characters.
I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the talented Meghan Kelly. She is a wonderfully entertaining storyteller and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own distinct voice and personality which makes it easy to follow the story & everyone in it. She does an amazing job projecting the emotions of the characters as well as the drama of the story into her performance. It is always a pleasure to listen to her work, she has a great ability to enhance an already great story another level. Thank you for another great listen
This story wasn’t to bad however it did seem to progress slower then I liked. I also found both main characters fairly annoying.
It says you don’t have to read the Kindred series before reading the Frost Burn series and while technically that’s correct, I had trouble with the first book. The book opens with all these characters and acts like I should already know them. I caught on quick but I would recommend you read the Kindred series first. They’re all great and well written. I love all her books.
Great
Kind of boring honestly
Really fun read.
Love reading this book. It was very exciting and keep me engrossed the whole time.
This was my first time reading Erica Steven’s. I got this book as a freebie what feels like forever ago. I had been reluctant to attempt to read it since most free books I end up not enjoying much. Frost Burn was surprisingly good and I enjoyed reading about the vampires and their abilities. Quinn is a strong female on the outside but inside is carrying shame and a huge secret. Julian is an Elder vampire that has mended his viciousness to only those who deserve it. The banter between the two had me cracking up and kept me entertained between the action during the slower parts of the book.
A twist on the normal vampire book, looking to continue the series
Loved it
Can’t wait to read the other two in the series
Great first book in the series. Can’t wait to read the others.
Very engagingly character’s and fun exciting read. Left me serching for all her books. I will be reading more from this author.
If you enjoy paranormal, this is a good read. I enjoyed the strong female lead and the play between the two romantic characters as they develop their relationship.
Great first book to start a new series. I finished it quickly because I couldn’t put it down and had to get the rest of the set!
A short story. Interesting but character development was cut short. An easy read but no surprises.
