I enjoyed this book so much! I even laughed out loud at times while listening to it. I’ll even pass the recording to my daughter who is raising goats, chickens and a garden as well as children.

This is a touching book of family life on a cattle ranch. Some parts can make you misty and others are laugh out loud funny.

If you follow the Pioneer Woman, you will definitely enjoy this book. She’s down to earth and “real”.

Yes, I picked this book for a fun, light read. I knew it would be funny, and so Ree, because I read “From Black Heels to Tractor Wheels” and got to “meet you” and “know you” a little bit. I hadn’t heard of you until an acquaintance had just read it and mentioned it in conversation. I have read that love story twice. I didn’t know you wrote a book during the pandemic. (I mean, obviously I know now. I got a copy from the library consortium.) Good for you! I know EXACTLY what you mean. Here’s my own quote about isolation: “You have GOT to be joking. I’m going insane. I’ve never been around people this much in my entire life.” I cannot relate to loneliness. I work from home and used to say, “If I can just hold onto this job until the kids get in school, it’ll be the perfect job.” And it was. And now I work from home still, and the kids do school here and they’re never going back. You are RIGHT about the homeschool stuff, like, all of it. The whole bit. The bathtub…I’m about to have a dream come true and HAVE a bathtub for the first time, but that won’t happen to me. You did great but oh my goodness! (and earlier in the book) You worded it perfectly and I DO understand, “the handful of times a year when you find yourself suddenly awash with extreme happiness and joy–and it feels like everything is 100 percent okay and lovely and wonderful?” So glad I know that one! So glad you do too! Other favorites were “A Tale of Two Families,” and “20 Interesting things.” Oh, and the quiz. Fun! Seriously, this book is full of “writing prompts” and I’ve already started using them. I should share this book with the guild. This is a book I might just purchase, (I don’t actually BUY a lot of books–eek, space) which means I’ll buy the first one too, so then I’ll have both, because I also don’t re-read things very often, but I’ve already re-read your first one so it might be a sign. Thanks! I’ve never seen your show or your magazine but have seen your pretty kitchen things in stores, and … I own a Ree Drummond frying pan. Two of them, actually. One was a gift from my husband…for Valentine’s Day last year. (I thought you might appreciate that too!) I would love to sit and watch and hear your children’s story at church! I would love to chat with you, which is probably why this isn’t really a review, but like a “if she really got to read this, that would be cool” kind of thing. But I also AM being honest in this “review.”

No tv so haven’t watched Ree’s Food Network show in years. I enjoyed carching up on the children and what Ree has been up to since then. An enjoyable read.

“Frontier Follies” by Ree Drummond made me laugh out loud. I highly recommend it. A much-needed escape from the reality of the craziness (not the good kind) it our world today.

I enjoy watching The Pioneer Woman tv show and thought this book might be good. It was! Ree Drummond gives us snippets of her life on the range and it’s just fun.
