It was like seeing a ghost. When my late husband’s twin brother moves back to our small town, I want to avoid him. Everything about Wes reminds me of the man I lost and the life we’d planned together, and after eighteen long months struggling just to get out of bed, I’m finally doing okay. I have a new job, an amazing support group, and a beautiful five-year-old daughter to parent. I don’t want … don’t want to go backward.
But I’m drawn to him, too. He understands my grief and anger and guilt like no one else—and I understand his. Before long, that understanding becomes desire, and that desire becomes uncontrollable.
He says he doesn’t care what people think, and love can never be wrong. But life has taught me its cruelest lesson–love doesn’t always win.
If only my heart would believe it.

Hannah is a single mother trying to pick up the pieces of her broken life after losing her husband unexpectedly, and for the most part she is getting things back on track. She has provided a mostly stable environment for her daughter to grow and flourish in, she has a job that she enjoys, and a good group friends who support her and keep her sane. Things are almost taking on a normal look for them… but then her husbands twin brother returns home after a long stint in Africa and while she is excited to see him after all this time, she is also petrified that it will completely derail her new life. He is a walking, spitting image, of the man who claimed her heart, and a constant reminder of what she’s lost…
Wes knows he has been away far too long, but he needed time away to heal after losing his brother, but he is ready to stop running now, and face the family he left behind. He knows him coming around maybe rough for his loved ones, since he is a reminder of what they lost, but he also knows they need him too. Facing his brother’s widow will be his hardest challenge, not only because he is a physical reminder of the man she lost, but also because of his deep seated feelings for her. At one time he thought she would be his, but he foolishly let her slip away, into her brothers arms, and it has haunted him everyday since… if only there was a chance for them now.
From This Moment is a beautifully crafted tale of forgiveness, healing, and discovering love again after a heartbreaking loss. I have to say this one turned out to be quite the impressive first read for me, there wasn’t a single time that my attention strayed… it had me completely engrossed from start to finish! The story line was rich with emotion, it stirred up my thoughts and made me feel, and had my heart feeling like it was in a vise more than a few times. I loved this story, it pushed boundaries, made me sit up and take notice, and was a fresh take on a single parent story, definitely one of the best first reads I have devoured this year!! Highly recommend you give this one a chance, it’s a moving tale that you won’t be able to put down!!
