“Pipe”In every man’s life there comes a day of reckoning. It’s the day darkness is exposed and sinners are punished for their trespasses.A day when loyalty is destroyed and a man is left in ruins. When he walks away from his club and loses his religion.Whoever said from the ruins they will rise again never walked a mile in my shoes or the pair of red ones I was left holding.“Layla”He’s bitter, … holding.
“Layla”
He’s bitter, cold and angry.
He’s seen his share of heartache.
Lived through tragedy and despair.
He’s my neighbor.
The man I know should stay away from.
The man who will destroy what’s left of me if I get too close.
He’s Lee Jameson, and I’m Layla Milano.
This is our story.
The story of two people left in ruins forced to rise again.

Truth, this book will give you inspiration, enlightenment and show you even the broken can rise from the ruins. As a huge fan of the Nomads series and feeling like I became Property Of Parrish after reading them, I thought there was no way Janine Infante Bosco could grab hold of my heart any tighter with her words than she had. Truth, I was wrong, oh so effing wrong!!! From the moment I read the authors note to the readers she had already made me laugh and cry and I hadn’t even started the story. Pipe was a sinner and a man so ruined that he thought there was no return so he threw what mattered the most away, his family, his brothers and his club. What he didn’t count on was a divorced Mum of 3 that in her own way had been ruined. Layla may have been down but in no way was this woman out. She had strength, determination and a heart so big that I don’t even think she realised what she was capable of. In showing Lee that he was more than Pipe she also came to accept that she was braver and more resilient than she gave herself credit for. As these two characters rise from the ashes of their past, it is pure love and truth that finally sets them both free. From The Ruins is about mourning, acceptance, truth, love, risk and family. Janine you took me on one hell of a ride with this book. You made me cry, broke my heart, made me smile and showed me that their is a hidden strength in all of us and when one chapter ends another begins. So for me this wasn’t the end of Property Of Parrish it was just the beginning.
Oh my god, this book is one emotional doozy, I mean I cry like a little girl as I’m reading Pipe’s story. I’m so happy he was able to move on, it’s not something that’s easy to do. I love Layla for his love interest, she’s sassy and not afraid to tell you off especially when it comes to her kids, I can’t wait for the next one.
I saw where one reviewer wanted to know how this author’s books could just keep getting better with each new book and I feel the same way. I did not want this book to end and I know I’m going to re-read it very soon. I’ve followed this series and these characters seem to grab hold of me and not let me go. But it should be noted this book can be read as a stand alone. If you read the entire series I can assure you will want to be “Property of Parrish”, the president of the club.
Pipe has faced devastation with the death of his wife and leaves the club angry and feeling guilty because neither he nor his club protected his wife. He gives up his patch and forsakes all of his brothers but Jack the Bulldog doesn’t let him go so easily. Pipe makes a shrine of those red shoes and goes on a self destructive path. Then his world is shaken when Layla and her three children move into the house next door. Layla is trying to prove to herself that she is worthy, independent after getting out of a bad marriage. The relationship between Pipe and Layla builds slowly and they both rise from their own ruins. It’s a second chance at life, a chance for redemption and a chance for a deep, true love that makes them both better people. Yes, Pipe finally lays Oksana to rest and leaves her in the past but he will always have a place in his heart for her. Layla understands this and is fine with it. I especially loved Pipe’s relationship with the kids. His actions with those kids showed exactly what a good man he was.
I highly recommend this book as well as the books preceding it. I can’t wait for the story to continue with another one that becomes “Property of Parrish.” I swear I love that Jack Parrish. This is the best book I think I’ve read this year.
Two shattered, cynical people have all but given up on the idea of finding any kind of companion.
Lee doesn’t think he’s worthy, everyone he claims and cares for gets taken from him in the most vile ways. His sense of deja vu is heartbreaking. and enough to make him think twice.
Layla is a single mother of 3 that takes herself out of the game after her failed marriage, to put her children first. They are having a rough go of it and just when she thinks it can’t get much worse, she meets her new arse of a neighbor who seems to thrive on being a jerk.
This isn’t a hearts and flowers story, but if you’ve read any of the Knights before this, you already know that. What you will get is raw, real emotion. Situations that aren’t ideal, but are exactly what these two need. Will they overcome the obstacles that they and others put in front of them or will they decide it’s not worth the risk and walk away, he’s done it before, is it becoming a habit or will Pipe finally find his heart?
Gah….I am so in love with the Satan’s Knights!!!
I was not sure how Pipe’s story was going to go but………
I was a-f**kin-mazing!!
I loved all of it and I can’t even go into details because it will ruin(no pun intended) it for you, but if you love broody, broken, dirty talkin bikers and funny, independent, strong women then this is FOR YOU!!!
First Timer
I received this book in my Romance Revel Book Box and I’m so happy they introduced me to this series and author. I figured it would be a standard MC book however it was so different and addicting that it hooked you from the beginning. I can’t wait to read other books by this author!
From The Ruins is Janine Infante Bosco best book yet! I loved the story, it was fast paced, exciting, emotional and just so good! The characters were well developed and so real. Loved Pipe’s from earlier books, and I’m so glad that I got to read his story. Layla and her kids were amusing and just wonderful. I Loved loved seeing past characters!! I really loved this MC read and I can’t wait to read the next book from this author.
What can I say, at the risk of repeating myself yet again, Janine you leave me speechless with this. I was balling my eyes from the prologue. This book ripped my heart out a bit but I LOVED every moment of it. I could not put this book down once I started reading. You have out done yourself once again. You can’t help but fall for them and route for them to get together. LOVED little Lexi, she was the cutest. You have me as a fan of your books forever, so glad I found you. Keep up the amazing writing you do.
Oh Man!!! Janine had me crying so much in this book.. From The Ruins is a very emotional story about lost, revenge, brotherhood, family, love and being the Property of Parrish. This story was a great addition to the Satan’s Knights MC series.
Pipe and layla forever and ever

This book is one that I can truely say that rip my heart out . Janine you wrote a amazing book but it’s just not a book nor a story really it’s poetary at its best. Pope and layla’s story is one in a million from a badass biker who lost his word to a single mother with three beautiful kids to the up and downs. This story hit home for me it touch my soul and my heart. I can relate this this book on so many daym levels it was so hard to read. I cried laugh and threw alot of crap when I read this book. Anyways this book came from the heart and soul of Janine and I was so happy to read it . Thank you
This story…this story, was out of this world amazing. I loved every piece and every word on the pages. Book hangover for sure. I loved the characters and the emotions that shown on the pages more then any other story I have read well besides Victor’s story can’t help but cry at his. Anyways this story will get you on the edge of your seat and makes you feel the love, passion, hate and sadness on all the pages. This story comes with heart be prepared to get the tears flowing and the love coming out in spades. I was amazing once again at the writing this author has done. Between fighting my health issues I felt bad that it took me forever to read but holy smokes did Janine blow all the other novels I have read this year out the ball park. Lee “Pipe” is this older alpha male who has had hard life and things get even harder for him at the start of the story, you feel sad for him but at the same time his @$$holish ways comes out on the pages and you can’t but get angry for the way he is but love him at the same time. Layla this chick is hard core to the bone. She’s this super strong and independent woman who doesn’t let her hard life get her or the kids down. The same characters really stick around in all the novel its amazing to see each of them grow. I really enjoyed how this story took off with Pipe’s past leading up to the present right on talking in his POV the wedding that destroys so much for everyone. The ending of this story was another tear jerker, one in which I was happy for the outcome and how everything played out in the last 3 chapters really made me turn the pages even faster and faster, then the last page happens and I’m like that’s it no more Pipe and Layla’s story, which then got me thinking that I have a new fav, lol move over Blackie and Lacey. This is one story you don’t want to miss out on reading. I would read the other stories in order so you know what the hell Pipe is talking about but for the most part you’ll love it like I do. Oh don’t forget the Property of Parrish still stands. I’m so glad I really took my time and just sat and savored every word on every page. MUST READ.
“From the ruins they shall rise. And another. The harder the fall, the more beautiful the climb back up will be”
***I received this ARC for free in exchange for my honest thoughts**
PERFECTION! There really is no other way to put it. Janine Infante Bosco is just brilliant. The truths in this book, both hers and her characters take this story to an entirely different level. Holding nothing back, she tells these truths. She owns them as do her characters. The story itself is incredible. Janine takes you on one hell of an emotional ride. And while it’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah, Janine pulls it all together brilliantly and leaves you begging for more.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
In every man’s life there comes a day of reckoning. It’s a day of darkness is exposed and sinners are punished for their trespasses. Its a day when Pipe’s loyalty is destroyed and he is left in ruins. It’s the day Pipe walks away from his club and loses his religion. Whoever said from the ruins they will rise again never walked a mile in Pipe’s shoes or the pair of red ones he was left holding.
Layla knows a few things about Pipe. He is bitter, cold, angry and has seen his share of heartache. He has live through tragedy and despair. Pipe is her neighbor. He is also the man she should stay away from. A man who will destroy what is left of her if she gets to close. He is Lee Jameson and I am Layla Milano. This is our story. A story of two people left in ruins and forced to rise again.
Hello Pipe……I have been waiting for you and your story!!! Holy cow what a story it is too. It is so much more than I ever thought it would be and I’m still reeling a day after finishing this book and can’t stop thinking bout From The Ruins. Pipe has always through all the previous books I have read from Janine Infante Bosco been a character that I loved and knew that I wanted to know more about. He has suffered such loss in his life. So much more than we as readers of past books were aware of. His childhood absolutely crushed me along with the loss of his wife which all but destroyed Pipe. He is beyond done and he has no problem letting everyone in the club know he is done and to leave him the heck alone. He wants absolutely nothing to do with the club and no longer wants to be “Property of Parrish.” Enter Layla who bless her heart had a marriage that has ended in divorce and is a single mother of three trying to care for them and work at the same time but has had to move several times and the last time she ends up living right next to Pipe. If there has ever been a defining moment in two broken peoples lives it is the moment that Layla and Pipe laid eyes on each other. Oh Layla….how I loved your strength, your courage, your heart as a mother and your broken heart as a woman who just wants love and be loved the way they deserve. I loved how she put her kids first in everything. She also has no trouble speaking her mind and I loved that about her too. I’ve found myself today wondering what their lives would have been like if Pipe and Laya had met years ago and not had to live through what they lived through. I don’t know that they would have appreciated what one had to offer the other as much as they do in the book. Struggles make us stronger and devastation tends to be rock bottom and there is no where to go but up. You will just have to read this amazing book to see what their journey entails. I am not giving anything away but I will say that if I was Layla I’d love Pipe myself for just the way he loved my kids like they were his own. He had me there. A mother wants the best for her children and she wants a man to love them just as his own even if they didn’t come from his blood. Pipe is an excellent example of a man who fell in love with a mother of three with a sixteen year old son Tommy who needs the example of a good man in his life. A thirteen year old daughter Jenna who we all as girls know is struggling with all the changes in her world and then there is six year old Lexi the girl who draws him as a superhero and stole Pipe’s heart in right that second I do believe. He might not admit it but I so knew he was done for right there. Lexi too is hilarious and adds just the right amount of giggles to deal with all the things in this book that will tear year heart out. I can’t count how many times I had tears running down my face while reading. I surprised myself since I already knew parts of Pipe’s story from previous books but living it all through his eyes just about devastated my poor little heart. A Layla….ooh how I could relate to her for so many reason. Some of them far to personal to talk about in a book review.
Janine Infante Bosco has blown my away once again. Thank you so much for writing this book. Thank you for the moments I will hold in my heart when things seem hopeless or the day I feel especially alone. Thank you for pouring your heart and soul into this book and for sharing yourself with us. I know it couldn’t have been easy and I want you to know you have to be one of the bravest, best mommies in the world. If you don’t pick up this book and read it you are missing out on one of the best books every written. Trust me too once you do read this one if you have not read any other Janine Infante Bosco books you will be going back and reading everything you can get your hands on. I make it no secret that I love this author. She is my she could write a book about anything and I would devour it with just as much vigor and excitement as I did the first book I ever read from her.
Pipe and Layla’s story was amazing. Once again Janine gives you a book that will suck you in from page one and give you all the feels. My heart broke time and time again not just for Pipe but Layla as well. Janine knows just how to break your heart, put it back together, just to break it once again.
From the Ruins can be read as a standalone. But I highly recommend reading the Nomad series first 3 books. No, you will not be lost if you don’t read them but I think it rounds all of it out a lot better having known some of the issues leading up to Pipe’s story. You don’t get much MC in this book but that’s quite alright with me. Janine still delivers a beautifully written book that I could not put down and had me wiping my eyes many different times as tears welled up.
This is an emotional read and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But will Pipe lay down his patch forever? Can Layla who is pure and untouched by his world be what he needs to move on or will he continue his destructive path? Find out today when you get From the Ruins.
WOW, talk about such a wonderful book!! Janine just keeps showing us with each book how much her talent grows with each book by giving us delivering a book that somehow is even better than the others. Yes this book can be read as a standalone but I so happy that I’ve read the others so I know how everything has progressed and what everyone’s story was. You aren’t going to get much MC in this book but it was so beautiful. The fact that Janine put so much of herself just gave it that much more and your heart absolutely breaks because of all the emotion that is in it.
This book was a beautiful story that was about two people that have lost in life in two very different ways but none the less have to figure out a way to go on it life. Layla is the perfect woman for Pipe. She somehow is able to bring him out of his downward spiral when no one else could without realizing exactly what she is doing. Pipe just wants to do whatever he can to forget what he has lost and he is self destructing in the process until a spunky neighbor and her kids come barreling in his life. He can finally forget for a bit what has happened and that is something he loves and he hates. The guilt is so consuming and could put what happiness he could find in danger. Layla is drawn to Pipe but she wants to do whatever she can for her children to make their lives better and with Pipe not being the most reliable that may not be him. The push and pull and constant attitude change from one day to the next may be something she needs to stay away from.
I highly recommend this book and the others in this series. Again, you don’t have to read the others, you will still love it but I’m telling you that you will love the others as well. This book has it all. You are going to get heartbreak, devastation, anger, laughs, love, steamy sex, action, and so much more. Janine did such a wonderful job with this book and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
OMG!!! This book!! Pipe and Layla were awesome! After a crappy marriage all Layla wants to do is take care of her kids and keep a roof over their head. Enter in the angry neighbor Pipe/Lee. Lee has just lost his wife and just wants to be left alone. He blames his MC club for all that has happened. Never in a million years did he expect what comes from having Kayla and her kids move in next door.
Will Layla be what Lee needs? Will he go back to his club?
The author did an amazing job!! Cannot wait for more from this talented author!!
