I was taken with the mythology of Scotland. The vivid pictures paint the background with detail and the characters bring it to another level. You have a kelpie princess who is kidnapped. But it is not what it appears to be. There are all sorts of wonderful creatures like an incubus and wraiths. It is fantasy at its best.

I was immediately drawn in from the description. I mean, how often has there been a book with a kelpie as the MC (or even a character at all)? The unusual type of being captured my interest. Macey, the MC, is a sassy, headstrong, woman who knows what she likes and what she wants, and makes no apologies for it. The book is packed with all sorts of mythologies and interesting persons throughout the adventures. There is mystery, romance, and of course, Macey doesn’t have to choose between her men. From the Deeps is a good start to a fun and intriguing series that I plan to continue reading.

Good book with a unique shifter as the main character. The storyline is good and moves fast enough to keep you interested as well.
Terrific Beginning!
A great set-up with a rapid build-up, both in action and I’m the romance department. I loved the chemistry Marcy has with each of her guys, and the different adventures they go on are a real trip. This series is setting up for some fantastic action, and I can’t wait to read the next in the series!
The story and action jumps right in and the story starts out fast. It had an interesting story line and was hot and started out RH fast. Did have a few funny spots. And the characters kind of interesting and had back stories I really wanted to understand.
This is book 1 in the series Seven Wardens written by duo Greenwood and MacKinnon. This is the beginning of Macey’s story who is a kelpie (a unique character for me) a princess and not yet grown into her powers. In this start to her journey with the Wardens. Smooth flowing storyline that kept me engaged if for no other reason that this is a new character type and world for me. Interested to see where this series will go from here.

I want to be Macey. I mean who could blame me? She lives in a captivating world. She is a bad ass. She has 3 sexy men and as an added bonus, she gets a back tattoos for each man.
The story is so well thought out that this book is a true page turner. I couldn’t put it down!
I highly recommend you buy now with one click. You won’t be disappointed.
Great job ladies!!!
Hot, Hot, Hot!
Meet Macey the newest warden, she is on the precipice of an odyssey that will stretch her powers and abilities to the limit and more. She has just met three of the six other wardens and has bonded with them in order to control her powers. This is the first installment in the exciting adventure of the “Seven Wardens) series and you will not regret adding this series to your TBR list.

Macey, am pretty sure she’s Nessie’s daughter, is amazing! She’s tough, has a good mind, bold, and knows what she wants. This book is a RH with a “bam in your face” introduction to her 3 guys but a medium burn to the “get to know each other” part of the deal. It takes a lil while to get there but after each connection is sealed Macey gains a tattoo on her back for each element that represents them. She thinks they kidnapped her and they say they rescued her. Lots of unanswered questions for both sides and the whole she’s wondering what happened to her brothers. No one seems to know. Macy wanted a quest and the Fates choose the quest/adventure for her… she gets to find out about worlds she never knew about, beings she thought were just myths and now thinks Auntie Nessie was telling true stories. She meets Storm Kelpies, a dead a dead prophet, and a cat and cu sith. She learns about the Staran and the Fath-Fiata…. which may not be what they believe them to be. This book introduces “The Voice” who is only attacking Macey, mainly because her mental walls are not that strong, Flint and Cam claim they’re really really old and have exceptionally strong shields, Jared is an Incubus and should have strong shields also but his are not as strong as Flint & Cam. The Voice gets in the head of Macey and causes her migraine type headaches and she blacks out…. causes the guys some mental anguish of their own, as they aren’t able to help her. She manages to break out of the hold but in the end it’s too much for her…. this book introduces a lot of background and the book ends on a cliff hanger and am so looking forward to the next book in the series! It does grab your interest and like a fish reels you in just let you rest a bit then reels ya in again…Enjoy!!!

Loved it, so much going on. Couldn’t put it down. Twists and turns, being unsure what is going to happen next. Mixed messages on what is happening, questions that linger after reading, making you eager to dive right into the next in the series. Reading the prequel novella gives you a bit of a leg up on the characters but it makes you eager to just keep reading. I loved this work and can’t wait to dive into the next book of the series.
Five out of five stars.

This book is one that has grabbed my attention and kept it. I am really enjoying this story. This book does leave on a cliffhanger but you are safe in that the next book is ready for you to read as the series has been completed. I congratulate the authors for a well developed world and interesting characters.

Things worked out great after all they had to go through. Was kidnapped and went to a different world. Good book!
New type of story for me, reading about a kelpie princess. She finds herself in the mix of a trio of guys and heads off on an adventure with them and they can control certain elements.
I’m curious to see how this goes in the future books and see if it explains anything that wasn’t fully cleared just yet.
From the Deeps by Laura Greenwood and Skye Mackinnon is a paranormal reverse harem that I listened to on audio narrated by Angus Yellowlees. This is the first book in the Seven Wardens Series.
I absolutely love Laura and Skye’s books! I loved this spin on Scottish mythology. I really enjoyed the relationship between Macey, Camdan, Flint and Jared.
The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t a surprise since it’s the first book in the series. I can’t wait to dive into the second book in the series Into The Mists.
Angus did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of his work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like reverse harems, paranormal romances, or Scottish mythology.

This book will set the premise for the rest of the series. There are some seriously intense scenes in this book, so if you don’t like that sort of thing, this book isn’t for you.
The book opens with us meeting Macey, she’s a kelpie currently living on land among humans. Something all young kelpies are meant to do. Unfortunately or fortunately her father has bound her powers, although she can do a partial shift or if in water shift to her kelpie form. Her brothers Bruce and Jerry, the Crown Princes are fighting, again. After threatening to call their Aunt Nettie, she had gone to read. When the lights go out, things are about to radically change for everyone.
There’s a mist surrounding the house, her brothers are unconscious and something hits her in the head as she collapses in someone’s arms.
Suffice to say Macey doesn’t exactly expect to fall for who she believes are her captors. At first there are extenuating circumstances that have her lusting after all of them, Jared’s fault. He’s an incubus who has been starving himself. Then there’s Camden who ‘saved’ her and Flint who was a just a bit annoyed, then very interested in her.
They need answers but the Staran has a mind of it’s own when they travel through it. We meet several interesting characters as the puzzle continues. They know they will need to find Ice to free Lightening and Macey keeps being attacked by a ‘Voice’ in her head. The Voice has Lightening, is leading Ice into a trap and it wants Macey. It seems to be collecting the Wardens and Macey needs her powers unlocked without returning to the loch to have her father do it.
Fast-paced with excitement, some laughs, kindle melting sizzle and so much more.
This reverse harem story was set in a world of different magical creatures.
I’m a fan of all the different creatures coming together and contributing their own special part to things. It’s what I love about RH too. That each character contributes something special to the relationship.
The overall plot of this story was good. And it was told in an interesting, entertaining way. It was certainly able to hold my attention. I also find myself interested in what’s to come.
Angus Yellowlees was a new narrator for me. And his accent was fun to listen to. The only things I found myself wishing different was some of the scenes with other “disembodied voices” and tone variations for so many characters. I found some of the disembodied voice moments a little distracting because of how it was recorded/styled. Sometimes it pulled me out of being absorbed in the story. And then I just thought there were a lot of characters but not always enough variation on tone. You definitely have to pay attention when everyone is talking together to know who’s speaking if you’re listening and not reading. Overall I liked him as a narrator. I just think I’d like him even more with less parts to play.
This book is not a standalone but part of a continuing storyline and I wouldn’t mind hearing more.

A unique story about guardians and many creatures that I haven’t heard in the same story before. I really like the writing in this book. The story flows seamlessly and it is brought to life with this narrator. I will be diving into the next in this series next.
This story was unique and very creative, delving into mythology and creatures we don’t normally find in a RH PNR. Looking forward to more of the Seven Warden series.
The narrator Angus Yellowlees was new to me, and I thought he performed the characters very well thought out the story.

Paranormal reverse harem with Scottish mythology
First, I must sing the praises of the narrator, Angus Yellowlees. His authentic Scottish accent was the perfect complement to the Scottish mythology and Scottish characters in this book, and it elevated what could have been slightly annoying dialogue into very charming dialogue. His female character voice for the heroine Macey was pleasant and believable. In addition, the narrator’s sexy voice was fantastic for the three hot men in Macy’s life and for the rest of the characters. He made a cool whispery voice for one group of paranormal people, and the villain’s voice was appropriately chilling. The narrator was also great at pacing, humor, and love scenes.
Readers, beware before you buy that this 5-hour audiobook ends on a cliffhanger, and there are seven books in this completely written series. I am okay with this, but buying the entire series on audiobook would be rather expensive unless an omnibus is released.
I liked the story, but it could have been better. I loved the Scottish mythology and certain Scottish Gaelic words throughout the novel. I think it is wonderful that the heroine is a shape-shifting kelpie because I rarely see these Scottish, finned water horses in books. The love scenes were excellent: steamy, intimate, and not too frequent. The plot was enjoyable. The book was also clever and funny sometimes, such as having Macie’s beloved aunt be the Loch Ness Monster, who likes to scare fishermen as a prank. I liked all three men, but I wish that Macie acted more maturely. She is 21 years old, but she has an annoying temper, and she insists on having petty grievances against these guys that she really likes. However, it was wonderful how the guys respected and appreciated Macie very much.
I recommend this to fans of paranormal reverse harem books. Thee four words that best describe this book are fun, sexy, dangerous, and Scottish. I plan on listening to Book #2, “Into the Mists” because I am quite invested in the characters and the plot. Also, I love the narrator and I plan to look up more of his audiobooks.

Seven Wardens Book One.
Macey and her brothers are attacked in the mist surrounding their home, but when Macey wakes up she is no longer on Earth. Camdan, the man who kidnapped her, and Flint, another man in the room, tell her she is one of the Seven Wardens. Flint dramatically explains the myth when Macey seems to know nothing of it. Later, Flint escorts Jared home after finding out he is starving himself. After the initial team has been rounded up, Macey’s mind is invaded by a voice that scares her more than anything before. He tells her that he is in control of one of the Wardens and that she will be his second. This sends the four initial Wardens out to find their mates.
If you’re looking for a new mythological story with roots outside of Greece or Italy, this is the book for you!
