“Help me. I think I’m having a heart attack.”I called 9-1-1, I thought I was dying. He showed up to rescue me, but now he wants more. Can I ever love again with a broken heart? When stuff happens fast, we say it’s in a heartbeat. In a heartbeat everything changes. In a heartbeat our world falls apart. People die in a heartbeat, that much I know. But what about love? The very reason our heart beats … love? The very reason our heart beats in the first place.
I thought my heart was killing me and that brought Byron to my door. The brave firefighter I knew once upon a lifetime ago. Like every hero, he wears scars. Mine are worn across my heart. The same one that pounds in my chest whenever I look in his eyes.
Everything that happens fast is in a heartbeat, right? That’s how long it took to think I’d die. That’s how long it took for him to walk back into my life. The question is: Is a heartbeat long enough to fall in love?

Another great story! Myra and Byron’s story sucks you in from the beginning. From the heartache to a great ending with so many emotions in between. I can’t wait for the next one this series!
Myra’s history is heartbreaking, but you can’t see her scars. Some of Byron’s scars are visible and some hidden. When Myra and Byron connect after 10 years, their feelings come to light. It’s a beautiful love story with all the feels, some ups and downs and a very happy ending. Nice addition to the Forged by Fire series. I received an ARC and voluntarily left an honest review.
Absolutely fantastic! A well written emotionally deep romance. The storyline is flawless, funny, witty, enjoyable, and very interesting. The story flows smoothly and moves along at a brisk pace with a few ups and downs and a mix of emotions on every page. The chemistry between them is intense and their sex scene is beautifully written and HOT!
Myra suffers from panic attacks so hides in her home. Byron is the hot firefighter next door, who happens to be a friend from a long time ago.
When Myra is forced to call 911 for help, Byron answers that call and their paths cross once again.
Can they both overcome their demons to take a chance at finding love? Ya have to read the book to find out. You won’t be sorry you chose this book. It catches your interest and pulls you in from the start, and keeps you hooked through it all. It reminds us that with love all things are possible. (I received this book add an ARC and couldn’t put it down!)
I read this book as part of an voluntary arc but I have also purchased the book as I absolutely love reading Eddie’s books and want to support him. All of that said this book is brilliant and was very hard to put down. I love how this book slightly overlaps with the first with time line and we get to see more of Luke and Karen from book one , right along Byron and Myra here. We met them in book one, and we got glimpses of the extreme suffering and anxiety Myra deals with, but we get the full story with From the Ashes. I can’t wait for more from this series
Another fantastic book from Eddie!
I loved it! From the Ashes is an amazing story filled with drama, heartache, humor, hope, love and plenty of hot chemistry! Bryon and Myra are perfect for each other! There are obstacles to overcome, but together they can work through anything! I absolutely loved this book! I can’t wait for the next book in the Forged by Fire series!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Eddie Cleveland did it again in this series. It can be read as a standalone. I loved this story of Bryon and Myra. I am sooo happy to see Byron finally getting what he wanted. Myra needed a strong caring man who understands her issues.
This book had it all! It was romantic, sweet, and emotional! Myra is a character that will connect with so many people! She is strong and a fighter dealing with emotional issues. Bryon is the perfect compliment to her in his beautiful soul! This story touched my heart in so many ways that I just can even describe! It was so beautiful all the way around!
I voluntarily reviewed the advanced reader copy of this book. The author has done it again, a fantastic story, with interesting characters, I couldn’t put it down, this was a non-stop cover to cover read for me.
Amazing! One of the main characters has anxiety real bad and through out the story starts managing it to where she can actually live. The two together work through it beautifully. I think this is a very well written story. With wonderful characters.
I absolutely loved this book it was so good from start to finish i loved how it blended with the last book. I absolutely loved how Byron helped Myra throughout this book process everything she needed to and be there to make her see she was worthy of love again you won’t regret reading this book it will make you laugh and it’s erotic and romantic
Quite simply, I thought that this was a beautiful romance. It is the second book in the Forged by Fire series but it is a standalone read. I will say that characters are introduced and reoccur through the series and some previous events are referenced in this book. So, keep that in mind. It’s not necessary but book one is a very good read and I suggest you read it. This book’s compelling story was realistic and relatable. It is a powerful and poignant tale of loss, heartbreak, anxiety and love. There is some drama in the book but honestly, in my opinion this book pretty much runs on pure emotion. Byron and Myra completely melted my heart. Byron is a big bear of a man with the heart of a teddy bear. He is a totally swoon worthy hero that is strong and brave enough to fight fires but is gentle and sweet enough to woo the wounded heroine. Myra’s history will make your heart ache and the life she lives now will be an eye-opener for some. I loved the emotional journey these two went on and I am just so happy that I got to witness it. As someone that lives with anxiety, I have to say that I felt the author did a excellent job not only portraying this issue but resisted the all to often followed impulse to have the “love cures all” ending. While love is what we all yearn for it does not solve everything (even though we wish it could). When writing about mental illness this is crucial point that I feel has to be made even though it doesn’t fuel the fantasy that most of us read for. The author succeeded in doing this while creating a romance that will touch your heart and steam up your kindle.
Another easy book to read from this author. A township with a tight community and some awesome characters. An enjoyable storyline, which includes some laughter and cross your fingers and hope for the best moments.
Myra is an artist, who lives behind a brick wall. She lived through her worst nightmare ten years ago and has been in hiding ever since. Her whole life was torn from her in one moment, she feels guilty and is stuck in the terror. The town talk about the crazy lady who lives there, she knows what they say and it hurts. Byron was best friends with her deceased husband Ian, she pushed him away when Ian died.
Byron is a single father to an adult daughter. He has struggled since she’s moved out and doesn’t rely or need him as much. When he gets called to Myra’s address for an emergency he panics and makes the decision to rectify their broken friendship. When Myra pushed him away he let her, in fact he took the opportunity to run from his feelings. It’s time for full disclosure about her effect on him.
I love this book. Myra has been living behind a wall since she lost her husband Ian. She stays out of the public because she has panic attacks. She uses her depression to paint how she is feeling. She had chest pains and dialed 911. Byron, being a fireman, went to the call. He has had feelings for Myra for a while but he couldn’t bear to see her since his best friend, Ian, died. It has been 10 years. Can Byron help Myra and himself heal? Grab this book to find out. I highly recommend it. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
WOW!!! Another great job by Eddie on this book. I couldn’t put it down. Myra & Byron lost to each other for 10 years. Myra so damaged she cannot leave her house for months at a time. The connection after 10 years that these two still have for each other is so strong for both of them. There are some tears in this book as you can feel their pain & suffering yet until you experience it yourself, you can never know what they actually have gone thru. There is some laughter in here also as Byron’s daughter tells him like it is. After all, she is an adult now. LOVE April Fools Day!!
Eddie Cleveland has the ability to let his readers experience the journey of his characters right along with them. In From the Ashes, you get heartache, drams, humor, fate, hope, love, plenty of steam, and then it all wraps up with a great HEA.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
This is such a great book Myra has been a prisoner in her own house since the death of her husband she blames herself and she lost their baby in the car accident …. Byron is a single father who devoted himself to raising his daughter who now is 22 yrs old ….. Byron and Myra have a lot of chemistry together and Byron helps her get rid of her anxiety they go through a lot but in the end get their hea….. I voluntarily read an arc
Myra was in an accident that killed her husband. Ten years later, she still has not recovered and is a reclusive artist. Byron was her husband’s best friend and is a firefighter and works construction. He has a 22 year old daughter that he raised by himself. One day a rescue call comes in and Byron realizes it is the address of Myra. After they tend to her, Byron tries to start a relationship with her, as he has had a long standing crush on her. They have a lots of ups and downs. Can she get over her panic attacks? Does Byron manage to hang in there and make things work? I received an ARC of this book and I am giving an honest review.
Another scorching hot from Eddie Cleveland!
I loved how real this story felt. How Myra completely withdrew from life after such a tragedy and how she pushed everyone away. That Byron let himself be pushed away because of his feelings for Myra feeling like it was a betrayal. I appreciate the highlight on anxiety and panic attacks as they are more common now than ever in society. And absolutely adored them coming together and fighting for their love.
This was a perfect follow up to the series. Both the characters had pain and heartbreak and longing. Together they help each other heal and start to live and believe.
