New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan continues her sexy new contemporary stand-alone series with an enemies-to-lovers office romance.Paris Trissel is in a dating rut. Despite the pact she made with her friends to find someone to share her life with, she’s throwing in the towel after only a few blind dates. Add in the fact that the new hire at the job she used to love … to love happens to be the Brady brother she can’t stand, and Paris is having a terrible year.
Prior Brady’s life seems pretty perfect from the outside. He has a wonderful, caring girlfriend, a family he’s never been closer to, and a new job he can’t wait to sink his teeth and talents into. Too bad the woman he has to work with for hours a day hates him on sight.
Once the two are forced to find the balance between chemistry and temptation, however, they’ll realize they’re stronger together than apart. Except when Paris’s past comes back with a vengeance, bringing terror, pain, and horror with it, both she and Prior will have to lean on each other.
In more ways than one.

This was a great story. Paris is up next on the pack to go out on blind dates set up by her friends. Unfortunately they all seem to go very badly. At her 5th one that blows up, Prior is their and the two end up having a drink while he is waiting for his girlfriend. Prior is also their to witness her at the failed 6th date and at this time she decides she is done with dating. Prior has taken a temporary assignment at Paris’ place of work and she will be working directly with him. He noticed that the others there don’t seem to treat her with the respect she deserves because she is a woman and he isn’t ok with that. The two become better friends during this time. When things end with Prior’s girlfriend, there seems to be the start of something with him and Paris. Unfortunately someone seems to be after her and it is going to be a little hard work for that happy ever after. Really enjoyed the story and am afraid I will give too much away if I say more.
Two people connected through family creating a group that met regularly and was quickly becoming family. Now this did not really make them friends per say, because Paris did not like Prior. Now Prior didn’t know why but he was going to find out.
Paris, sees herself working with a man she can’t stand, a man she says is part of the boys club. Problem, he is the brother of her best friends boyfriend. Yeah she has to be somewhat nice to him, but not really.
Okay, I know this sounds like and enemies to lovers simple romance, but this is Carrie Ann Ryan’s book, which makes it so much more. More passionate, more suspense, and more intrigue. This books is as exciting as it is dangerous. Prior and Paris are witty, their banter is relatable and their romance inspiring. A romance that will suck you into their world and hold you captive for the rest of the series… My kind of book!
No matter how close a family is, whether by blood or chosen, there are parts of yourself that aren’t shared or out there for everyone to see and know. Paris has a past she doesn’t speak of but it’s coming at her at full speed. Prior has the perfect family and life from the outside looking in but looks can be deceiving. They will need to hold on to each other to make it through.
I love al of the Montgomery books and their spin offs. I feel so entrenched in each of the families and towns.
This was a cute (semi) enemies turned lovers (if you can call it that since it only lasted 2-3 chapters max) office romance.
Despite the instant love feels I got from this read, Prior and Paris were smoking hot together. I think they were able to even each other out and I enjoyed that they were straight forward with their relationship. It felt mature as in no petty ass drama that typically happens in romance drama (cliche misunderstandings, fights and all that jazz). Besides a crazed ex and the typical family drama, it was smooth sailing. I do want to point out that this did have an overly predictable storyline. It didn’t seem like a whole lot was happening at some points of the story beside the last two chapters when the main characters are assaulted.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t terrible so I’ll give this author another go.
Wow Prior and Paris. She has a secret about her childhood, his still feeling guilty over his brothers near deaths. When pitted to work together for 6 months, little did they know that they would start to have feelings. So done is after Paris but has no clue who it is. I loved how protective Prior was even though he was going out with someone else. I definitely can’t wait for the next book.
Paris Trissel made a pact with her best friends to be set up on blind dates in search of finding someone to spend her life with, but after a few bad blind dates, Paris is calling it quits. Adding to that, Prior Brady is the new hire at a job she used to love. Prior Brady has a great life: great family, a girlfriend, and a new job he is excited to start. Prior and Paris butt heads, but the chemistry between them is undeniably hot. As Paris and Prior work together, they turn from enemies to friends. Prior and Paris try to fight their attraction to each other, but when Paris is attacked, Prior realizes he wants to be more than friends with Paris. Can Prior and Paris figure out who attacked her? How will Paris react when a ghost from her past appears on her doorstep? Will Paris find the courage and strength to face her past? Will Prior make the ultimate sacrifice to protect Paris? Will Paris and Prior find their happily ever after? From That Moment is another amazing book by Carrie Ann Ryan. From That Moment has intrigue, chemistry, family, and friends. Carrie Ann Ryan is a must read author for this reader. I would highly recommend getting From That Moment by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
On paper, I wouldn’t know if this book would be my jam – Paris has a chip on her shoulder that made her not my fave FMC at first, Prior is dating someone else, and the work environment is toxic. But as always, Carrie Ann Ryan can take real, flawed characters and true situations that sharply hit home, and turn them into HEAs that are lovely, realistic, and beautiful. By midway through, I was already cheering Paris and Prior on, ready for them to see the love right in front of them! The extra drama is a great twist of the plot that added excitement and action (cherry on the sundae), but I was plenty happy with Paris & Prior’s rship (the yummy ice cream).
Paris came from a broken home and has done everything she could to leave her past behind her. Despite making a pact with her best friends to find someone to share her life with, she was ready to just be happy with the life she has. Prior seemed to have the perfect life on the outside but looks can be deceiving. When they are thrown together, there is instant attraction but both were trying to fight it. Fate always has other plans! This was a beautiful story you won’t want to miss!
I really loved this story. Prior and Paris are great together, I enjoyed watching them work through the bumps in their relationship. They have great chemistry together and the story line was awesome.
Received an advance copy from the author.
4.5***** stars. It is so true how your past can influence today and the future. Paris has had a nightmare childhood and feels she needs to fight to get anywhere in the “man’s world”. I actually believe that because I’ve seen it happen. Many men still have a caveman mentality and are unaccepting of a woman’s success. Generally, I did not like working for women for this very reason. Now Prior is a different animal… he has a gentle soul and admires men and women for their achievements, not their gender. This is another very well written book by Carrie. I like the way she exposes the reasons beneath the bitterness, not that it’s an excuse for bad behavior. Sometimes it only takes someone with a big heart to turn your life around. As always, a most enjoyable book!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
3.5 Stars
I’m not sure how to write this review simply because I struggled with getting into this book. I found it difficult to stay focused (I’m not blaming the book but perhaps life has just been a little too crazy lately, I’m not sure).
I found I didn’t connect much with the characters and at times they really frustrated me. They were enemies (if you can call it that) then friends (kind of) then lovers.
Overall there were parts of this book that I did enjoy and will definitely check out more from Carrie Ann Ryan but this one fell a little flat for me.
My favourite from this family so far. Read it all in one sitting and i already can’t wait for the next one
Paris and Prior work together as a team. They are really hot together. The relationship they have is awesome.
Paris is trying out the blind dating scene. It’s not going very well. When the new hire at her job is Prior, who she can’t stand, her feelings start to change. There is something going on that Paris won’t talk about. Will she tell Prior what’s going on? Will Paris and Prior go from friends to lovers?
Carrie Ann Ryan writes with such strong emotions, it jumps off every page. This was a page turner that I couldn’t put down. I loved this book and I highly recommend this book.
Once again Carrie Ann Ryan wrote a wonderful book. The writing is wonderful. Paris and Prior were combustible together. There’s mystery, angst and suspense along with the romance in this book. I look forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a good addition to this series with this heart breaking, emotional story. Prior and Paris start out as foes that over time grow into a romantic relationship despite being coworkers and within a circle of friends as well as family acquaintances. Paris comes off as a hard woman to people who do not know her but underneath her exterior is a caring, damaged person. Her past is heart breaking filled with abuse and devastation that she rose from. Prior at first does not understand Paris’s prickly personality but then discovers that it is a protection for herself. The pair through working together grow closer and despite their fears from past relationships as well as emotional hurts from the past find love. This emotional read felt as if it flew past me and I enjoyed this book from start to finish. The characters were well written and relatable. I also enjoyed the return of the characters from the first book of this series as well. I would recommend this book to others.
From That Moment is the second book in the Promise Me series by Carrie Ann, I enjoyed reading it but if your looking for a light read this is not it. It does have some humorous moments but for the most part the content deals with some serious real life issues. While I applaud Carrie for bringing attention and life to real life problems it might be a trigger for some.
This series centers around best friends that make a pact to help each other find love. Its Paris’s turn to be set up on blind dates, men her friends think would be compatible with. Paris is a very task oriented person, she is very forward and doesn’t back down from confrontation. The comedy in this book comes from these dates and poor Paris has the worst luck!
Prior Brady is a software engineer who has been sent to a different branch to work on an important project. Upon arriving however he quickly discovers tension in the office, not only that he is surprised to find out Paris works there and she isn’t well liked. It is Paris’s job to find problems in the code they are writing which apparently some people have issues with.
The evolution of Prior and Paris’s relationship is slow going, what starts as a tentative friendship evolves to a lot more as these two get to know each other.
She’s his Paris
From that moment is the second book in the promise me series and is absolutely amazing that I did not want to put this book down
Paris and her other girlfriends make a pact to find happiness by way of blind dates as opposed to using dating appsBut every blind date that she goes on is more scandalous than the last, until she finally decides no moreOne theme that’s common on these dates is the appearance of Prior each timeIt eventually becomes clear that they are attracted to each other and their world as they know it is about to change as the past collides with their present
An ‘unputdownable’ story and I can’t wait to read the next two stories
Carrie Ann Ryan is amazing with her new Promise Me series. Paris and Prior are just what we needed. A bit salty but extremely lovable on both sides. I felt for Paris and wished I could wrap my arms around her. I was a puddle of goo with Prior and knew he was IT for Paris.
From That Moment has a good mix of push and pull, some angst, and a lot of chemistry. The woman in this series are my new book sisters! I cannot get enough. This is a series you must read!
This is book 2 in the Promise Me series and while it can absolutely be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the first book before this one as certain events are talked about in this book and it also introduces the relationship between these characters. In this one we get Prior and Paris’s story. Paris is next up in the pact made with her friends. She has gone on a few blind dates but is ready to give up after how bad they all seem to go. And now add in the fact that the Brady brother who annoys her the most is the new hire at her work? Things can’t get much worse. Paris feels like his life is going the way he wanted it to. He has a great girlfriend, his family that he loves, and the job of his dreams. Now he just has to deal with the woman who seems to hate his guts without reason. But being forced to work together also forces them to actually get to know each other. And realize that the things that they might be missing in their lives can be found in each other.
I really liked this one. Paris went through something that most people don’t make it through and still be emotionally there. She is such a strong and beautiful soul with that sass element that I absolutely loved! The fact that even with the things in her past, she is still willing to try to have a family and a future is more than most people actually do. Prior comes across kinda dorky to me, but I actually loved that about him. He is sweet, kind, and just generally a good guy. I was a little surprised by how much I actually liked him. The fact that they start out as friends and actually get to know each other made this book even better for me. Now I can’t wait to read the next book! I need to know all of their stories!!
Paris and Prior are not your typical romance couple!!! Paris is a strong female with a troubled past and Prior is a stand up guy!!!They have a rocky start to a friendship that becomes more. I love getting to know each girl in this series can’t wait for more!!!!
