I already loved this series and it just keeps getting better. There is so much happening and it feels as though as a reader you grow with the characters and Lyric especially. I started reading yesterday and I only stopped shortly to sleep but I just had to keep reading so I finished it within 24 hours.
From Flame and Ash ended with a major cliff-hanger and From Spirit and Binding started where From Flame and Ash stopped. There is a new player in the field that, from the start, you just know will be important even though there is barely any information about them. We also see some characters come back, that were present once but then disappeared. Something else that is new is that in From Spirit and Binding there are also parts from Easton’s perspective in addition to Lyric’s. This gives some amazing new insights. It also gives the reader a little more knowledge than either Lyric and Easton at times which is very effective in engaging the reader. There is so much happening in this story that I just cannot focus on one thing but the story is moving and constantly evolving and building and yet, this is not the end yet. A small warning, it ends on a huge cliff-hanger again…
Even though the story seems filled with action, one of the strengths is that it is not all victory and happy and good ‘endings’. There is a lot of loss and pain in the story, mixed with helplessness and, sometimes, feelings of despair. I don’t want to sound cold but, for me at least, this makes the story so much better. Because as a reader, the happy ending where everything ends up just fine is not guaranteed which raises the stakes but also makes happy moments so much more precious. And it leaves you with more uncertainty which, in my case, makes me want to finish as soon as possible because I need to know what will happen.
I had the pleasure to read From Spirit and Binding as an ARC, and now that I’m finished I hate that a little bit too because it means I have to wait even longer before the next part, From Shadow and Silence, is released. But I hope we won’t have to wait too long.
All in all, I would recommend everyone that does not hate fiction to read the Elements of Five series! It does not disappoint. It reminds me a little of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series from Sarah J. Maas, so if you enjoyed reading that series then this series is for you!
I absolutely love book three in the Lyric story. The plot and story kept me on the edge of my seat. I love this series. Carrie Ann knows how to write a story no matter the genre and just sucks you in.
Love this series
Easton and Lyric grabbed my heart
Intense emotional broken heart stopping love story
Ready for more
The world that Carrie Ann has created with the Maison Realm is so captivating!!! I am dying to read the next book as soon as I’m finished with these. They leave you in quite the funk knowing there is no more to be read LOL.
We’ve watched Lyric grow so much in the last book and we got to watch the depth of her relationship with the others grow. The blurb doesn’t give a whole lot away, so I don’t feel like I can talk about too many things. But, the thing that was most important was the amount of growth we saw in this book. Between Lyric and her friends, her new family and the people of the Maison realm, there was so much growth! We really got to see people come together in the most amazing ways. And seeing Lyric take on so much and really learn how to be the Spirit Princess was breathtaking! I absolutely love seeing such a fierce female lead. Lyric didn’t even grow up in this realm, yet she knows what her destiny is. She took that destiny and said lets kick some butt!
Carrie Ann’s writing with this series is so amazing! We are given the best roller coaster ride, with the most magnificent loops and turns. There was emotion, there was fighting, there was death, there was hope, there was EVERY. LITTLE. THING! This is, BY FAR, my favorite yet!!
A truly captivating story. Spirit and Binding is a book the whole world needs. So much emotion and heart is felt when reading. I recommend this book for anyone who reads.
I love this book! This is the third book in the series and they just keep getting better. I can’t wait for the final book. Definitely recommend reading any of Carrie Ann Ryan’s books.
The suspense and mystery here will keep you riveted. There are new characters and just wondering about them kept me reading without putting it down. I am loving Lyric and her determination and strength.
This book is a really good continuation of the story and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
This book was….just wow. There is no other way of putting it! This is definitely one of those series that have to be read in order, because each book builds on the last, the characters continuing to grow and find out more about themselves, and the world they have sworn to protect. It’s a fantasy series that is so well written, I can see myself there, I can feel what they are feeling. It’s really kind of amazing!
This book picks up where Flame and Ash left off, and boy, the beginning left me reeling! It starts out explosively and just keeps going from there! Lyric is left in a state of shock, reeling from the events that just occurred, not sure where to go from there. But those around her rally together, and they keep moving, keep pushing forward, knowing that they have no choice but to succeed. There very world depends on it.
This book was absolutely amazing. The story was full of twists and turns, surprising events kept me guessing, right from the beginning! This story was gut wrenching, full of action, and I just could not have asked for more! This series is building to something big, something I can’t even begin to guess what it is, and I can’t wait for it, but I’m definitely enjoying the journey along the way!
If you been on this journey from the start, you don’t want to miss this newest addition. This fantasy will captivate you as the journey continues with more emotions, action and suspense as Lyric is trust into more than she expects. I enjoyed the twist and surprise that you did not see coming that will have you at the edge of your seat. Can’t wait for the next book in series that doesn’t disappoint.
So much action and emotion. So many losses and surprises. Lyric has endured so much yet she still feels like she is failing. They continue to fight for the realm yet they continue to fight the unknown. Easton and Lyric are so meant to be however they have so many obstacles. I have loved watching Braelynn evolve and look forward to seeing where she ends up. With so many losses and so much unknown, I can’t wait to read the next book.
Oh loved the growth with Lyric. The way that she doesnt realise how strong she is but her friends know, her friends have faith and her friends are there to help her when she needs their help.
Was there losses? Of course there was but this quest is too important to stop, this quest needs to run its course and for Lyric to become her destiny that has been prophesied.
Loved the way that the two Kingdoms worked well together. Loved the way the journey meandered while still keeping true to the quest, and the way that Lyric grew by leaps and bounds. Shes now come into her own, in her power and her personality.
I cannot wait for the final book. But I will wait with anticipation and excitement to find out how this ends. I’m so invested in this series its unreal….I’m taking every setback and loss personally now. I’m in this til the end
Wow! Things are seriously getting intense. We pick up where we left off in From Flame and Ash, and this mega journey to save the realm continues. More is revealed, more is lost, and more is gained. Lyric and her faithful group are put through the wringer many times, yet they keep on jumping in and fighting on. There is so much learned in this book, and yet I can’t tell you anything so as not to spoil it! I will say the war is not over, the fight needs to continue, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
5+ Stars
This is the third book in the Element of Five Series and it begins right where book two left off dropping the reader off back into battle. The pace of the story is perfect. Nothing is rushed, no stones were randomly tossed to the side to make room for quick endings in this series. This book was exactly what I was hoping for and so much more.
Heartbreak, confusion, curses, secrets, traitors, and love bleed across the pages in a brilliant smoothly written story, which left me on edge and desperate for more. My eyes absorbed the words as quickly as my fingers could flip the pages, and yet, it still wasn’t fast enough.
But what about Lyric? What about Easton? What about the prophecy? I have so many things I want to say. Oh, how the plot has thickened. Shadows lurk at every turn seeping their evil across the realms destroying kingdoms leaving them to ruins. Lyric is coming into her own despite wielding so much power in such little time. Easton has his own demons to fight, but I already knew a bit of it. What I didn’t know was—sorry, that’s a spoiler and I refuse to ruin this for other readers.
Trust me when I say you need this book, in fact, you need this series. It’s so good. By far the best YA Fantasy Book I’ve read this year. In my opinion, 5 ++++ stars should totally be an option. I’m so happy there will be a fourth book for them to continue their journey in.
This is the third book in the series and it was full of adventure. There was war, death, and more. Her loved ones died, some came back to life and some were grieved over. Lyric develops more powers and struggles to contain them. Her friends help her but really, she has to do the work. There were quite a few surprises – especially at the end. It really was an OMG moment. Kudos to Carrie Ann Ryan for another wonderful addition to the series. Can’t wait til the next book. I got this book from the author for an honest review
Loved this all enveloping world…
Lyric and her supporters continue to trek through the Maison realm looking for a way to save the realm and to help Lyric become the Spirit Priestess. We get more of the Prophecy and the mysterious twelve spirit wielders, but they are so vague. Action abounds as our intrepid group face baddies and power mongers. It always seems they take one step forward and get two back. Some things do click into place leaving us hotly anticipating the last of this epic story.
From Spirit and Binding continues Lyric’s journey through the prophecy. Even though she loses more she gains so much more. I can’t wait for book 4.
I love this series so much! Just when Lyric and her friends think everything is lost her soul mate and her friend are returned to them. She is on the cusp of releasing her last element but the prophecy seems like too much to bear. The drama and intrigue continue as alliances and friendships are tested. I can’t wait for the last book!!
From Spirit and Binding takes up where From Flame and Ash left off. This book is filled with growing pains love and loss. Questions are answered and new ones arise. This book will leave you exhausted and wanting the next installment asap. I was beginning to despair that Lyric would ever get it together but the fates have a way to force her to pick up the mantle of destiny whether she wants it or not. This is epic YA fantasy at its best.
This is the third part of this enjoyable and compelling series. The story is gripping and is filled with drama, intensity and emotion. Add in action, adventure, danger and intensity and you have yourself a addictive series that quickly captures you in its web and always has you more than happy to return to it for the next piece. This is my frank, freely posted review.
