New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan concludes her steamy contemporary stand-alone series with a secret that no one saw coming.Nate Brady and Myra West have been keeping a secret, though not just from their group—also from each other. Getting married when they were barely adults wasn’t in the cards when they made their plans for their future. Divorcing one another … another amidst pain and heartbreak wasn’t either.
Years have passed, wounds have scabbed over and scarred, but their anger remains.
If the two can open themselves to the impossible, they might be able to take that second chance. Only they’ll also have to fight their fears, the lies between them, and the desire they thought long gone.
Except they aren’t alone in their secrets, and if they aren’t careful, they may just be taking them to their graves.

From Our First is the fourth and final book in the Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan. Like the rest of the series this book was awesome. This is a Nate and Myra’s story and it is a second chance book. Nate and Myra have been through heartbreak but will they let the pain from the past stand in the way of their future. This was the perfect ending of the series!
3.5 Stars
As the fourth and final book in the Promise Me series, Carrie gave us what we come to love in this series, love with a side of suspense and great supporting characters. Nate and Myra are not strangers to each other. When they initially met they fell in love fast and hard but it ended and left a lot unresolved. There was a lot of distrust as well as hurt to resolve. To make matters in this situation bad is their friends and family does not know about their past. I found that the storyline flowed well, information was where it needed to be. I enjoyed watching them navigate through their past feelings and finding their way back to each other. The ending offered enough action but I wanted a little more from the epilogue. Overall good story that will have you continuously turning the pages. If you are looking for a second chance romance, with an added bonus of group of close knit friends this is your book.
This is the fourth and last book in the amazing Promise Me Series. I love this Series! This Series is part of the Montgomery World. You can read this story as a standalone, but I recommend you to read this Series in order. Myra and Nate’s second chance to love is emotional, fun, sexy, filled with twists and turns, and a little suspense. I loved to follow them in the journey to love. The supporting characters are great, and they have an important part in this story. I love these Series with intertwined characters. The family bonds and the friendship are fantastic in this Series. I enjoyed it. Looking forward for more stories from this author.
Nathan and Myra
This book has twists and turns you don’t see coming. Nate and Myra married in college and because of some lies told by her family. She comes from a rich controlling family.
Myra has a group of friends connected to Nate’s family. No one knew Myra and Nathan were married so it comes as a complete surprise to everyone.
Very good shortish book. Loved this couple.
From Our First is the last in a 4 part series by Carrie Ann Ryan. It was a wonderful way to close out the series. We get Nate & Myra’s story. I found myself devouring their story in just a few hours. I enjoyed finding out what happened to them and loved watching them find their way back to each other with their not date dates and the support and encouragement of his family and their friends.
Nate Brady is the last Brady kid, and this is his story. He was married to Myra when they were in college together. Her parents found out and in order to bring her back home, the faked photos to show Nate she was cheating. He believed the photos, wouldn’t let Myra explain and left her. Her family came back to tell her that her Grandma Sharon died, and they were there in Boulder for the reading of the will. Nate shows up when her parents are at her house, and they both realize that her parents broke them up. Myra tells the girls, and Nate tells his brothers. His twin Arden already knew.
The spend time together, she deals with family issues from her Grandma’s will. She and Nate fight, they both get hurt, but they talk through things at the hospital. Both are ok.
Epilogue is a party.
Bonus epilogue link at the end of the book.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
After the ending of the last book, Nate and Myra’s story was so worth the wait! After a shocking past relationship, they find themselves confronted with a history that they aren’t sharing to their family and friends. But when the past comes charging them, they have no choice but to be friends. Destiny has another plan for them and their journey was filled with drama, suspense, a touch of danger and a whole lot of heat level. I loved how their story developed and ended, now the gang is complete.
Last one of the series… Normally I really hate endings but in this case I think the series is ready. All the characters are coupled off and ready for their happily ever after. So, somehow, I’m okay with this ending. It gave me closure.
But what’s more important is what did I think about this story in particular. And I liked it but I’m not crazy about it. Sorry for the fans (and Carrie Ann Ryan, I still love you!!!) but that’s my honest opinion. I loved what was happening and really enjoyed the story because I love the Brady’s and the pact sisters, and I like Nate and Myra… But that is what made this story good to me, and not any particulars in the story line or writing itself…
The shocking turn of events for this story actually already happens at the end of Far From Destined, and it did make me curious about what happened. But this is told really early in this story and after that it becomes quite predictable. A thing that annoys me is that there are no new characters (except for Myra’s family) introduced in this story. It’s just the Bradys and the pact sisters. I think there is one other character introduced by name, an old colleague of Nate and he is only there for one chapter. I know people can have small circles but this was annoying to me as a reader.
This is not to say that I hated the story, I didn’t! It was fun and I finished it really quick. But it felt more like a comfortable story that you slip back into, one that you’ve read before and is just nice. That’s what this story felt like to me. It’s not necessarily bad, but it’s something you need to be prepared for. So here it is, now you know my opinion and you are prepared 😉 Maybe you disagree and you’ll love it, but you’ll only find out if you try. And I would say read it, see for yourself (especially for those who’ve read more of this series, finish it! This story will bring you the closure you need at the end of a series)
I have loved this series and I am happy with how it ended with Nate and Myra’s story. There is so much history with these two that was revealed during this story. It goes to show how far family will go to do what they think they know to be best, and how far love will go to conquer challenges that have been put in the way of two people who deserve to be happy.
Ahhh, we finally find out about Nate & Myra & what’s brewing under their animosity…
And ooooh what a history it is! Loved seeing Nate & Myra “not dating”…Great to see Brady Brothers and the pact sisters now complete.
Just like other Promise Me books there’s a hospital visit but HEA happens so it’s all good!
Great Series!
This book was the perfect second chance romance. The main characters were secretly married years before and had a terrible split only to be thrust together by their family and friends finding love in each other. They spend the first part of the series hating each other and this book gets into why and how they can move forward. Especially since they still have feelings for each other. I liked the pace of this book and the different feelings it invoked. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking for an interesting fast-paced read.
*I received an ARC for an honest review*
Finally, we get Nate and Myra’s story. There was always something going on between these two in the background of the other books. It turns out that they we were once married for a short period. After falling in love when they were in college, they were ripped apart and have been extremely angry with each other. Now with their friends and family coupling off together, they know that there is no way to avoid seeing and being at the same places so they come to an agreement to behave normally around the others. When Myra suffers a shocking loss, Nate rushes to her side only to be confronted with the very thing that tore them apart. While spending more time together they realize that they have never stopped loving each other. This was a really great story to end this series about these amazing siblings and their happily ever after’s.
Omg this story of Myra and Nate had me gut wrenched with feelings. I didnt want to keep putting book down. I wanted to just lock the door and not be disturbed. This book is so amazing. I love the whole story and the way it unfolded. Carrie Ann knows how to get a reader and keep them engaged in her characters and storyline. Amazing read.
Loved so much. Very well written. Love how the other characters from the other 3 books come into play. Can Nate the last single Brady and Myra the last of the pack sisters find love even know they were married when they were in college. A must read to finish the series.
The Promise Me Series follows the Brady brothers whom we met in Wrapped In Ink (Arden Brady and Liam Montgomery’s story) In From Our First (Book 4) we meet Nate Brady who was set up on a blind date with his ex-wife. Myra West is the last one in their group to be set up with blind dates in the hopes of finding her HEA. Unbenounced to her she is set up on her first date and yup, it’s her ex-husband.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Myra’s parents and cousin show up at Mayra’s door. When Nate unexpectedly shows up during their visit, the tragedy behind their divorce is revealed. Both Nate and Myra discover that their feelings for each other are still there even though they were outwardly sniping at each other. I loved their story, I laughed, cried and cheered for them.
Sparks fly in this enemies-to-lovers romance! I enjoyed getting to know Myra and Nate better after seeing them pop in and out of the previous books in this series. There’s a lot of deep emotion between Myra and Nate from the very first. Their history caught me completely off-guard. Throughout the other books, their enmity had already struck me as being deeper than the usual “rubbing each other the wrong way” that you often get in an enemies-to-lovers story, so it was great to finally find out more about the why of it. What I appreciate about Nate is the way he deals with the consequences of his accident, like the resulting migraines. It impacts his life, and he confronts that head-on, no ridiculous macho posturing. He isn’t too proud to admit he needs help sometimes. Love that. He’s definitely made some mistakes when it comes to Myra, understandable ones but mistakes nonetheless, and he takes responsibility for that and tries to do better, and all while being absolutely respectful of her wishes. Myra is a strong character, with the kind of strength that comes from heartbreak and overcoming obstacles. I really liked the way she was written. She isn’t perfect, but easy to relate to and sympathize with as she struggles to figure out how to deal with all that life throws at her. And boy, that’s a lot. I like the blend of romance and danger in this series, but for this final story, I’d have liked a bit more suspense or unease earlier on to lend more gravitas to the threat that comes their way so unexpectedly. I’d have liked the evil character to have been more fleshed out.
The last of the ladies in the dating pact is getting her turn! Nate and Myra was such a fantastic story! We all know that secrets can’t be hidden forever and this book shows that in their story! Their story leaves them both with regrets and had pretty much turned them into enemies. Watching their story unfold is so amazing! I don’t want to give anything away with spoilers so I’ll just say READ IT! You won’t be disappointed!
I must say that I have absolutely loved the women of the Promise Me series. They have been through so much and yet they are strong and determined. In the last book of the series, which can technically be read as interconnected standalones, BUT are so good and should just be read in order, we finally find out what is going on with Nate and Myra. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. From our First by Carrie Ann Ryan is a second chance romance that was emotional and angst-filled. What secret have Nate and Myra been keeping and will they survive the aftermath?
Enemies because of the secrets, anger and hurt they hid from each other and others, can they find a way past that to see what they truly have before it’s too late? Their journey truly broke my heart. People they should have trusted let them down and now the people that matter the most to both of them have found their happily ever after. Can they learn to forgive and move forward? Both are stubborn and determined, but there is so much there if they just let themselves see it. A great ending to an amazing series. I just loved this book and series so much.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading.
First, only, forever.
Wow!
Ms. Ryan really saved the best for last in this series with Nate & Myra. The history, secrets, betrayals and truths that we discover are amazing.
Outstanding story of renewed love. The family you choose are the ones that will be there and love you through everything. You only need to be open to the possibilities.
