New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan concludes her steamy contemporary stand-alone series with a secret that no one saw coming.Nate Brady and Myra West have been keeping a secret, though not just from their group—also from each other. Getting married when they were barely adults wasn’t in the cards when they made their plans for their future. Divorcing one another … another amidst pain and heartbreak wasn’t either.
Years have passed, wounds have scabbed over and scarred, but their anger remains.
If the two can open themselves to the impossible, they might be able to take that second chance. Only they’ll also have to fight their fears, the lies between them, and the desire they thought long gone.
Except they aren’t alone in their secrets, and if they aren’t careful, they may just be taking them to their graves.

Book 4 in Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan
Myra is last in her friends to follow through with the dating pact.
The women pair her with Nate Brady not knowing that they have a very dark complicated past.
When there around each other you can feel the tension and you can tell they hate each other.
But when some some awful memories come up and lies are uncovered can they make it work.
I live this book and devoured it in 2 days especially with it been audible with the amazing Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder.
Carrie Ann Ryan knows how to write the best anguish sexual tension story ever. Absolutely love the Brady’s just as much as the Montgomery’s.
Carrie Ann Ryan does it again!
In my opinion this is the best Brady book and she saved him for last.
I couldn’t put it down.
Read the first three then read this one. What are you waiting for? You’ll be addicted.
Ahhhh! It’s Promise Me book four, and I am still semi freaking out about this. In book four we are getting Nate, and Myra’s story. These two are keeping a bit of a secret from their close knit group of friends. One thing we learn about these secrets is they are never secrets for very long. This story had all the feels, and seriously left me with a book hangover. I love to hate these damn book hangovers, but seriously only the best books will give you one. This entire series starting from the beginning is an absolute must read. So be sure to add it to your TBR GoodReads Lists.
‘From Our First’ is book four and last in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Promise Me series. Each book in the series are stand-alones with HEA for the character. But it’s recommended that all the books are read in order as the main storyline continues throughout the books. The whole series follows a group of close knit group of friends each determine to help each other find love. ‘From Our First’ follows Nate Brady and Myra West, a second chance story.
When Nate and Myra were younger they were a serious item but split up quite agonisingly. Myra was the last of her “sister” to go on her blind date and she was determined not to be set up with the last Brady brother just because all her other friends had ended up with them. Just because there was history doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a future.
I was waiting for Nate and Myra as you could see that there was a secret between them and I was not disappointed with their story. My heart broke for Nate and Myra and I needed them to find a way to get past their pain and mistrust. You could see their connection was strong and still there, they just needed a very strong push.
Once again Carrie Ann Ryan’s writing gives us all the feels, joy, anticipation, anger, sorrow. Each and every book are pages turners, with the right mix of angst, passion, and suspense. I have loved reading this series and I am sad that it has now come to an end. Even though it was a wonderful journey, one I will look forward to going on again in the future.
Well done Ms Ryan!!!
From Our First is the 4th book in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Promise me series. This book is so much more than a second chance romance. I enjoyed every minute of reading this. Nate and Myra’s story was one to remember. This book will be going in the re-read pile of books! I received this book in exchange for an honest review
This just about broke me, and although i loved them both there were times i just wanted to hit Myra for pushing Nate away. Loved seeing them find each other again
Nate and Myra have been keeping a secret from the friends and family, they married and divorced while in college. Nate and Myra fell hard and fast for each other but couldn’t keep it from falling all apart. Years later, they are still dealing with the aftermath of their actions. Myra and Nate want what the other couples in their lives have but feel they lost their chance all those years ago. Myra and Nate call a truce to their bickering and sniping at each other. What happens when Myra and Nate learn about her parent’s deception? Can Myra and Nate overcome the lies, the hurt, the deception, the misunderstandings, and betrayal to find their happily ever after? What happens when someone Myra knows goes off the deep end? I absolutely love Carrie Ann Ryan! From Our First is another fantastic book in the Promise Me series. The chemistry between Nate and Myra is undeniable and explosive. Love how the Bradys and the pack sisters support the couple as they try to find their way back to each other. From Our First will make you cry, scream in frustration, laugh, and cheer. I would highly recommend getting From Our First and all the other books in the Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received a free copy of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
This was not my favorite story. As per usual it was well written, with all of the standard points to make a good book, it just wasn’t for me. First, I hate second chance, it’s my least favorite trope. Second, I just don’t like Myra. I never liked her in any of the previous books in this series, and she didn’t do anything to make me like her in her own story. But it’s alright that I didn’t like her, because you don’t have to like everybody, even fictional characters. Considering my least favorite trope combined with a character I don’t care for made this story very boring to get through. I didn’t dislike Nate, he was just kinda there, nothing about him stuck out and in some strange way I like that. He was your everyday guy, and a lot of times in romance the everyday guy doesn’t exist. It was refreshing to read about someone who could actually be real. I’m leaving a 3 star review though because it was well written and there wasn’t actually anything “wrong” with it, it just wasn’t for me. Carrie Ann Ryan is a fabulous author and that she is able to write characters that I love, and characters that I don’t is a testament to her talents that she can invoke sure real emotion about fictional characters.
From Our First
I enjoyed this final story in the “Promise Me” series, the characters are great and their story is interesting
The narrators are great
4.5***** stars. Nate of the Brady brothers and Myra from the blind dating pact appear to get along for their common friends. The pact thinks it would be a great idea to set them up on a blind date, not telling either one what’s coming. What they don’t know is they have been keeping a huge secret, they were married and divorced to each other when they were in college. Her family is manipulative, greedy, mean and nasty. That is until she is named the main heir to grandma’s fortune. Now they are downright evil. They are devastated when they find out that the betrayal was orchestrated by the evildoers. Well written and interesting reading that kept you enthralled from beginning to end.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
In this final book of this series we get Nate and Myra’s story and it started with a bang! The pair start out with no desire to date and their continued angsty feelings when it comes out that they had secretly married and divorced when they were younger. When the true events from the past come to light the pair draw a truce and then discover that they still have feelings for each other. As they were navigating their feelings, Myra is dealing with the loss of her grandmother and her family that had manipulated her relationship with Nate in the past and are currently working to fight her for her inheritance.
The pair were well written but at times, I was not in love with Myra’s icy defense move in her personality as her comes off as spoiled. When she let’s her defenses down, she is a more likable character as she appears more real. Nate was a strong character throughout. He acknowledged his mistakes from the past and tried his hardest to make amends for the past. I did enjoy the return of the characters from the previous books and the interactions that they have with each other.
In the audio version, the narrators Jason Clarke and Emma Wilde did a great job with performing this story. They both brought the story to life and made it an enjoyable listening experience.
So many secrets and years of denial and hurt but in the end love found its way back.
Nate and Myra have had this tension between them from the moment we first encountered them together. What that tension was, left this reader with many questions about the two of them.
From Our First, the last book in the Promise Me series, gives us the emotional journey of Nate and Myra’s story. Married young, torn apart and harboring anger towards one another. Years have passed and their feelings towards each other are still at extreme levels. With their closest friends and family coupling off it’s near impossible for the two of them to be a part. Myra and Nate call a truce between them on behalf of their friend. As the secrets are coming to light, there is so much more than hate for Myra and Nate. They just have to be willing to make the jump.
Wow! Second chances and love to hate to love. From Our First a wonderful conclusion to the Promise Me series. Nate and Myra truly truly love one another yet they had A hard journey to get there. Lots of secrets, emotions all over the place, a bit of suspense and a lot of love. These may be the two most stubborn characters. Both being so strong willed yet they prove to each other time and time again they do truly love one another.
This is the 4th book in this series and Nate and Myra’s journey. They have been through a lot and even when their relationship ended their love still remained. This was such a roller-coaster of emotions but I couldn’t put it down once I started. Along with the emotions it was filled with angst, secrets, suspense and heartbreak mixed with passion and humour
This author never disappoints me with her writing and I’m excited to see what she brings us next.
Awesome end to the series!! Nate and Myra’s story was worth the wait!! The hostile undercurrent that was between them in all the other books is explained in the first chapter!! They have been keeping a huge secret from everyone, partly to hide their pain and partly because neither wants to relive the past. Myra knows she is the last one to have her “pact” blind date and is beyond shocked when Nate shows up at the restaurant. Nate knows his family was only trying to help by setting him up on a blind date, but seeing Myra at the table changes everything. They now must find a way to try to get past the hurt and try to be civil, while fighting the feelings that really neve left them. Loved this!!!!!
Secrets you just gotta love em. They make for great gossip and fantastic reading. Sadly though Nate and Myra have a turbulent past. This is also a second chance if they can get past all the drama. If they want to heal I say too they have to get over a few things. You also get a added element with this one besides being the conclusion is suspense. We are given every last drop in this one not tearing away from a single moment. Fabulous couple who deserved a chance.
This is a beautiful and emotional story that pulls you right in! Nate & Myra’s journey is one that isn’t easy but the best ones never are. These two have chemistry, secrets, problems but most of all they have a love that will endure all their issues and help bring them together once again. This book is such a well written second chance romance!
This is the final book in the Promise Me series, the last Brady brother, Nate, and the last of the pact sisters, Myra. They have a secret they’ve been keeping from everyone (a doozie of one too!) and they’re trying to navigate around that. When Myra’s nasty parents & cousin drop in unexpectedly, they drop a few bombs on her, and Nate, which leads to to tell their secret. And maybe get a second chance. But life isn’t ever that easy. Emotions are never that easy. And they end up having to deal with more than just their hearts. This was a great ending to the series. Filled with lots of emotions, fun, sexiness, and of course, some danger. I’m happy the pact sisters and Brady brothers ended up making their own family. You can never have too much!
This story is the last in the Promise Me series and I have loved every story. The premise is that 4 friends form a pact to set each other on blind dates and so far, the 3 before Myra have hit jackpots with their dates. However, Myra knows she won’t have the same luck. And she finds that out on her first date, they set her up with Nate. Nate and Myra share a past that only a select few know.
Nate and Myra just broke my heart, how do you come back from what they experienced. The way Carrie Ann writes, you certainly felt that you were right there with them, your heart breaking at the same time.
As the story continues, their friends and siblings are there for it all. I won’t go too much into the ending because of spoilers, but wow, I was biting my nails, so many twists and turns. But Carrie Ann knows how to give us a great second chance love story, I did not want it to end!
This was a great conclusion to the Promise Me series. Nate and Myra have had tension from when we first meet them. It was hard to tell if it was chemistry or just dislike. Their initial story is full of young love, excitement and pain. For Myra her family was never in her corner and she felt betrayed by the one person who she thought was in her corner, unaware of the shady tactics from her parents. Nate had his heart broken and his faith crushed so young that he was unable to see beyond the superficial. As their world collide over and over again they both are stunned by the lengths Myra’s family went to in order to keep a hold of their way of life. My heart ached for both Nate and Myra when the truth came out. I loved seeing that neither could contain their love and passion. this was a great story and a great wrap up to the Promise Me series.
The Promise Me series comes to an end with Nate Brady and Maya West. What a great way for the series to come together. Nate is one of the 4 Brady brothers, while Maya is the last of the “pact sisters” to find her HEA. The road to Happily Ever After is never easy, especially for Nate and Maya. With all the other pact sisters now involved with Brady brothers, Maya and Nate are thrown together with increasing frequency. The problem is that they already have a past that no one knows about. As they work through their past, they get to build a future.
This is another wonderfully woven tale by Carrie Ann Ryan.
