Being embroiled in an FBI sting isn’t exactly conducive for book research or warm fuzzies—or is it?Samantha Arnold, prep cook and struggling romance novelist, believes adventure is right around the corner. Trouble is, nothing exciting happens in the small town of Newburg, Indiana. When a routine trip to pick up chicken results in meeting a guy too well-dressed to be a farmer, she can’t help but … farmer, she can’t help but hope things are about to turn.
Special Agent Patton Mitchell isn’t exactly enjoying his stint in the farming community. The property he’s using as a home base adjoins that of his mark, and it also connects him with meek and mild Samantha. Her questionable Internet search history has triggered a visit from the NSA, which means him, and he’s not above a little flirting to get his answers.
Suddenly, small town life explodes into a story right out of Sam’s imagination, with intrigue, guns and betrayal to boot. What she thinks of as a madcap caper is a fight for life or death in Mitchell’s book. Between dodging bullets, chasing a would-be terrorist and dealing with drop-in relatives, there might just be a shot at romance—if the bad guys don’t get them first.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read written by Sandra Sookoo; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

This is a wonderful romantic thriller that will definitely keepyou on the edge of your seat and engaged until the end. Ms. Sookoo has a wonderful way of writing that makes you feel like you are right there watching every scene unfold. Samantha and Mitchell are great together. You can totally feel the chemistry between them. This a great book with romance, comedy, and suspense all rolled up into one terrific story. This story had me laughing as Samantha Arnold a prep cook and writer, and Special Agent Patton Mitchell chased the villain. This is book one in the Unlikely Partners series and I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
She went contemporary.
This is the first contemporary book I’ve read by this author. Overall, I liked the oddness and small town vibe. (Although I believe she used a word you are not supposed to use in reference to the chickens because it’s derogatory). Then there’s Mitchell Mitchell, the FBI guy doing surveillance. And Samantha the small town chef/wannabe writer.

Samantha thinks her life is the same old routine every day. As a budding writer she yearns for adventure and romance. Then she meets Mitchell who is Special Agent trying to see if she is part of the case he’s investigating. I enjoyed the action and sweet romance in this story. I absolutely loved this book!! I thought Samantha was an absolute gem and it was fantastic how she never backed down from challenging Mitchell Mitchell (you have to read the book to catch on to why that is his name..supposedly, anyway lol). The flavor Ms. Sookoo instilled into the local citizenry was top-notch and the action was interspersed with great episodes of wonderful humor and comedy. I had only read the Historical Romances by Sandra Sookoo prior to reading this book and I must say that not only is she a great HR author but this proves to me that she is an exceptional author no matter what the genre!

From Indiana, with Love is the first book in the Unlikely Partners series and is a great start to this new series.
If they call you paranoid because you believe the government is checking to see what you’re doing on the internet, it’s not paranoia, it’s reality.
I really enjoyed this book and found the characters to be likable and relatable. The storyline is well written and fresh, entertaining and engaging, with danger, humour, suspense, and romance.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

My mother always says to be careful what you put out into the world. And with the internet. You never know who’s listening.
We’re really that old that we’re from the era before public access internet. It might sound a little funny the way she puts it, but she remembers when using the precursors to today’s internet meant background checks by government agencies and specific statements of intent for use and research, not memes or butt photos
Mom doesn’t think that government interest in internet usage ever really went away. Samantha is about to find that out, via a government surveillance of her
Surprises from her rural locale pop up, along with betrayal and bullet wielding baddies
Humorous romance and adventure
