Murder. It’s a perennial problem. Verity Hawkes is a shut-in. After two years bunkered in her apartment, the only thing that gets her out is the disappearance of her beloved but eccentric aunt. As she takes over her aunt’s landscaping shop, she’ll need to go from hoarder to horticulturist in a hurry… obnoxious client. When a series of freak accidents kills the customer, all signs point to Verity as the killer.
The hunt for answers is on, and Verity must question a tipsy carpenter, a bacon-peddling vegan baker, and her dreamy landscaping competitor to keep her new life afloat. Failure to find the truth could put her back in a confined space for much more than two years…
From Garden To Grave is the first book in a series of delightfully funny cozy mysteries. If you like lovably quirky characters, deceptively idyllic Canadian villages, and twists you won’t see coming, then you’ll love Rickie Blair’s Leafy Hollow Mysteries.

After the death of her husband, Verity is a shut-in. She is forced from her solitude and to a little village, when she receives a call to clean up her aunt’s paperwork. While working on her aunt’s papers, she meets new people and begins making friends. Soon, her new excitement is tabled when the police blame her for two murders. She has to find the killer before the police put her in jail. I liked the plot and the characters are interesting.
I read all of her books in this series in three days and wished for more.

A great cast of characters, an original plot, good humor
and a well written cozy.
I could read it again and still enjoy it the second time around!
I enjoyed reading this book. It combined mystery with humor.
I am trying to expand my reading tastes and am reading a cozy mystery in-between my normal Women’s Fiction and Romance books, so I am by no means an expert at mysteries. I need the plots to be easy to follow and not too complicated. This book was exactly what I enjoy. It was about serious happenings, but also filled with humor. I was laughing at loud at several parts and then continued to laugh, totally enjoying the funny scenes in my mind.
This was the first book that i read by this author, Rickie Blair. She did an amazing job on the character development, the setting of the scenes and the plot. It was a breath of fresh air to take a break from my normal pattern of reading. I need to look into her other books, I am sure I will like them also.
Love cozy mysteries. A good read.
I liked this so well i bought the next two
Had some fun twists I didn’t expect
Enjoyed .
I LOVED this book and cannot wait until I can purchase the sequels. This was a layered plot with an ongoing thread that will carry the series forward. The hint of spy drama overlapping with realistic murder mystery was just fantastic.
Liked it so much I bought other books in this series. Fun to read.
This book was a really good read and I found it hard to stop for the evening to go to bed. The characters were believable and it was refreshing not to have “love scenes” like some of the other books out there.
I enjoyed this book so much I bought two more in the series. Fun read!
