Murder. It’s a perennial problem. Verity Hawkes is a shut-in. After two years bunkered in her apartment, the only thing that gets her out is the disappearance of her beloved but eccentric aunt. As she takes over her aunt’s landscaping shop, she’ll need to go from hoarder to horticulturist in a hurry… obnoxious client. When a series of freak accidents kills the customer, all signs point to Verity as the killer.
The hunt for answers is on, and Verity must question a tipsy carpenter, a bacon-peddling vegan baker, and her dreamy landscaping competitor to keep her new life afloat. Failure to find the truth could put her back in a confined space for much more than two years…
From Garden To Grave is the first book in a series of delightfully funny cozy mysteries. If you like lovably quirky characters, deceptively idyllic Canadian villages, and twists you won’t see coming, then you’ll love Rickie Blair’s Leafy Hollow Mysteries.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought the other two in this series. Very funny. Funny and also odd character s and some romance. Also a mystery. Love it
Great book
This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. Verity is searching for her aunt in the meantime two more people end up dead. In a very short time a quiet town turns into a communities worst nightmare. Will Verity end up in jail or will she solve the mystery. Read this book and find out.
I really liked this book. It was well written and I liked the characters. Verity hardly ever leaves home ,but when she gets a call from her aunt’s lawyer, she feels she has to go. And, as soon as she gets there, trouble finds her. This was a very entertaining book that will keep you flipping the pages. Can’t wait for the next book.
This was such a fun read! I really enjoyed the characters and the town, and the mystery was well done! I’m on to book two already 🙂
Small towns love gossip–and it flys faster then the speed of light! When the town decided that Verity Hawkes was guilty of just about everything—well it took a while. All she was trying to do was prove her Aunt was missing–not dead.
She knew nothing about gardening but had to take over her Aunts Landscape business while living in her cottage that was in very bad repair! At least there were a few who befriended her and attempted to help her.
People kept being murdered and because she was the newbie in town she was blamed–Can she figure out who and why someone is murdering people? Will she be able to figure out where her Aunt is hiding-or is she really dead?
This is a cute and clean cozy with many twists and turns to keep you guessing!!
I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.
This is the first book in the Leafy Hollow Mysteries. For the most part, it is a standalone book – with the main mystery solved. The questions related to the MC’s aunt are left open-ended and the epilogue creates a bit of a cliffhanger in that regard.
I admit, I love cozies. Some are better than others. And while this one trots out some of the tired cozy norms -small town where everyone knows your business, “handsome” cop, and “fish out of water” MC – I still found it to be enjoyable. I liked the MC Verity and I enjoyed that she was intelligent – not just stumbling around the mystery. My favorite character was Verity’s neighbor – who I hope is explored more in the next book in the series. In addition, there were some humorous moments sprinkled throughout.
I have listened to Petrea Burchard narrate other books and I have always found her to be a very enjoyable listen – and she does not disappoint here.
This first book in the cozy mystery series did a great job of setting up the world for the series. Each character is unique, just a little quirky, and it all works. I laughed out loud more than once. And there are surprises right up to the end.
This was a great book! It had me laughing but also guessing who done it?
I read this book back in July of 2017 and loved it and was an introduction to this wonderful series. Now this book is available as an audiobook and I was lucky to receive a copy with the understanding that I would leave an honest review. Well, I loved it. Petrea Burchard is the narrator and she does a wonderful job of bringing this book to life. It was very much like getting a different perspective on the story. I hope I will get the chance to listen to the rest of the series as well.
This review is for the audio book.
Wow, I just loved this book and hope the next book is released soon because I want to find out what happens next. The characters were fun and I enjoyed the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the aunt. The small facts and secrets that Verity found out added a little something to the story and gave a little twist to what promises to be a great cozy mystery series. It also had me chuckling in a few places.
When Verify’s Aunt disappears in leafy Hollow, she has to leave her apartment after two years and face her fears to travel to the sleepy town. When she arrives things are not quite what she is expecting, her aunts cottage is run down and her garden business is in trouble. Verity doesn’t believe her resourceful and eccentric aunt can be dead and decides to stick around and keep things going for her aunt until she returns. The problem is Verity doesn’t know anything about gardening and her first job doesn’t go well but it turns even worse when the client turn up dead. It turns out Leafy Hollow isn’t so sleepy and as Verity was the last person to have a shouting match with the victim the police are taking a closer look at her. Can Varity solve the disappearance of her aunty? Or more importantly dig up clues that will stop herself from being arrested?
The narrator was good and I liked her use of vocals for all the characters.
All in all I liked this book and I highly recommend it, in fact I am going to suggest my mum listens to it too.
it was fun and suspenseful

Loved this book, Funny and still a page turner. Really how much trouble can 1 person get into. Great easy read.
This is a great story that shows that sometimes in the face of tragedy you need to find something to do to help heal. It was a sweet reminder that life does go on and you need to make the most of it. It also shows that friends are the best way to keep in the game of life.
I have just finish the reading the BOOK and plan to read more of her works Marcia SPICER
