Obsessed with this YA series, original and unputdownable!
Can’t wait to dive into this one!
This series is such a departure from what I know and love from Carrie Ann Ryan, but DANG. I LOVE THIS SERIES.
Lyric is a fantastic heroine, and her adventures along the way to finding herself are just incredible. The mythology she’s built, the elemental components – this series speaks to my heart in so many ways. I was thrilled with the first one, but I actually think this one was better.
If you enjoy this kind of fantasy story, I cannot recommend this one highly enough!
THIS. BOOK…THIS. SERIES…OH.MY.GOD. My brain is still in a whirl and my heart is on a race. Magical elements, magical territories, magical good and bad and the UNKNOWN…the things that Lyric has already faced and what will she face next…I LOVE THIS SERIES
Book 2 in Elements of Five series by Carrie Ann Ryan
This book is devastating a lot happens in last book and this does continue from previous but there is a slight break.
Lyric comes back to human realm to take a break but she struggles to come to terms with what happen previously. Lyric returns to Maison Realm to begin her training to become the Spirit Priestess.
I will admit that I listen to the first and third book in wrong order but still understood everything and things definitely make sense now once I listen to all books.
Absolutely fantastic YA book but also have a fantastic narrators Bailey Carr.
A year has passed since we left Lyric
Now it’s even harder for her to figure out who’s friends and who are foes.
But she is destined to be the Spirit Priestess so she has the gumption to carry on with her difficult journey. Join her and her ‘crew’ as they travel through the kingdoms and endure more trials and tribulations while everyone and their mother is out for Lyrics blood or allegiance
A brilliant young adult series that shouldn’t be pigeonholed into just young adult….im many moons passed the demographic but I thoroughly enjoyed it
This isn’t the type of story I typically read but after giving the first in the series a try I’ve been hooked! This one has great action and suspense. It continues with Lyric’s journey as well as her friends. It truly delves into Lyrics feelings and emotions as she goes through her journey and keeps you wanting more! Can’t wait to read the next in the series!
I have to be honest, I’m not big on Fantasy books. I have a very limited attention span for them. With that being said, I actually liked this story. I liked it enough to go by book 1. Yes, I read book 2 before one which I also usually do not do at all. I’m very big on reading things in order. Loved the Characters and the tale for the series. The flow of the story and the development of the Plot is wonderful writing. I can’t wait for Book 3. I’ve already added it to my list to read when released.
If you are into fantasy mixed with some drama, then this story is for you. The main character I will say is definitely tenacious and the journey she endeavors is one many will enjoy. I had a hard time getting into this story and was not as big of a fan as I would had hoped. While I was not as into this story as others, I encourage everyone to read and form their own opinions. I am a big fan of the author’s other works and look forward to what she puts out with next.
Great read I loved this book this was a great next book I loved that it basically picked up where the first one left off.
loved it cant wait for the next book
New YA Fantasy from Carrie Ann Ryan will blow your mind! Love this different, intriguing direction for her!
This is the second instalment in this YA series by Carrie Ann Ryan Lyric finds herself in a world with so much mystery but with no one to guide her to her true potential but she still has friends who will help her along the way.
Her journey continues as she battle fear, betrayal and mission upon mission from realm to realm as she tries to unlock her elemental powers.
An amazing read within the YA realm that will leave you captivated, spellbound and wanting more as Lyrics journey continues.
I generally love Carrie’s books but this one has really taken me awhile to get into, it was very repetitive in the story line of what has happened previously, so much so that it took away from the plot of the book.
Lyric must become what is prophesied but not without learning to do what needs to be done, she is a total conundrum not only to herself but to those around her in a world that is not her own. On a mission to find her true self as well as help those around her and heal the land as it needs to be. Lyric is on a mystical journey but will love find her or leave her all alone? Will she finally be able to wield the magic within herself to save the ones that need it?
Amazing second book in the Elements of Five series by Carrie Ann Ryan. From Flame to Ash takes place one year after the end of From Breath and Ruin. Lyric, the fated Spirit Priestess, is back in the human realm where she has continued training and reading about the history of the Maison realm. Will Lyric find out who her friends truly are, or who wants her dead? Lyric finds herself torn between two men when she develops feelings for both, Lyric knows she must return the spirit realm to finish her training to open up her other powers. Will Lyric learn to trust others to help her grow? Will Lyric stop doubting herself and her ability to save the spirit realm? I LOVE Carrie Ann Ryan! From Flame to Ash is a great books with interesting characters who face danger, magic, dragons, and adventure. I would highly recommend getting From Flame and Ash and From Breath and Ruin by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues Lyric’s epic journey in this spellbinding sequel to From Breath and Ruin.

From Flame and Ash is the second book in this wonderful series. This book follows Lyric back in the wielding realm. So much happened in this book and we are left with two major cliffhangers. The book moves very fast and I could not put it down. All the characters are really growing on me and I love all the interplay between them. Our group of heroes had so many dangerous obstacles to face this book but I feel that this is only the beginning. So much betrayal also occurred and the introduction of bone magic was crazy! Lyric is getting stronger but also cannot get her wielding under control without help. I’m very much on pins and needles waiting for book 3 because the are two huge cliffhangers and we need answers! Great book!
A year has gone by since Lyric returned to our realm from the Maison realm. She has lost a lot on this journey to become the spirit priestess. Her best friend is now her feline familiar. She knows she must return to finish her training but at the same time is scared to loose more. She must learn to trust more people that will help her grow and learn more of who she is as she tries to save this realm. Great writing and character development not just of Lyric but all those around her. Loved the first book and this is a great continuation. Waiting with baited breath for book 3 and more of this journey.
The excitement continues! From Flame & Ash is the 2nd book in the series and I was thoroughly captured by the story. Lyric continues to be is a captivating character and she pulled me right into her story once again. Lyric has lost so much yet gained in abilities she never knew she possessed. This new realm is rich with riddles and I can’t wait to see how they play out. Lyric has quite the journey ahead as more chaos ensues, more people are lost and she discovers just what her role is. Can’t wait for the next installment in the saga.
Although Lyric has been living in the human world she has accepted that it is time for her to accept her fate as the Spirit Priestess and return to the Maison realm so that she can discover the woman she is meant to be.
She returns believing that it will be Rhodes who will help her uncover the powers she hasn’t discovered yet and because of her feelings for him it gives her comfort but she soon finds out that she was mistaken. Rather she will be training with Easton and the Obscurite and the feelings between them were not only inconvenient but could have deadly consequences.
Torn between two men and facing an adventure unlike any other Lyric will need to focus all her energy and attention to find out who are truly her friends and who are her foes. Now we just need to wait for the next book in the series to see what lies in front of Lyric.
