Welcome back to Starling Bay.
Shay Donovan is having a hard time making ends meet, she is trying to help he parents pay the bills for her father’s medical treatments and she has been taking out loans and has told her parents she got a promotion and raise. Then Shay gets a call that changes her life, she if the sole beneficiary of her Great Aunt’s estate worth 21.5 million dollars, but there is a catch, she needs to be married.
Blake Kennedy has a good business but has been hit with a few unexpected expenses when equipment breaks down. Blake is also facing 3 of his 4 office personnel going out on maternity leave at the same time, in December.
Shay and Blake has seen each other and had a few exchanges over the years at the monthly business meetings, so they are not complete strangers. Shay has an idea, propose to Blake that they get married for 1 year and she will give him 1 million dollars. He is not bad looking so how hard can it be to live together, but not in the biblical sense, for 1 year so they can both earn the inheritance.
Can these two relative strangers make this fake marriage seem real to the lawyers that will periodically spot check that they are actually married, but still keep their arrangement a secret from their friends and family? Will their growing attraction only complicate an already complicated relationship?
This is a well written story that will have you turning the pages to see what will happen next. Although this is a stand alone book once you meet the characters fro Starling Bay, you will want to meet them all and learn more about them.

First comes marriage?
Shay has no boyfriend but needs to marry within the month in order to claim her inheritance. She’s helping her father with his medical bills due to his lung cancer.
She makes a proposition to Blake Kennedy. He’s a factory owner who could use the half mil she promises him to fake marry her and live together.
They promised each other no secrets but it’s all secrets and it’s complicated by his ex girlfriend Callie coming back and Blake’s jealousy over Rourke, a guy Shay’s crushed on. Because he’s liked her for three and a half years.

Shay never noticed Blake except when he rubbed her the wrong way until she needs a temporary husband to gain an inheritance from an aunt, which she wants to use to pay her father’s medical bills. Blake agrees to it for the money for his factory, but the more time he spends with Shay, the more he falls for her. But she has feelings for Rourke, right? And his ex is back in the picture trying to make a move him so Shay doesn’t see his heart as hers either. Their romance had plenty of rocky moments and misunderstandings. I didn’t like how she pushed him away in public because she didn’t want her friends and family to know, but she took the risk that the lawyers’ spies could have been watching and called her out on it.

Great Aunt Dena had one hell of an idea.
What would you do if you could inherit a large amount of money you just need to be married? Why not run off to Vegas with Blake and marry. He okay with the deal of being married to her but now Shay has another idea this is just a fake marriage after all. Plus there is that hot guy she likes. Will they get a hea? It is a cute story I really like Blake it takes Shay some time to get it together what great writing by the author. The twist at the end was awesome. It is a fun book I recommend you check it out. I actually cried a tear of happiness as I finished Shay and Blake’s love story. This story had all of the feels from sweet friendship blossoming into interest, angst, and the heat of anticipation. It also has the story of Shay’s ailing father that was touching and sad and hopeful, without being depressing.
I loved it!
