I am a huge fan of AM Hargrove. I really love her writing style and her stories. The blurb drew me into this story and I knew it would be a story that I would love. I didn’t want to put down Grey and Marin’s story.
These two people have been hurt in one of the worst ways imaginable by people they loved and trusted. They thought of another relationship to either of them just wasn’t in the cards. Dr. West was living in a darker world since he lost his wife and Marin brought color to his world. He needed to learn to live again and the sassy Marin challenged him at every turn. I loved that she didn’t take any crap from him and called him on things he needed to move past. He is older than she is, but that added to the story for me. Marin is extremely protective of Grey’s kids, even though she had never been around kids much. I loved watching her develop a great relationship with them.
This story did have me pulling my hair out at times at Grey’s stubborness to moving on. But in the end, I absolutely fell head of heals in love with him. This story was well told and emotional. Great read!
***5 ‘Team Marin’ Stars***
Talk about starting off with a bang! I was all “Seriously? Really?…Damn!” because there is no slow and steady build up. You’re tossed right into the thick of things and then you’re off and running as Marin and Grey collide and find that neither is exactly what they believe the other to be and that they may just be exactly what they never knew they wanted and needed.
I loved and adored Marin from the very beginning. No questions about it and though she did hit a bit of a rough patch for a bit, her fire wasn’t entirely extinguished. She’s honest and at times a bit too blunt for her own good, but when in the wrong, she will own up to it. Her heart is huge and she will throw down for those she claims as her own.
Greydon. This man…I have so much to say, but can’t because that would be all kinds of spoilers, so…I spent a good portion of the book frustrated with him, I empathize with him, but the urge to beat some sense into him was quite strong. But when I didn’t feel that way, I loved the man. He has a huge heart, is fun and flirty with a deliciously dirty mouth and watching him do the dad thing was just all kinds heart melting,
To say their journey is a rocky one is an understatement. It is truly a wonder that one of them didn’t end up dead, or at least seriously maimed (Greydon), but through all the roadblocks and potholes they encountered, they somehow found what they never knew they wanted in each other. Even when they weren’t on the best terms, their interactions were always entertaining on one level or another and the chemistry between them was intense. The huge sinkhole they encountered was and wasn’t expected, but the groveling was excellent and I loved watching them get their much deserved HEA.
This was an addictive read. Engaging and well paced, it kept me turning the pages until the very end. But’d I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that it was the secondary characters that made this read addictive. Each character was well written and I ended up absolutely loving Marin and Grey’s parents, his brothers Hudson & Pearson, Josh and Ashley and of course Kinsley and Aaron. They brought so much to the story, without taking over…well, Kinsley and Aaron did but they had every right to, and I cannot wait to get my hands on Hudson and Pearson’s books to not only watch as they are brought to their knees by a woman, but to spend more time with everyone!

What a fabulous story!
This story of Marin and Greydon was beautiful.
Both have been destroyed by previous relationships and both are fragile in their own way.
Marin is unique, she is beautiful in her own way. She went through some deep depression and was pushed to move beyond and she did to a job she wasn’t sure she was going to handle well.
Greydon, oh what a gorgeous mess he was. Two children, on his own and enough heartbreak to make him decide he is scarred for life. He is harsh, he can be a real a..hole, he knows it and over time he learns what damage that can do to someone you love.
I loved the alternate POV’s. I admired the way that A.M. embraced the flaws of Greydon and made him understand and realize the error of his ways. I swooned at the chemistry between Greydon and Marin, the dirty talk was oh so naughty and I actually blushed at some parts! (Made my hubby give me a strange look, a roll of the eyes and a head shake)
The story flowed smoothly and the secondary characters were perfect! I can’t wait to read more of the West siblings in future books!
I will be stalking A.M. shortly! This is the first book I have read, but it will not be the last!
This is my second book by this author and I absolutely love what I have read. This author does a jig on your heart as she makes this family go thru hell. I kinda forgave the asswipe attitude due to the circumstances (which the author slaps us with in the first chapter, talk about an opening). Originally I thought this author would take this down that known and safe path but I should have known better. She pulls out the big guns and gets you stuck on her characters and enjoying adorable kids. There are some family and friends that make this book even better and I am sure we will see their story soon.
Great story even though I had a hard time with these two as a couple but that’s just me. It was good with all the feels and more. Love this author
From Ashes To Flames was a nice read.
Marin and Greydon can’t be more different from each other but that only makes them even more perfect and they are complementary. The broody 41 year old doctor found his match with the colorful mid twenties nanny.
Their love story was a slow burn, and thanks to that it was more believable, but the pace was never dragging,on the contrary there were a couple of plot twists that kept me on my toes while reading.
This story grabbed and held my attention from start to end.I think this author has a real talent to write about kids because her little characters always tug at my heartstrings.
I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
