Jack is entranced by a barefoot goddess, so entranced he doesn’t get her name. For days afterward, his mind is still on her and he is so mad at himself that he didn’t ask her name at the very least. But when she walks back into his life, he’s even more smitten, and he wants her in his life. Unfortunately, Rebecca comes with things he has no desire for – life in the spotlight, paparazzi, and crazy ass fans who invade her privacy all the time. Fans like all the women in his life like his mom, his sisters, and his sister-in-law.
Becky never wanted to be in the spotlight, she never wanted fame, she never wanted crazy ass fans. No, she just wanted to write her stories. But those stories have given her a good life, so she has to take the good with the bad. And it’s too bad that the bad just might prevent her from being the first man to capture her interest since her husband passed.
I am completely surprised at how much I ended up liking From a Jack to a King. Jack and Becky make a wonderful couple, so passionate and so perfect for each other. About the only thing I didn’t like was that the author used that tired trick of making the characters (character) not communicate with each other, causing their big implosion. I wish authors would stop using mis and non-communication as the catalyst for breakups. There has to be some other situation that can be used because I’m tired of this particular one. Aside from this, though, I found From a Jack to a King top-notch with likable, relatable characters and a great story line.
Rebecca Finlay is an international best-selling author with a pair of teenage twins she is raising on her own after the death of her husband. Rebecca prefers to be called Becky and does not like the attention she gets from the paparazzi and fans alike. Jack Priestly is a very private person and an excellent chef who owns a 3-floor yacht that he uses as a very exclusive floating restaurant called the Boathouse. This story is full of family, laughter, heartache, romance, steam, and ends in a HEA. Highly recommended.

I started reading this and immediately got a sense of Isabella White’s other books from the Imperfect Love series.
The story sense was very similar and yet also a bit different. Even though I kept comparing this one with the other books, I still found it entertaining and sweet. I liked reading both views from the characters which gave insight into their relationships not just between them but also with other people.
It was a nice and light read that everyone would enjoy.
