A missing teenage boy. Three friends who know what happened. A secret they swear never to tell. Until the secret comes back to haunt them…thirty years later.Jack, Matt, Cassie, and Lisa are four friends growing up on “The Edge”, a cul-de-sac in the 80s. The alpha male, the lucky one, the goody-two shoes, and the glamorous hottie that all the boys want. On the outside, they seem to have it all. … all. Yet inside, the teens are shattered in pieces. It is their unbreakable friendship with each other that prevents them from falling apart. Until the one night when tragedy is set forth into motion by their actions, leaving one of the four dead…and missing. The remaining three swear to never speak of that night again…or to each other. They go their separate ways, hoping to bury their mistakes and the past.
Thirty years later, one of the friends gets an ominous message. Someone is digging into their past and threatening to expose their secret. Who is it and what do they really want? Is their secret the only thing that isn’t safe, or are their lives in danger, too?

It was interesting and I did parts of it.
Dialogues among the teens and their family situations were believable. The bonding of the neighborhood kids was typical and intriguing as it was based on loyalty and beauty. The conflicted sexual interactions as they grew from childhood into teens was authentic. Sometimes in the attempt to keep ‘the secret’ from the reader, the characters in the plot became less than clear. However, there was enough tension to keep the pages turning and the reader guessing. The ending was not a surprise, but a truthful conclusion to the situation as the 15 year olds understood it. Life moved on despite their trauma, as life always does.
Compelling read – This book caught my interest immediately. I could picture the kids and their setting in small town life as I grew up playing outside and wandering the neighborhood with a consistent group of kids back in the day. I thought that the premise that an awful event which occurred in youth could impact their entire lives was plausible given their youth and the fear factor from a very scary adult. I enjoyed the telling – bouncing between then and now which allowed a slow reveal of the actual scenario. The telling allowed for some twists which kept me reading and ultimately surprised me. I do agree with some readers that there were things which did not add to the story and could have been removed. I disagree about comments about too much language and sex – not in my opinion…and nothing explicit – just background. There were many typographical/syntax errors which would benefit from some good editing. I would, however, recommend this as a good read for pleasure.
This book kept me guessing right up to the end. What I liked about it was it gives you subtle hints throughout. Very well written and intriquing. Its a very good mystery.
Thought I had it figured out then dang if it didn’t flip on me. Excellent read though.
i loved this book
The book was good and had a great surprise ending. My only bad reaction to the ending – was HOW did they do what they did? You would have to read it to understand what I am saying. Over all, well worth the read.
A little strange to read but entertaining and interesting. Each has their own set of problems but all are affected by same event. Ok read
Couldn’t get into this book. It’s already been done.
Quick and easy read. Couldn’t put the book down, would have never guessed the ending.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Very entertaining.
Surprise ending
This is a very approach to a nice crime read plus some excellent character development.
Go ahead and read it. Took me 2 days, it was enjoyable. I did not expect the twist at the end. It’s a great “Who done it”.
good mystery a real twister Thought I had it figured out and then they threw in a twist.
I like this author . Did a really good job at throwing you off on a few things . Which is something for me cause i always know what’s going to happen .
quick read, has you guessing until very end
Thought it was just okay. Many opportunities to develop the characters that didn’t seem to happen.
Good reading !
