Liam Walsh is just a roommate.Maybe if Charlie St. James repeats it enough, she’ll stop lusting after him. Not that it matters how she feels anyway, because Liam will always see her as one of the boys. Hell, he’s the one who gave her the nickname Charlie as a joke.Well, the joke’s on her.Now that she is confined to less than 1,000 square feet with him, she can’t stop thinking about how it would … thinking about how it would feel to get just a little bit closer.
Charlie St. James is off limits.
She’s been Liam Walsh’s best friend since grade school. He thought it wouldn’t be a big deal to let her crash with him when she needed a place to stay, but he was dead wrong. Knowing only a thin wall separates them when they sleep, that she’s naked in the shower while he lays in bed fantasizing about her, is unbearable.
When their cozy two bedroom goes from friend zone to war zone, they’ll either burn up the sheets or go down in flames.

I love friends-to-lovers stories and I love what Nicole did with this. I fell in love with Liam and Charlie. Their friendship is cherished but lines can be blurred when different feelings develop. What they both thought was unrequited love was actually reciprocated. Their chemistry is out of this world and I enjoyed reading their story and them finally admitting their feelings for each other.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Liam and Charlie have been best friends for a long time. Now, he is feeling more for her than friendship. Is it smart to act on those feelings? He must decide before it is too late if he can be the man she needs.
Charlotte AKA “Charlie” has just realized she wants more from her best friend, Liam. All of a sudden the way she feels about him is just not enough. Every time she is in the same room it seems there are so many sparks flying, she is afraid she will combust.
This is such a sweet and yet very sexy story. I was engrossed in it pretty quick. Besides being my favorite trope, the characters are smart, sexy, and have great banter. They get right to the heart of things. I loved the pace and the fact it starts out this new series just right!
***This copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.
I’ve never been a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope because I just want to yell at the people to stop being stupid, but I’ve enjoyed lots of this author’s books, so I wanted to give this a read. I’m glad I did! Really enjoyed the whole book! Very sweet connection between Liam and Charlie; I can feel how much they care for each other in their actions. The author did a great job getting the depth of feelings Liam and Charlie feel for each other. They’ve been friends for years, but both are scared to have more with each other; both are a bit emotionally stunted. Good passion between them! Liam is a sweetheart and so supportive of Charlie. Charlie is supportive of him to, and I loved how honest she is with him. Overall, a touching story. Looking forward to the next book; I love enemies to lovers!
This is a nice read, a good start to the series. The characters and plot are solid. Recommended for fans of the genre.
Loved this story of best friends and beyond.
Young Adult Romance
Nichole Blanchard’s book is about two young (22+) adults who have been friends since they were twelve, and who are now facing personal and academic changes that affect their relationship.
The lead characters in Friend Zone are both likable and the points of view are split between them. The supporting characters are interesting, but the story is thin and predictable. The ending is happy, but in some ways incomplete. All in all, just not a book I will keep on my e-reader.
Content 411: In addition to secular and religious expletives, there are 40+ “f” bombs and multiple descriptive sex scenes.
Another great book by Nicole that I really enjoyed. Liam & Charlie are best friends and I loved reading their book. If you love best friends turn lovers then this is a must read. Great story with great characters that I really enjoyed.
Best friends forever
Whoops, I did it again. I played with your heart…
Seems like Charlie is guilty of breaking a few hearts and yet, Liam never saw it coming. Best friends for 10+ years, Charlie and Liam are attached at the hip. Everyone can see them as a couple and yet they aren’t.
One bad break up…
One impulsive decision…
One kiss to ruin all others…
It’s tricky navigating the Friend Zone when you’ve obliterated the lines. Liam and Charlie need to learn to get past their hang ups so they can rock their happily ever after.
Sweet, sexy, and full of listy moments, Friend Zone is a smile inducing friends to lovers romance. Ms. Blanchard isn’t done yet either. She set up the next two books quite nicely with the teasing glimpses at Charlie’s other besties. I am excited to see Ember and Layla own their HEAs too.
Charlie and Liam’s friendship is genuine and as their feelings for each other change and become intimate it makes for such a great read.
Theres so much happening in their lives, their relationship is not the smoothest of journeys but one thing that remains true is their love for each other and knowing how right it feels to be together.
Friends, roommates and maybe more
Friend Zone is the first book of the Friend Zone series by Nicole Blanchard. As this is the first book I have read by the author I was not sure what to expect. I was quite impressed with this well written book. It has a solid story-line and great characters. The story has angst, drama, twists, friendship, relationships and some good chemistry between Charlie and Liam. I was pulled immediately into the story and it kept my interest the whole way through.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Liam and Charlie lived next door when they were younger and grew up as best friends. Liam has always had Charlie’s back as she has had some hard knocks in her life. Charlie dates guys until they start getting serious and then drops them. This last guy was thinking about proposing and that hit Liam in the stomach. He just can’t imagine his life without Charlie in it. Something happens to Charlie’s apartment and Liam offers to let her stay with him.
I loved how they both figured out they were attracted to each other, but neither had the courage to do anything about. I loved how good Liam was with Charlie. Liam’s parents and grandmother always treated Charlie like family. I hated seeing what Ian’s grandmother went through and how it affected the whole family, including Charlie. There are some surprises that happen in the story too. I strongly encourage you to read the the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
This is the first in a new series and is Liam and Charlie’s story. These two have been best friends for years, but one impulsive kiss had them looking at each other differently. This is a well written story which is sweet, steamy, heartbreaking and with drama and romance. I was intrigued and hooked throughout and look forward to reading more from this talented author.
I sometimes don’t like the whole friends-to-lovers trope. It just gets repetitive. But Friend Zone felt different. There was no main character sitting there, pining away for their BFF, while said BFF is blind to their feelings. Luckily, there was none of that in Friend Zone. What we got were two best friends who mutually came to realize that their friendship could and should be more.
Both Liam and Charlie act immature at times…but they’re young and in their first really important relationship, so they get a pass. I like how they treated each other; they truly cared about the other’s well-being. Liam and Charlie’s relationship felt natural…more like “what had you been waiting for?” Friend Zone was well written, including character depth I was not expecting.
This is the first book I’ve read by Nicole Blanchard, but I can assure you it won’t be my last.

This was okay for me. The writing was okay, but it was hard for me to get into a first. It takes half the book before Liam and Charlie finally act on their feelings, and it did pick up after that. I liked Liam and Charlie together, they were good for each other. The story line about Liam’s grandma was hard to read, because I’ve had family members go through that as well. I’m not sure how I feel about April coming back into the picture. I know forgiveness is good for yourself as well as the one you’re forgiving, but I felt it happened too easily. She never really had to explain herself. And the new family thing? Not sure I could have gotten over that like Charlie did. The ending was sweet. I enjoyed the glimpse into the future. If you like YA stories, then I think you’d enjoy this one.
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Another great read by Nicole. A few twists and turns making a great friend to lover story. Nicole isn’t scared to have sad moments, as well making it a believable and enjoyable story about a couple of best friends who are feeling the dilemma of “I am having feelings for my best friend, will starting a relationship be amazing or ruin our friendship for ever”. Throw in some family drama on both sides and you have a very readable story. I am looking forward to reading Charlie’s friends’ stories as well. I received a copy of this book to review it. Would I recommend? Yes!
Charlie and Liam have been best friends since they were children and his family had become her family. Her feelings for Liam run much deeper than friends but he never shown any interest that he wanted to be anything else and she is scared to take that leap as she wouldn’t only lose him, but she would lose his family as well.
Growing up together Liam has always seen Charlie as a friend and would do anything to help her out. When the relationship with her boyfriend comes to an end he offers to let her move in and become his roommate which turns both their worlds upside down.
Spending time together Charlie finds Liam hard to resist and for the first time Liam sees Charlie as a woman and not a friend. Neither of them can forget the explosive kiss they shared which now has them questioning their relationship but with all the emotional upheaval in both their lives their journey is far from easy.
Friend Zone is the first book in the Friend Zone Series. I enjoy reading friends to lovers stories, and I got to say this one is so good, sweet and sexy. The characters were likeable and genuine with their feelings and actions. I liked Liam and Charlie, they were so perfect together. Secondary characters were comical at times. Looking forward to reading Layla and Dash’s story next.
What would you think if I told you… I wanted to hold you? To be more than your friend… to be your lover… your partner… forever by your side, looking out for you?
This is Liam and Charlie’s journey into the unknown aspects of their relationship. A relationship that has spanned their childhood, their friendship, and now it becomes a little disconcerting when emotions and attraction develops. Just how is one to respond in such close quarters?
Nicole Blanchard gifts you Liam and Charlie’s beautifully, depicted a story about connections, family, love and that all important communication and trust. Connections that are filled with angst, at times fragile and filled with second guesses and fear of failing. When you’ve suffered so much already, losing that one person who has been your constant is just something you can’t consider. You’d rather stay in that safe zone of comfort, just be friends rather than push boundaries and explore a chemistry, that if ignited has so many unknown quantities.
Sometimes you need to listen hard to your heart… that to take that risk is its own reward and leads to so many new possibilities, even when life doesn’t come with guarantees. Trust that person who has always been there – that you can be both friend and lover.
I really enjoyed reading my very first book by Nicole Blanchard. It’s fun, lighthearted but also has those emotional, serious, angsty tones throughout Liam and Charlie’s journey. It’s real life and situations we can all find ourselves in.
I just love these friends to lover stories. They get me every time! I like seeing their friendship before they become a couple. I like reading about how their feelings go from being friendly into looking at each other with a whole new meaning. I feel that their relationship is so much stronger because of the bond they have with each other already. Liam and Charlie were so cute. Even though they were unsure at first, I knew they were perfect together! This is a nice, light hearted story. It’ll have you swooning, laughing, and you just might even find yourself getting a little flustered! Liam sure does know how to get pretty steamy between those sheets!!

Fun, sweet and sexy friends to lovers romance
Charlie and Liam have been friends since they were little children. Both have imagined taking their friendship to the next level but are scared of messing up their great friendship and bond. One kiss in the heat of the moment is the catalyst to them exploring being something more.
Awesome story, great writing, great characters. Enjoyed going on this ride with these characters.
