The story of a young heiress’s initiation into the dark society of the Chicagoland Vampires continues…Ten months after vampires revealed their existence to the mortals of Chicago, they’re enjoying a celebrity status usually reserved for the Hollywood elite. But should people learn about the Raves–mass feeding parties where vampires round up humans like cattle–the citizens will start … will start sharpening their stakes.
So now it’s up to the new vampire Merit to reconnect with her upper class family and act as liaison between humans and bloodsuckers, and keep the more unsavory aspects of the vampire lifestyle out of the media. But someone doesn’t want peace between them–someone with an ancient grudge…

Action, and intrigue galore, but the hated cliffhanger ending ruined it!
I am really enjoying this series. This book ended with a bit of a cliffhanger, so I was happy to have book 3 ready to go.
Merit is coming to terms with what she is and embracing her new role in life, but in this book she’s forced to confront her parents again and other people from her past whom she left behind long before she was turned. A returning enemy has pitted some of the sups against each other and it falls to Ethan and Merit to figure out who and why.
I enjoy the drama between Merit and Ethan, Merit and Morgan and pretty much Merit and everyone else in this book. It created some very entertaining reading. I also love the nod to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast when Ethan showed Merit the library. (Isn’t that what we all secretly dream of?)
I’m eager to see what unfolds next with the cliffhanger ending, and with Mallory as she learns more about her powers and trains. I really like her and Catcher, and I wonder if there will be a love interest for Jeff as well.
Readers of paranormal fiction and especially vampire romance are going to love this series.
I’m completely and utterly consumed by this series. So far each book has been wonderful, the characters are interesting and fun. There’s plenty of action, mystery and schemes for the characters to figure out. So for it’s not at all very sexual and I don’t remember hearing swearing (but unless it’s bad, I probably wouldn’t notice), yeah just get so used to hearing it. I highly recommend this series, it’s so good.
The performance from the reader is very good.
Although this installment didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat as much as Some Girls Bite, I still enjoyed it! For me, Friday Night Bites had too much high society schmoozing and not enough kick-butt action. Despite all the schmoozing, I did enjoy the mystery involved with the raves and of course, Merit and Sullivan’s chemistry.
Another AMAZING book! I love the storyline and I’m digging the characters. Ethan is still a d*ckhead but maybe a little less after this book. Mabye 😉
Merit is solid heroine. She’s having a difficult time adjusting to being a vampire and her new position in the House. But she doesn’t let the fear stop her. She’s courageous, a bit naive and a little vulnerable. I’m really enjoying the series and ready to start the next book!
This is my second time reading this series. It’s been awhile, so wanted to refresh myself before the new one comes out.
I absolutely love Merit. There is a lot of action in this one. Celina is back in Chicago and things are getting twisted to pit the vamps against shifters and humans. There is a lot that is happening.
I love the push and pull between Merit and Ethan. There is so much tension.
I forgot what happens in the next book, this is like reading it for the first time again. What is Merit getting herself into at the end of this book?
