TwistGone.I lost my mind that day.I arrived home, to my wife’s sweet color, stripped. Her body motionless, slain in a puddle of blood, her delicate skin, riddled with multiple stab wounds. The brutality of the rape was horrendous. My precious little girl lain in the middle of the floor, pillow securely duct taped on her face. Her tiny body, left unmoving. I’ve never screamed so savagely, wishing … never screamed so savagely, wishing I was dead before in my life.
Hope.
I’ve long given up on any light in my life, jaded. I wasn’t expecting to be blinded with friction, by a fucking ray of sunshine.

What I find instead, is a hunter. A fiercely loyal, broken man, just waiting for his next kill.

Twist is a broken man after his wife and child are brutally murdered.
Sadie is the little sister of 2, she’s pregnant and finds herself on her own.
Instant connection and chemistry between her and Twist but when you have hit your lowest point it’s hard to crawl up from that and think that you deserve happiness.
Sadie is pure sunshine but she has no problem expressing her attitude to Twist.
I liked this book, the two main character compliment each other. In their messed up situations they were able to find happiness together.
An emotionally beautiful and sensually seductive ride to go on with Twist and Sadie. Sadie brought a different side to Twist. This story has the perfect amount of angst, drama, thrills and of course romance. I loved and adored this journey.
Another amazing book by Sapphire. Twist’s story completely broke my heart and the pain that he was suffering in silence until Sadie came along. I loved the story so much.
What a horrifying start to a really emotional and troubled story, it’s full of pain and suffering. Twist, we know has his own ways of dealing with life but in this we find out why and what made him into who he is, all the while he starts to slowly find some peace and happiness, no-one deserves it more. Sadie just wanted to get to her brother, she needs support and help, she finds so much more than that. This was a nail biting read, with tension, angst, pain and violence. It also had tons of support and love a round. I would have liked some explanation of the 2 prospects, the last book had one son of the Prez called Brentley, now we have two sons with road names, couldn’t figure out where the second appeared from or which one was the original son. kind of confused me a bit. It’s just a consistency thing that maybe gets explained elsewhere, plus at this point Avery still isn’t expecting so that still doesn’t gel with the 16 year epilogue in the last book either with the child being almost 16. These points need to be clarified somewhere, it’s a shame because otherwise these books are fabulous, but I did feel this time I needed to mark down a point, which I hate. (Dual POVs)
Twist unfortunately has lost his wife and young daughter in a horrific murder years ago. When Sadie tells her baby daddy that she is pregnant, he slaps her around a bit before disappearing. Pregnant and alone, she comes to the MC to visit her brother 2 piece, since she is supposed to be on bed rest and he is the only person she can rely on. Twist takes a liking to Sadie and feels protective of her and her unborn child since losing his family years ago. It upsets him, being a man whose family was taken from him, for another man to beat on a woman and then leave her high and dry when she’s pregnant. They share the same bed every night but Twist holds back any urges in respect for Sadie being the sister to one of his MC brothers and he thinks he’s too fucked up to put his issues on Sadie. When the baby daddy’s identity comes to light, 2 piece and Twist try to find him to get some revenge, which causes some shit to hit the fan for the MC.
Even though a lot of the things Twist does are dark and twisted (perfect name for him btw), you sympathize with him after learning his story and his suffering. I LOVED Sadie! She doesn’t take any shit from anyone, including Twist. She’s strong and knows how to stand up for herself, whether it be verbally or physically. She’s also sweet and knows when to accept help. I think Sadie’s character definitely made this book more enjoyable for me than the others.
Favorite quotes:
”Oh really? Tell him to get his ass out here and talk to Sadie.”
He chuckles, surprised at my outburst. “Been a whole minute since a bitch spoke to me like that.”
“Bitch, huh? Go get my brother so he can beat your ass for calling me a bitch.” -Sadie
Just knowing she’s fertile and can create a life inside her after I’ve been plagued with death for so long makes my desire for her that much stronger. -Twist
”Don’t make me be alone any longer,” he demands quietly, as he presses into me. -Twist
Loved this book! Twist and Sadie have a sweet but gritty romance. This book has some great twist and turns. I have read it several times and it gets better with each read! I would recommend reading the previous books (or anything by Sapphire Knight!) in the series but you can read it as a standalone.
