Nothing is as it seems.Frey’s life is a lie. She doesn’t remember being bound from magic. She didn’t intend to discover this dangerous secret, to get entangled in Council business. But she did.And now she’s on the run. With the aid of a stranger, she discovers a world beyond the elves who bound her. But it’s a world of shadows and dark magic, a world she’s been warned not to … dark magic, a world she’s been warned not to trust. The farther she strays, the more she finds a forgotten past. As she fights to reclaim her true identity, Council trackers hunt her down.
If they find her, she will burn.

Only thing you have buy lots of sequels to find out what happens, too much reading same story.
I didn’t finish this book
Silly.
Not sure why of all the books I have read this year, this one one reached out and grabbed me. At a loss to explain…looking forward to continuing the journey.
This is a great book for those of you that enjoy fantasy books. This an easy to read book that keeps you reading to see what will happen next!
I enjoyed the storyline but wished it did not end so abruptly. I felt it left the story “hanging” somewhat. It was a creative concept but has more to tell.
A bit slow to start but once you get into it the pace picks up.
Drew me in immediately. I was living Frey’s strange and difficult, narrow reality from beginning to end. Many questions and surprise revelations. Great characters. I bought book 2 as soon as I finished Freya and kept reading. Fascinating, nuanced characters.
Starts off rather confused. Further into the book things start to become clearer and more exciting,
Beware! Cliffhanger
You know what they say “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Beautiful cover but a terrible book. The main character is weak. There is nothing special about her. I’m still trying to figure out why the other characters care about her. Anytime she questions anything or gets a little emotional about something they make her pass out then she spends the …
I didn’t feel this book was at all deserving of any of the bad reviews I read about it on Goodreads. I thought the characters were all interesting in their own ways and the story itself was very entertaining. The only negative I have with this book would be the reading of the journal, it did get a little annoying at times but all in all I am …
I found this book to be very entertaining. I bought it on a whim. I thought l needed something less intense then l had been reading and this was perfect. The characters are entertaining and the story moves along at a good pace keeping you surprised and or stunned at the unpredictatable turns it would take. It finishes well also, hope you …
it was very entertaining just wish it was the whole story not just a part of the story. hate the way they do books today.
Bought the whole series
Confusing mess with a very abrupt “ending”
It was great
Will be looking to read another.
Stopped reading it after two chapters. The main character must be the most clueless person ever. Never thought to ask what or why things were happening or why other characters were behaving as they were. Completely unconcerned and therefore unbelievable.
Didn’t particularly like the heroine and the plotting was weak
