Take a vacation, they said. Get away from Silicon Valley’s back-stabbing and power-grabbing. Recharge the innovative batteries. Unwind, then come back stronger than ever. Instead, I got lost at sea and fell in love with an anti-social lobsterman. There’s one small issue: Owen Bartlett doesn’t know who I am. Who I really am. ***I don’t like people. I avoid small talk and socializing, and I kick my … like people.
I avoid small talk and socializing, and I kick my companions out of bed before the sun rises.
No strings, no promises, no problems.
Until Cole McClish’s boat drifts into Talbott’s Cove, and I bend all my rules for the sexy sailor.
I don’t know Cole’s story or what he’s running from, but one thing is certain:
I’m not letting him run away from me.

Wow, this is so different from her normal romance novels, but yet it was still Kate Canterbary! I totally fell for both Owen & Cole! I love their bantering & being able to know both points of view. Amazing storyline & characters!!!! Another winner!
I consider myself a Walsh groupie. I. Love. Them. All. Jordan and April from Coastal Elite are not Walsh, but I count this as one of my favorites from this author. With that being said, Owen has to be the kindest, sweetest soul this author has ever written. M/M is fairly new to me, but love is love, and this is a beautifully written love story.
To start….that dedication grabbed my heart!
I love how Kate’s stories are all tangentially bound, it’s beautiful without being overbearing. You have to savor her words slowly, like fine wine or you will miss something. Everytime I read her words, I do so in small sips, so I can truly appreciate it.
This story of Owen and Cole is just wow. This story really stretched my comfort zones in just the right way. I felt like I was being treated with kid gloves when needed and pushed when warranted. It made me respect Kate all the more. This is the first book I have read in the M/M genre and I am glad I did it with Fresh Catch. It was a beautifully written story.
Owen, the lobster boat captain and Cole, the tech billionaire. I liked how they were both comfortable in their own skin but wary as well, it made it believable and made me love them all the more. I loved how they walked the tightrope of their sexuality in the beginning, ever so cautious but once revealed it was like a house on fire! You get real, you get honest and you get that their love is their own and they are not apologizing for it.
I loved the secondary characters and of course, I hope to see more of a certain few in the future, I will not spoil this by naming anyone but know when you read this book, you will find a few of your own!
Kate Canterbary has a die hard fan in me, she has yet to write something that I haven’t fallen in love with.
I want to sign off with this quote that did it for me…it is a total Kateism! (Can I coin that word as a new dictionary entry?!?) “…Stick-to-your-ribs, prickle-the-back-of-your-neck, hot-and-sweaty-all-over, headboard-banging desire…” Wowza, I needed a cold shower after reading that!
If you have never read this genre before or a die hard fan, do yourself a favor and read this! Kate Canterbary is the queen of the smart, sassy, smutty words!
Wow, just WOW! Kate continues writing her wonderful growly, bitey boys in Fresh Catch. The twist is we get two! This was my first M/M novel read, I’ve read some short stories in the M/M realm and enjoyed them. Fresh Catch just proves that love is love no matter what. I had read the short version of this previously, so was excited to get the whole story and get to know the characters even better. I loved Owen, but the more Kate detailed out this character, I loved him even more. My heart broke reading about his past relationships. I have always had a soft spot for strong, gruff men who have a soft side that most never get to see.
If you love Kate’s growly, bitey boys, I recommend this book. You will fall in love with Owen and Cole as they fall in love with each other!
