There are some things you just have to deal with.Like your hot as hell college booty call moving in next door with his adorable daughter. The only time we’ve ever gotten along is under the sheets. Old habits die hard because two minutes on my front porch is how long it takes us to bicker. Not that a little fact like that bothers my healthy, eighty-year-old grandmother and roommate who’s determined … roommate who’s determined to see me married before she bites the dust.
Unfortunately for me, she’s got her eye set on Mason Black.
She’s barking up the wrong tree. He’s not The One, no matter how much I swoon when I see him with his daughter. I have no intentions of rekindling anything with him–until a rubber spider in my mailbox starts off the mother of all neighborhood prank wars, just like the ones we had in college, and throws me right into his path.
One that leads right to his bedroom…

This is Emma Hart at her best!
Frenemies is a friends to lovers, second chance romance had me laughing hysterically throughout the entire book! Mason and Immy had a relationship back in college and there was never closure for either one of them. Now, Mason is Immy’s new neighbor and things are about to get crazy! With a meddling grandmother, a crazy book club, prank wars, and a tiny human, this story is full of fun, flirting and laughable situations. A must-read for any Emma Hart fan!
Imogen and Mason were lovers in college. Each never showing their true feelings. It worked until he left and didn’t call again. Now he’s moving in next store. Let the chaos ensues. Throw in a crazy grandmother, a cute four year old and a lovable pup.
“I didn’t care about Mason Black, the phone call that never happened, or the fact that he was my new neighbor.”
Imogen’s peaceful life is about to be shaken. It was not enough to have to deal with her meddling and crazy grandmother and the children she teaches in her store, the house next to hers has just gained a new resident. One she knows very well, but hasn’t seen in six years.
Mason has just moved in to be closer to his daughter. But nothing prepared him for the warm welcome from his new neighbor. Not even for the fact that she is his ex.
The two had a troubled relationship in college, filled with sex, but without a more serious involvement. And with his graduation and his departure, a promised phone call never came. Not even their chance to tell how they really felt.
Now after so many years, fate puts them face to face. And if they thought that living nearby would be easy, the tricks of a grandmother willing to marry her granddaughter will put more fire into this tumultuous relationship.
A sweet little girl, a cute dog, sweets and treats and lots of pranks filled with water balloons, spiders and toothpaste. The coexistence in this neighborhood will be extreme. But in the midst of so many fights, old feelings appear, to complicate or solve this story. And maybe now, they can make amends.
A book about second chances, sweet, funny and light.
Emma has absolutely done it again with Frenemies! I really needed a book to make me smile (and occasionally snort with laughter) and the antics of Imogen, her grandmother Jen, and Mason really did the trick! And can we appreciate Mason’s daughter Maya for a second? Too cute for words!
A new guy moves in next door to Imogen and her grandmother who ends up being someone she knew and not so low key loved in college. Turns out, there’s a lot of history, and a series of pranks, between them, even as they continue to spend time with one another, at times against their will. From dogs to cheesecake and raunchy book clubs with Jen’s octogenarian friends (and I really hope I am like that with my friends in the future; they’re true friendship goals) I adored Frenemies and honestly can say that you will too! So, what are you waiting for?!
This book was an absolute blast to read!! I have not laughed out loud while reading in a long time and this book had me laughing constantly.
Grandma Jen and her friends said and did the wildest things that truly had me wishing that I had one of them in my life.
Immy was in for the shock of her life when the new neighbor moved in. How is she going to react to Mason Black, now that he has moved to her town?
Mason has taken a relocation to be closer to his daughter, Maya. However, what will he do when he moves in next door to the one that he let get away?
The antics between these to are funny as h***. When the revenge battle between these two starts the one upping each other is so much fun to see who will actually win. Who really started it and what happens when it’s not really who you would think.
I can’t wait to read more of Emma’s books.
4 Stars
Title: Frenemies
Author: Emma Hart
Series: Stand-alone
Emma Hart has done it again! I fell in love with her words and her witty characters. From the beginning to the very end, I laughed and swooned and couldn‘t put it down. Immy and Mason were the perfect match and it sure was one sweet and easy ride.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved the banter between Mason and Immy. (Grandma Jenn too!) It seriously was laugh out loud funny-come on, prank wars lol! But there were also sweet moments that left the biggest smile on my face. There was no significant drama and the entire story just had a feel good type of vibe. Highly recommend reading this book!
Frenemies was another hilarious book from Emma Hart. She gives us some of the quirkiest characters. Imogen is a feisty thing but nothing, I mean NOTHING compared to her grandmother. Then we have lil Maya who’s just an adorable spitfire that comes with the tempting new neighbor. Mason may be new to the neighborhood but he’s definitely been around Immy’s block a few times. Immy and Mason might have been frequent booty callers back in college the sexual tension between them is thick.
I just ate up this delicious story! I mean, how can you go wrong with characters with huge personalities. We’ve got this nosy and totally in-your-face hilarious gran, an adorably sweet and brutally honest 4 year old, and two sexually frustrated characters fighting against that magnetic pull. Just add Emma Hart as their puppet master and I just knew I was in for a major delight! Keep em coming!!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
4 stars
Frenemies was a fun read. It was lighthearted and hilarious. Imogen (or Immi to most) is sassy. She has to be. She lives with her opinionated and loud grandmother. So she’s not all that curious about the new neighbor moving in. Her gran is giving her a play-by-play of the new neighbors every move. She wasn’t interested until she saw who it was. Now she’s just curious. You see, Immi and Mason we’re friends with benefits in college. Until the day Mason graduated and she never heard from him again. She’s not mad really per se. Don’t get me wrong, she was …but life goes on. And now Mason has a kid. See…they’ve both moved on, right?
I think Gran was my favorite character. Between her and her “book club” friends, there could be an entire story dedicated to her. These kinds of books give me life. I love being able to dive in and not have much heavy topics to deal with. I want to laugh and smile while just feeling joy throughout. Frenemies gave me that and more. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Imogen Anderson is loving life. Sure, she may be in a bit of a dry spell and her 80 year old grandmother lives with her, but she’s happy running the art school and teaching a ceramics class for children. But, everything changes when a blast from the past moves in next door. There’s nothing like having to deal with your crazy hot and annoying booty call from college on a daily basis for the rest of your life.
Emma Hart has done it again! Frenemies is full of quirky characters, witty banter, hilarious and awkward situations and a crazy group of out of control octogenarians!
Mason is the perfect guy! He is hot and sexy, has a great sense of humor, and is a wonderful father to a super cute little girl. He knows he didn’t end things the way he should have with Immy, but life has given him a random second chance that he doesn’t plan on missing out on.
Immy is fun and quirky and oh so confused about her feelings when it comes to Mason. She is hurt and wants to stay mad, but it’s awful hard when her grandma is doing everything in her power to push them together when in her heart she really doesn’t want to stay away anyway.
And, Grandma Jen is simply AMAZING!!! For real, Emma Hart writes the absolute best grandparent characters. I want to be Grandma Jen when I am 80 and be a member of the old lady book club described in this book!
Frenemies was a fabulous read. While I loved the humor in this book so much, it also felt real and emotional. 5 Stars!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I loved second chance romance. They lift up my spirit and this one was no different. I’m not gonna lie and tell you I loved everything about it because there were a few (huge) eye-rolls but I was well entertained with Mason and Immy and dear ol Grandma. That lady was trouble with a capital T – I loved here the most.
This book was just what the doctor prescribed – I had a shitty week and I really needed all the laughs, tears and then some more laughs. I’m excited to see what Emma has in store for us next.
It’d been six years since Imogen Anderson has seen the impossibly handsome Mason Black and he’d only gotten hotter since then. Soon after Mason moves in next door, Immy finds a fake spider in her mailbox and declares a prank war. What Immy doesn’t know is that her scheming grandmother Jennifer, who’s plotting to get Immy married before her next birthday, is responsible for the spider. Will grandma Jen get her fondest wish?
Frenemies is a funny and drama-filled story full of lovable characters that will have you laughing out loud. I can’t wait to read Hannah’s story in Number Neighbors.
A funny, witty, light read from Emma, an enemies to lovers read, a single dad, neighbours, second chance romance full of banter, pranks, snark and a Granny book club into BDSM!
Immy and Mason knew each other from college, they’d had a relationship, both of them denying their strong feelings for each other, that ended with them not speaking and not really getting closure. Mason is a lawyer and ends up moving in next door to Immy to be closer to his 3 yr old daughter. Their bickering and pranks pick up where college left off!! Hot chemistry and a relationship that will have you laughing and shaking your head at the antics they get up to!!
A great set of secondary characters with Granny and her friends, their lack of filters, nosy and not missing a thing and their love of BDSM and erotica will have you tittering away.
A fun and entertaining Rom-Com.
Emma Hart delivers the perfect Rom Com with her newest release, Frenemies.
Imogene and Maseon were college lovers although neither of them were willing to admit their feelings for each other. When Mason graduates and doesn’t call Imogene her heart is broken.
10 years later Mason and his adorable little girl happen to move in next door. When Imogene’s hilarious outspoken grandmother decides they need a push together, she incites a prank war that kept me laughing and unable to put my kindle down.
I absolutely loved this one. If you are a Rom Com fan then this one is definitely for you!
Oh my gosh! I love laugh out loud books, throw in the sizzling chemistry and yep, count me in! Everytime with this author! Let’s not forget Immy’s grandma that will have you rolling and Mayson’s daughter that you just want to hug!
Loved the back and forth between these two, waiting to see what was going to happen when it came to them. Were they going to be able to make something work this time or is it going to be like in college? Read it and find out!
Emma’s books are always hilarious and this one was no different.
Imogen and Mason were a thing in college, but after he left he never called..now, 6 years later, Mason is her new neighbor..and so the war starts lol!
I adore Jen, Imogen’s grandmother, and her friends and members of the best book club ever.
I loved all the characters, and that is something that usually also happens in Emma’s books. They are all hilarious, loving and sarcastic as heck!
Very funny and sweet read!
I love second chance romances! I will devour these books and this one was no different. It was sweet and fun and made me smile. I loved every minute of reading it and could not put it down. I loved the banter between the characters that had me laughing out loud. I love the heart that you can feel throughout the story and I swooned so much. I can’t wait to see what Emma will bring us next.
Hart’s books always leave me snorting out loud. I love Frenemies with its quirky characters and diabolical pranks. Grandma Jen is a zero-filter, raunchy, and intrusive grandmother that anyone would love to have in their family. Immy cracks me up with her comical, clumsy reactions and her determined nature of revenge. Mason is the perfect match for Immy. Not only does he find her quirks adorable, but he manages her grandmother with a finesse of a true gentleman. He is a drool-worthy man with a heart of gold that will do anything for his daughter. Between the ahh moments and laughing so hard I peed my pants Frenemies makes a great light-hearted read that will leave you falling in love with the whole town.
I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.
Frenemies is the latest from Rom-Com Queen Emma Hart and, as usual, she will keep you laughing from beginning to end.
Imogen and Mason’s story has a second chance/enemies to lovers’ vibe, filled with flirtatious banter, prank wars and plenty of laughs. I adored Mason, and loved how Immy’s adamant declarations of hatred slowly thawed. Maya was such a sweet and fun addition and made me love Mason even more!
Then there was Grandma Jen & the Pensioners. Emma Hart has a true talent for writing inappropriate elderly relatives, and I’m not giving up hope that one of these days we get a book solely based on them! Between spying on neighbors, getting drunk and reading BDSM & trying to marry off her granddaughter, Jen is truly my hero.
If you’re looking for a fun, laugh out loud story that’s low on drama and high on happiness, look no further!
Frenemies by Emma Hart is her latest book and it is a funny rom-com, second chances, enemies to lovers kinda story that will have you laughing out loud, wishing Mason were YOUR new neighbor, and swooning over the absolute sweetness of this leading man and his snarky artsy old flame. And of course, what would an Emma Hart story be without a precious child, some crazy old folks, and a similarly quirky bestie, oh, and some serious prank wars? Break out the Jack Daniels – Immy is about to fall in lurve (again). Enjoy!
Emma hart has yet again smashed this book, i could never say a bad word about any of the books she has written. From the blurb i was like yup i wanna read this and boy was i not disappointed.
Imogen is the fun loving artist who runs a store with her interfering, eccentric grandma. And Mason is a successful lawyer with a three year old daughter.
Neither of the have a love life but they used to yano ….. bump uglies,do the vertical tango, Aggressive cuddling or Bedroom rodeo (have sex). When Mason moved in next door to immy, someone (EYES) starts a prank war between the two. I wont lie i snort laughed with the clown part (LAUGH). The banter in this book was too damn much. My favourite person in this book is hands down Immys grandma LAUGH she is a woman after my own heart, I’m trying to see if any of my friends want to do a drinking book club, because they shit seems like fun LAUGH ( tbh none of my friends are friends with each other if that makes sense, like I’m the only thing they have in common LAUGH) but yeah back to what in saying
it was a slow burn kind of romance, they didn’t jump straight back to banging, which was great because we got to see them stay they enemies the become friends then more..
i honestly loved this book, i was actually so upset when i finished this book, i did not want it to end. Plus with all the side characters, Maya , Grandma, Hannah, and even the ladies at the book club.
Honestly guys this books is AMAZING ( its not even a surprise)
AND ITS LIVE SO BUY IT…. please and thank you 😀
