Zane doesn’t do relationships and Connor is definitely the kind of guy who does… Criminal defense attorney Zane Devereaux is on the verge of having everything he’s worked his entire life for. He’s on track to become his firm’s youngest managing partner and he has enough money in the bank to ensure he’ll never have to be at the mercy of anyone ever again. He’s left his past exactly where it … past exactly where it belongs and refuses to look back. And he sure as hell isn’t going to risk a repeat of his former mistakes by letting someone as sweet, sexy and endearingly vulnerable as Connor Talbot into his life. His bed maybe, but not his life.
Connor Talbot has no regrets about serving his country, even if it did cost him more then he’d imagined. Two years after an IED took his leg and left him with permanent brain damage, Connor is still struggling to put his life back together, but he’s managed to find a makeshift family in Seattle that helps ease the pain of losing his own at a young age. Unfortunately, a string of bad relationships and an abusive ex have taken their toll on Connor and he’s given up on finding the lifelong partner he’d always envisioned he’d have. But a chance encounter with a man he has absolutely nothing in common with except for an intense, white-hot chemistry has him thinking that maybe a no strings, physical relationship is exactly what’s called for.
What begins as two men meeting each other’s needs between the sheets turns into something neither one was prepared for but the wounds of the past run deep and both men will have to decide if a future together will cost them too much or if what they could have together is worth fighting for.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Zane and Connor were perfect together even though it took them awhile to realise it. Man, was it heartbreaking what both Zane and Connor have been through. Zane’s Mum is a complete and utter b*tch for abandoning him at 6 years old and then had a whole another family and didn’t even accept Zane into her new family after finding out that if she didn’t step, he’d be heading into Foster Care she declined. I loved seeing Connor slowly breaking down Zane’s walls each time they meet. All of Connor’s ex’s are absolute selfish a*seholes with the way they all treated him. Man, was it completely f*cked up that Zane’s ex-boyfriend Blake’s father sent a graphic crime scene photo of Blake after he’d k*lled himself with a razor blade in the bathtub in a card with a some white roses each month on the date that he’d died all because he blames Zane for for not doing anything to stop it. I suppose grief is a powerful thing. I loved getting the extra epilogues as it was cool seeing how the Barretti family has grown but I was sad to finish this series but I’m looking forward to hopefully getting some snippets of these characters in the Protectors Series. I’m heading back to Dare next so I’m looking forward to getting snippets of Finn, Roy’s, Callan, Jax and Dane in the rest of the Finding Series. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Without a doubt, one of my favourite reads ever. Connor and Zane broke my heart and put it back together. I’m sure most fans in the genre will have read it, and if not, what are you waiting for? A fantastic hot and heartfelt story written so damn beautifully by Sloane Kennedy. This is why I read.
Final book in the Barrett family. What are we going to read now. Loved this series.

Freeing Zane (Barretti Security Series, Book 4)
Conner works for Mags as a barman, but suffers from brain blackouts caused by an IED when he was in the army. He also lost his leg and wears a prosthetic. We meet Conner after he is assaulted by his boyfriend whilst having a blackout.
Zane a high powered defence layer working for the elite who can pay to make issues dissappear. Zane will not sate anyone, he has sex and only sex, no emotions and no kissing.
Zane and Conner meet at Zanes office and everything seems to go wrong for Zane from thereon.
All I will say is there is a lot of action, shooting, killings and romance, hot sex, children and a HEA.
This whole series is excellent but you could read this as a stand alone. However, at the end is an epilogue for the series.
Another awesome MM romance. I can’t get enough of these series. I enjoy having a all the characters interconnected and be part of the story.
So freaking HOT too!
The last chapter of Barretti Security series is over! But what a way to go! Two men who never thought they’d find love and happiness, two men who needed someone to believe in them, two men who found understanding and acceptance, two perfectly imperfect men who tell their story.
Connor is such a sweetheart. I love his caring nature and his resilience. He is the man who takes what life dealt him and makes the best of it. He surrounds himself with people who will be there for him – Jagger and his men, Maggs and her wife. But one thing that is missing is someone to come home to. Zane is a man on a mission – never be dependent, never need anyone, don’t let anyone close. When Zane and Connor meet both men feel the connection but deny it for different reasons. It takes time, hurtful words, a lot of pain, patience and a whole lot of love to make these two men see that they are perfect for each other.
Life keeps throwing curve balls, but Zane and Connor are finally ready to live and to be happy. They protect and cherish their family that suddenly grows bigger by two. Everything works out just as it should, and the ending is glorious. The families are thriving, Barretti men are happy and life could not get any better than this. I highly recommend! It made my heart happy!
My god the epilogue in this book was everything! It was so amazing to read about all the other couples we love and learn about all their children and happily ever afters.
I was so excited to read this book. I just knew Zane and Conner were gonna take us on a roller coaster, up and down we went. I loved that this book didn’t have a dramatic fight where the men separated then came back to each other. It was refreshing. It was also hot as hell! Those two couldn’t keep their hands to themselves and I loved every minute of it!
