Two mismatched men. One unlikely friendship.Jordan Kingsley is Hollydale’s most hated alpha. The man is seen as nothing more than a pretentious twit who doesn’t care about anyone but himself. So then, why does he find himself diving into a pond to save a life?Trevor Johnson is the most accident-prone omega around. Kicked out by his father after finding himself pregnant, he wanders around town … pregnant, he wanders around town trying to figure out what to do. A fall into the duck pond at Plumtree park is nearly his undoing until Jordan rescues him.
Citing the old proverb that he’s responsible for the life he saved, Jordan shocks himself by befriending Trevor and offering him a place to stay. While other people have found the omega’s klutzy tendencies to be annoying, Jordan can’t help but be charmed.
Despite an age gap and the unplanned baby that’s on the way with no sire in sight, these unlikely friends just might find that they’re a perfect match.
Return to the world of Hollydale with a quirky romance filled with all the fluffy feels that you’d expect from a Hollydale novella. This is the thirteenth book of The Hollydale Omegas series but is absolutely able to be read as a standalone. This is a 35k novella and definitely contains an HEA. 18+ readers only please! And yes, this book contains M/PREG, adults adulting in sexy grown-up ways, and way more than an occasional use of potty mouth language.

I love how this unlikely pair is brought together by yet another strange visitor to Hollydale. Trevor gets it all right without even knowing he should. And a happier more confident Jordon was great to see.
There narration of the Audible version was well done and fun to listen to.
Freedom Spiced Omega is the thirteenth book of The Hollydale Omegas series written by Susi Hawke and narrated by Drew Bacca. It continues with the unique adventures each omega and alpha pairing of Hollydale have when it comes to finding love and starting families. And, though the books of this series are quick reads full of fluff goodness, I find them very enjoyable whenever I need something a little lighter.
In this book, we experience the love story of Jordan Kingsley and Trevor Johnson. Jordan is an alpha who’s hated by a lot of people in Hollydale for being a pretentious ass. He’s done things in the past that don’t endear him to many people. That makes his life a little lonely and a lot difficult when it comes to running his food cart in the park. Trevor, on the other hand, is a sweet omega that’s down on his luck after his father kicks him out for being pregnant. He’s also incredibly clumsy which leads to Jordan saving Trevor’s life when the omega falls into the pond.
Their story is one that’s both short and sweet. Without knowing it, the two of them have been attracted to each other for some time. Their lusting after one another is actually how Trevor wound up pregnant. So, after Trevor is rescued, Jordan stands beside him in his time of need. Claiming the omega and the baby he’s carrying as his own, he takes on the alpha roll in Trevor’s life. And, what starts as friendship soon turns into so much more.
Freedom Spiced Omega was a charming little story filled with affection, friendship, love, and a darling, though obvious, surprise for Trevor and Jordan. Susi Hawke did a wonderful job of creating another easy read for those of us that just need a dose of sweet, sappy, and fluffy from time to time. Drew Bacca is a wonderful narrator, one of my favorites when it comes to the mpreg trope, who voices the characters and the story beautifully.
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoyed the previous Hollydale books. It followed along the same lines as the rest of the series when it comes to being a lighthearted read. If you want something with a serious, deep plot you won’t find it here. This series is all about feel-good, charming storytelling that will leave your heart feeling light and happy. If that sounds like something you’d be into, definitely give this book, and the rest of the series, a read/listen.
Audiobook review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5
I really liked this one!
This is only the second book I’ve read in this series but now I want to go and read/listen to more of them. I suspect that at least one of the MCs in this one, Jordan, has appeared in other books because he was apparently an alpha that most people hate. But even though I haven’t read any of the other books that he may have appeared in it didn’t matter as Freedom Spiced Omega stands alone just fine.
Once again, Drew Bacca gave an outstanding performance with the various voices he used for each character. He’s becoming one of my favorite audiobook performers.
The blurb for the book is super accurate so I’m just going to say that this book kept me entertained throughout. I loved the slightly woo-woo vibe that one of the supporting characters gave off and wasn’t’ too surprised when all was revealed. That I wasn’t too surprised didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the story at all. So much of this book was just really sweet but had a nice side of sexy.
I loved how Jordan cared for Trevor and wouldn’t let him run his-self down just because he’s a little accident prone. The stories in this series are a perfect length for reading or listening to in one evening and I love that I can start one and almost be certain to finish it in one session as long as real life doesn’t interrupt me.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
Oh I loved it this so very much! It was sweet and fun and I really liked the pairing! I listened the audiobook and it was amazing!
Trevor seems to be an accident waiting to happen at the beginning of the book but he’s also sweet, thoughtful, and kind. Jordan comes off as pompous and self-absorbed. The more I got to know these guys the more those characteristics faded. Jordan is kind, solicitous, and giving. He sees Trevor’s bumbling as endearing. Trevor sees the wonderful man underneath Jordan’s prickly demeanor. I loved the ‘supernatural’ help they got.
Highly recommended author and series
Audiobook: The narrator had some OTT voices and inflections, but I personally felt they added to the story.
