This isn’t high school. This is a war zone.
It should be just another year for me at Spring Hill High. It’s not. It’s the first of many years…without my brother.Fighting back memories of Brady should be the most difficult thing I have to face while walking the halls of SHH. Instead, those sad reminders become the least of my worries. My brother’s best friends make sure of that. They won’t let me … best friends make sure of that.
They won’t let me heal in peace. In fact, the three star football players—the ones my brother knew all his life—are determined to make me do it their way, or live through hell in the process.
What they don’t understand is, I lived through my brother’s death…that means I can live through anything.
Bring it, hotshots. I’m waiting.
*Though you may be used to seeing reverse harem titles from me, FREE FALL has one alpha hero and one heroine. If you’re waiting for my next RH title, ROCK ON releases in September!

Moore has done it again!! This one truly fantastic start to a new series and I for one was very sad to see it end especially with that doozy of cliff hanger. We get an emotionally unbalanced female MC that is dealing with the aftermath of the death of her brother. She is essentially falling apart and her group of friends (who also were her brother BFF’s) refuse to allow that. They barge in making her deal whether she likes it or not but so much goes on it gets interesting fast. Just as it starts to look like she may be getting better some more stuff happens that you will never see coming that lead to that doozy ending. An emotionally wrenching read you will be unable to put down. Total must read for fans of YA romance. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
What do you do when you lose someone close to you? Do you shut down? Do you rage against the world? Do you push yourself to do better? When Briar looses her brother unexpectedly, she does a little of all of the above. She runs away from home both physically and mentally until her brother’s three friends show up and make her face loss. This leads to some interesting situations and unexpected relationships. While this book is not the usual RH book that readers have come to expect from this author, it still is an amazing book. The emotions and rawness of Briar’s emotions come across the pages and the genuine feelings and love that develops between her and Reid is steamy and amazing at the same time. I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the second installment.
My heart is crying for poor Briar. I want to grab her and give her the biggest hug then go kick some a$$. I’m seeing red for her right now and I can’t wait to read Catch Me to see what happens.
After a sudden tragedy and the sudden loss of her Brother, Briar is really struggling, not only with her grief but also with coming to terms of life without him. She can’t face their friends, she’s struggling with coping in school, will life ever again have meaning?
This is both a highly emotional story, yet also an uplifting.
Lex, Reid and Cade, her brother’s team mates rally around, they also have lost their friend and Briar, they want her back !!
Omg these guys, the lengths they will go to to get Briar through. They are there for her all the way !!!
This was a painful journey, and my heart was in bits, for all this group. It was sensitively written that made it hard not to connect with the characters. When emotions and feelings start to grow between Briar and Reid, you just knew and felt this couples connection was deep and binding. Things are never as they seem though, Reid has a ex who is one of the most evil and twisted girls I have come across, she’s beyond a bully. Definitely a true villian!! my emotions were pulled in all directions, lovely dovey one minute to wanting to destroy the witch Sasha !!!
A Totally enthralling read, with love, friendship, Loyalty, and suspense all thrown in to keep you on your toes !!!
A new author to me and one i will definitely be reading more off !!!!!
Holy Moley!
This books totally exceeded my expectations, I absolutely fell in love with Briar and the guys.
Utterly real, raw and heart breaking, this story will take you on one emotional journey and break your heart and then help heal it. Briar’s grief just bleeds off the page, you feel her pain, heartbreak, anger and sadness and the smallest moments of happiness/hope.
Reid, Lex and Cade are her brothers best friends and they will no longer watch Briar drown in her grief they will do whatever it takes to bring her back to the living and on the path to help her heel.
This a MF story (I wouldn’t say a love triangle because Briar is only interested in 1 of the guys even tho two want her) and damn it is freaking brilliant, I felt the chemistry with Briar and who she ends up with right from the start and I love who it is. He isn’t one to share and has some really good J/P moments.
“I don’t share, Briar Page. You got that?”
“Because I’m not letting you go Briar Page. You’re mine”
I can’t wait to read Catch Me next and see how it all ends.
edit to add….
I reread this book and listened to the audio and it was amazing, just one of my favourite books
I did not see that cliffhanger coming! Wow! I was feeling so safe. The joke is on me. Damn! I love how raw the grief is, especially mixed with the teenage vulnerability. The plot is so authentic!
I have no words for this book. The emotional roller coaster it brought out in me as the main characters all learned to live without someone they all loved.
These characters and the love they have for each other makes me a little sad it was not a different story only because I absolutely love all three guys. However, it was not meant to be and I absolutely love the two together.
I cannot wait to dive into book two as I seriously need to know what happens next!
Free Fall will break you, make you cry, and leave you begging for more. I finished this book within a few hours because I just could not put it down! I don’t think my heart can take much more to be honest. Briar has been through so much and her emotions, well they became my emotions. I pretty much was crying off and on throughout Free Fall because she has such unbelievably raw heart wrenching emotions that turn you into a blubbering mess.
I did believe going into Free Fall that it was a reverse harem book, and although that is not the case I still loved every minute of it! Personally as sad as I was when I first realized that it wasn’t RH by the end of the book I could tell Briar’s friendship with Cade and Lex was better for her than a romantic relationship with them would have been. Plus Reid is hot enough to be a harem all on his own! This was my first E.M. Moore book and I definitely will be coming back for more!
5 stars for Free Fall by E.M. Moore. This is book 1 in the Spring Hill Blues duet. This book is different from other E.M. Moore books as it isn’t a reverse harem. This book is filled with sexy times, an alpha male, drama, and so much heartbreak. Briar recently lost her brother Brady. She is trying to cope but she somehow lost herself when she lost him. Reid, Lex and Cade where Brady’s best friends and they will not let Briar continue on the downward spiral. They are there to push her, help her and make her find herself again. Briar doesn’t see it that way and wants nothing to do with them. “What he doesn’t realize is that I’d already declared war on them.” While some may say this is a bully romance, I don’t really see it that way. They are trying to help her in the only way they know how. This book does end in a cliffy so be warned, it is a doozie. I am starting book 2 now.
This is actually a pretty heavy emotional read, especially for anyone who gas lost a loved one and is trying to move on. I did tear up more then once. It has some depth to it.
It’s a high school bully read, so there are some immature moments and decisions (A few scenes really didn’t fit with the feeling of the story for me hence the star reduction.) I loved the reverse aspect of the story, meaning it wasn’t the boys who bullied her it was the mean girl and some of her own poor choices. All three guys are really great but Reid really stood out. He is that over the top alpha but with a caring sweet side.
There is a very abrupt cliffhanger so beware, I actually didn’t know this going in so it hit me like a brick wall, LOL. I will be reading the second book, I need to know what happens (already marked on my calendar). Oh and this is not an RH, so that was a refreshing change.
Overall, I good solid story with interesting characters, realistic heartbreak, and a girl trying to find her spirit after a devastating loss.
OMG
The story of a girl named Briar who has recently lost her brother
And her brother’s three best friends Reid, Cade, Lex trying to do their best to bring her out of grief,
though they themselves are also in grief.
Very emotional, well -written, like the boys they so sweet and care
This is not RH story though I meanwhile thought it was.
Story is told Brair point of views.
And of course, the book ends shockingly and twist
Just preordered second book I want to know what will happen next
Read on and you won’t regret it !!!
Thank you!
Love isn’t the right word for this book. Surprising, satisfying, and so good I can’t wait to read the next installment. Thos who know E.M. Moore’s steamy RH Bully romances are in for a treat. While this isn’t a RH story, it’s relationships are amazing and steamy enough to make up for it.
Briar is going through the loss of her brother in this book, which weaves in complex emotions into the entire story. She has changed immensely in the past few months that requires an intervention and the resulting relationship with her brother’s best friends weaves between the boys in different ways that are both surprising and comforting. I really REALLY wanted to hate Reid- but I ended up loving him. His way of pulling Briar out of her downward spiral made me change my mind. The next Spring Hills Blues book is highly anticipated from this reader.
Another amazing book by E.M!! I love that it isn’t your typical bully romance,There is grief, sadness, happiness, humor, steam, I cannot wait for the next book to come out!! Truly recommend this book and author!!
Free Fall was a different take on a bully romance and I LOVED it! Everyone grieves differently but sometimes tough love is what is needed and that’s what Brady’s friends dish out. Keep in mind that this is NOT a reverse harem book which the author is known for writing. All of the guys are great so it is easy to fall in love with them all but don’t get too attached, Briar’s man isn’t about to share 😉 Oh and be ready for ALL of the feels! Briar’s story is heartbreaking but amazing to see her worth through it. Even those who don’t typically ready bully romances should enjoy this one 🙂
Prepare for emotions as you read this book. EM Moore has an amazing way of making you feel the characters emotions through her writing and this book does it again! Briar is the mc and she is struggling after losing her brother and starting the new school year without him. This is a really good start to a new series.
Briar’s life is turned completely on its axis, when her brother and best friend is involved in a tragic accident. Trying to forget everything, she disappears into herself, runs away and changes her appearance. Her brothers friends take it upon themselves to bring her back, to be the Briar that was before. But does she even exist anymore? She feels utterly alone, but sometimes the things you need are directly in front of you.
E.M Moore has produced another fantastic novel- this time M/F not RH. I loved the dynamics of the group and the relationships built the raw emotions that poured from the pages had me tearing up too. The characters were well introduced and I felt close to all of them – a great example of Moore’s talent which is ever apparent throughout the book. Ended on a cliffhanger but it wasn’t from a great height…absolutely cant wait until the next!
What happens when the one person you could count on is gone? Just like that, snap. How are you supposed to go on living in a world that suddenly is like the Twilight Zone? How do you move forward? How is everyone else living life without him?
Briar Page may not know the answers to any of these questions, but she sure as hell has to find out. With the sudden death of her older brother, Brady, she is thrown into a world that no longer makes sense. She has to move forward, but she CANNOT fathom a world where he no longer lives. Everything hurts, and no one seems to understand except Ezra.
Cade, Lex, and Reid were her brother’s best friends who step up no that he longer is around. They push, and Briar pushes back harder. Along with Juliet, her brother’s girlfriend, she learns that while life will no longer be the same she does have to move forward. This group of guys and Jules help Briar see just how much they care about her. Briar gets to see that not everyone is exactly who they portray and gets to know people at school as more then just Brady’s sister. This doesn’t always go good for her now that her number 1 is no longer around to support and protect her.
The chemistry that E.M. Moore writes between the characters is phenomenal. E.M. writes about a very tough subject, but does it in a way that is real and raw. There were definitely times that I felt what Briar felt, and wanted to go through the book and help h er out. There are only a handful of authors that I can truly get lost into their books, and E.M. Moore has become one of them for me recently. I can only sit on the edge of my seat as I wait for book two to see what happens with the group from Spring Hill!
This book is amazing and had my emotions all over the place. Briar losing her brother and dealing with her greif was so real and raw. I can’t imagine how she would feel but what she went through and how she acted seemed so relatable. I will say the Reid and the boys made me mad for a lot of the book but I understood they just wanted to old Briar back…but I just felt so bad for her and I wanted to yell at my kindle!!! Now lets talk about the ending….ughhh I so saw that coming but I am nervous about what is going to happen in the next book. This is definetly a great read with a cliffhanger.
I received an ARC for an honest review. I was BEYOND excited to make it onto EM’s ARC team I loved her ballers series and this one did not disappoint. Briar is such an amazing character and I connected with her from page 1. Free Fall is an emotional roller coaster that will leave your heart shredded. And the boys? I will be impatiently waiting for book two.
Free fall is the first book in this new series by E.M. Moore and it’s a bit different since your probably use to reading RH books by this author. But she did a fantastic job with this story and I personally can’t wait until the next book. It takes us on a journy with the main character Briar as she deals with the grief of losing her brother who was a football star at their high school along with his 3 best friends. Briar runs away in the beginning of the story to try and meet up with an online guy friend she she’s been talking to but it never works out and she’s brought back home. Reid, Lex, and Cade are also on the football team and are left trying to get Briar back to her old self but in the process things change and Briar and Lex have a way about dealing with the grief all on there own but quickly learn that it’s definitely the wrong way to deal with it and Lex trys to put an end to it. Then there’s Ried’s mean girl girlfriend who trys to step all over Briar but ends up losing her boyfriend in the process to Briar. The two of them hit it off until another tragedy happens and Briar gets freaked out and runs away again. In the end we’re left with a cliffhanger that you didn’t see coming but also make you want to read the next book even more. Overall this book was fantastic and you won’t be disappointed. E.M. Moore is truly an amazing author and never fails to write an awesome story that keeps us fans running back for more. I received this book for an honest review and honestly what are you waiting for get to reading you will love it!!
