The doctor gave him the news he didn’t want and Frank’s discovered the worst kept secret in Liverpool; that his wife’s fitness instructor is providing her services that extend beyond the gym.
With time a dwindling commodity, Frank decides it’s time to do something he wants to do. With a little encouragement from his oldest friend, Stan, the first destination for his ‘bucket-list’ is the Isle of Man TT Races.

Great story. I’ve always wanted to go to the Isle of man TT races. Now I REALLY want to go!
I know a few people like this and there is humor and sadness and it does help having a Bucket List and try things to keep going.
Rather disappointing but it was okay. I will not be buying any more in the series although the subject matter interests me. Seems too contrived, illogical and made up to suit a high school formula for writing. Just not very believable and kind of a made up on the fly goofy ramble.
Imagine a terminal diagnosis, the end of a marriage, and a child disowning a parent as the kickoff to a comic series. This book not only imagines that, but carries it off very nicely. It is a very funny read that pulls one into feeling deeply for the insane characters. If you are put off by colorful language or inappropriate behavior, you may find the author’s books difficult to read. Fortunately those don’t bother me at all. So far I’ve enjoyed two of Mr. Williams excellent reads without investing a penny. Maybe I’ll be forced into buying some! I am now sure they will be worth it.
Low-brow amusement. Frank and Stan (Frank ‘n Stan, Frankenstein) had lowly origins, but climbed to great financial success running a taxi service. Frank finds out he has a terminal illness and gets his BFF Stan to join him in fulfilling a bucket list. One of the items is to return to the Isle of Mann where they vacationed as kids. They arrive there when the TT Races are taking place. I looked it up. These motorcycle races are real and apparently hugely popular and extremely dangerous. They include a side-car competition, which is nothing like the sidecars I’ve ever seen. The author must love the event because he waxed rhapsodic in great detail. I watched a couple YouTube videos of it and thought it looked pretty stupid, but then I am neither a motorcycle nor a racing fan. The humor was along the lines of ““Frank, you ever notice bowel movement sounds like a symphony?” he continued dreamily. “Bowel Movement in A Minor. What do you reckon? Heavy on the horn section, I expect.” I think the pair continues to go back to the TT Races in future books of the series, so I won’t be reading them.
Adorei esse livro. Quero ler mais desse autor. Sempre!!
I enjoyed this book, it’s a light hearted read. The motorcycle racing background of the story interested me as I am a long time rider, former racer. The technical aspects of the racing was accurate and realistic, but you don’t need to be a motorcyclist to enjoy this book, as that’s not really focus of this book.
Fun light reading
This was a fun read with interesting people who were characters. A very nice escape. I’ll look at the future books to see where they go.
Enjoy the adventure of two friends who decided to make some changes in their ordinary lives.
Interesting story, but not all that funny- a few chuckles now and then, but no belly laughs. Author did develop some interesting characters in the story.
