There is no better author than Francine Rivers. I have read all her books. She writes on such topics that could be hard to read. She brings a christian perspective. On hard topics she leaves some things to the imagination because words aren’t needed. So many times I’ve put a book down because nothing ruins a book that could have been great by bringing too much unnessary descriptions into it. She’s wonderful. I definitely recommend anything she’s written.
The Last Sin Eater is one of the best Francine River’s books. The setting in 1850’s Appalachia mountains portrays a way of life shocking and foreign to most of us. Young Cadi is a seeker who instinctively knows there must be a better way to obtain forgiveness of sins and the man called the sin eater who assumed the “sin eater” designation” in his community longs to find an answer to the same question while at the same time accepting the “sin eater” role for his community. There is an evil that must be removed from the community before Cadi can find peace and her own forgiveness for her perceived sins. The “Sin Eater” must find his own place and peace among the community upheaval as well.
Francine Rivers has long been one of my all-time favorite authors. She makes the characters come to life and gives the reader a fresh perspective on eternal truths.
I always enjoy Francine Rivers and these books did not fail to please. I was sad to finish because I liked the characters.
Francine Rivers is one of my favorite authors. I have read everything she has published and would highly recommend all. She has a way of presenting God’s word without sounding preachy. Can’t wait till she published something new.
