We had it all.A beautiful marriage, a nice house and a baby on the way. What could go wrong?Everything…that’s what went wrong.I lost her.I don’t know how to go on. I’m stuck in a world of grief with only my little girl to save me.I vowed to never love again. No one would ever take her place but what happens when someone breaks down your defences and repairs your heart one small crack at a time?
The first thing I thought when I started reading was did I miss something, what happened and then I was done for. I didn’t stop, I didn’t pause, I barely breathed as I became consumed by this book, no not by the book but by the characters. I have this love/hate thing going on with this author because she does this and does it well. She introduces you to her characters in the boldest of manners and then she uses their story to reel you in hook, line and sinker. Owen was devastated when he lost his wife but that’s not enough for this author no she makes you feel his pain. The pain he experienced with every breath. And then she makes you fall in love with his relationship with his daughter and just breaks your heart all over again. But no, that’s not enough. Then he takes her to dance class and yup you guessed it she gets you again.
Not everyone can do a story like this and make the feels real and deep and personal like this author does. She pours this story into your heart and imprints it in place. You wont put it down and you’ll love these characters like you loved her previous ones. You will laugh, cry, your ovaries will cry out, you will cheer and encourage them. Yeah, you will be there when these fractured hearts heal as one
A heartfelt must read
I loved this book it had me in tears
The characters are so relatable and real it was like a breath of fresh air to read a book that you can relate to, my emotions were reeling after reading this.
I would recommend this book to anyone
This story is a truly emotional read from beginning to end. It’s about lost love, tragedy, sadness, hope, and even love. Owen thought he had the perfect life until one day tragedy happens and he and his little girl are left alone. Years go by and Owen tries his best to give his daughter the best life possible, but there is always that lingering sadness. Then, one day, he meets Grace and there is a part of him that thinks maybe he can live again. But will his past constantly get in their way? Grace knows she wants Owen in her life but can she ever break thru his barriers? The way this author writes, you can feel the emotions that the characters are expressing, deep down in your heart. Many times I needed to reach for that tissue, but to me, that shows how great the book is when you get so emotionally vested. I rooted for this couple throughout the book and hoped that they would end up together, but did they? If you want to know, then do yourself a favor, and read this beautiful story of second chances. You will not be disappointed.
I think this is my favourite so far by Sienna, there’s so much emotion in this story, with Owen having to learn to live again after a tragic loss with constant reminders all around him, really isn’t be easy on him as you see when you read the book. Life can be a struggle and Owen is trying to do it solo.
SOME SPOILERS AHEAD
This book is a beautiful tragic love story Owen has to learn to raise his beautiful baby girl on his own. This isn’t how its supposed to be his wife Victoria should be here to see the beautiful creation they made together, but life can be cruel and when he was given Ella his wife Vic was torn away from them far too young. Time to be a single daddy and it’s a struggle especially when you’re lost in grief.
A few years later..Ella is Owen’s No.1 priority, and Vic is never far from his thoughts. Ella wants to be a dancer. This is where Grace springs into their lives, she’s Ella’s dance teacher, she’s beautiful, kind, and so loving with Ella and he can’t help but like her even though his heart tells him it’s wrong.
They grow close, start a relationship, but he’s so lost in his head own head with guilt, he rather lose Grace for her to be happy. But is she? He’s definitely not.
Will Owen see past the fact that he does have room in his heart to love again? or will he choose to be lonely?
But don’t panic it’s not a cliffhanger and you get a wonderful view into Owen’s future.
