Elijah Newton wants Diamond but he’s hiding his own secrets. He will protect her no mater what.
Dark, gritty and not for the faint of heart. Ms.Blythe delivers a powerful story. I’m so invested in this family. I am eagerly awaiting the next book.
Yet another fantastic book in this amazing series. This couple was just as inspiring than the ones we have already met, and I can’t wait to see them grow in the future.
I don’t think I could ever get sick of books by this author. No matter when you think you have things figured out, she throws in a curveball to prove you wrong.
My reviews for her books are never that long as I’m too absorbed during and too mind blown after but that in itself says all you need to know. Yes this could be a tough series for people but Jane handles the subject matters with class and I strongly urge you give this series a try.
Wow what an amazing book they keeping getting better and better I can’t wait to see what happens next
Each new book about one of the Hatcher sisters is even more exciting than the previous one. This story had me guessing and falling short by a long shot, I loved it!
Detective Elijah Newton and Diamond Hatcher met the previous year through her sister’s work as a fellow detective. After her dreadful trauma as an eighteen-year-old, it had taken a long time for her to get to the stage where she allowed herself to feel an attraction for a man. Not having it reciprocated was crushing but she went on with her life. Now, they are thrown back together when a murderer uses Diamond’s paintings in his murder scenes.
Elijah has his reasons for not Pershing Diamond and he really is a man of honor. I liked him in the first book and like him even more now. Apart from the fact he is a yummy piece of male goodness, he is loyal, dependable, protective, and strong. Diamond is another character who is easy to like, her honesty-including with herself-is refreshing. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and is so giving and loving, which is amazing after her ordeal.
I wanted to reach into the book and wrap Diamond up in cotton wool or hide her, my feelings of protectiveness so fierce because of the incredible descriptions by this author. Every scene, setting, and character are literally painted with words to give clear, vivid images as the story unfolds. Hand-in-hand with that is the emotions. Oh, the variety of emotions you experience with and for the characters is unreal. You find yourself chuckling one minute and the next raging with ire at the ‘evil’ character. Feeling the love blossoming between the lead characters then sitting on the edge of your seat with fear for them. Simply amazing writing.
Unpredictable did you say? Totally! My advice is to just go along for the ride and not try too hard to work things out because as this author tends to do, she throws red herrings up and drops more pieces of the puzzle to be placed just when you think you might have started to sort it out. Honestly, ASIO should employ this author as her mind is as devious as any master criminal-I mean this in a positive way though!
Another winner with this book and now bring on Amethyst’s story!

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series. Diamond has had a traumatic life and this story is about how her life has been since her horrific ordeal. Elijah is a detective and these two have undeniable chemistry between them, but we know why he is reluctant to act of his feelings. This is a well written tale which is dark, raw, gritty, unpredictable, emotional, and filled with suspense, mystery, and love which had me captivated throughout this addictive and powerful page turner. This story is not for the feint-at-heart and may contain triggers for some readers.
A great addition to the Broken Gems series! A page turner from the beginning, couldn’t put it down. I never quite know what direction the author is going to take, her creativity is amazing and slightly disturbing haha but seriously, she knows how to drag a reader in and keep them on the edge of their seat until the end! Looking forward to the next addition in the series.
