She’s determined to regain her throne, no matter what it takes. Lucia wasn’t raised to be a warrior, but it might be the only way to get her kingdom back from the sister-in-law who stole it. The last book in an awesome series of fairytale retellings. Each book has such an inventive and exciting plot. I love the characters and how the author puts her own twists on the fairytales. I also love a happily ever after!

Lucia is a princess in distress but not in the usual way. Her best friend Katya married Lucia’s brother for which at the beginning Lucia rejoiced and yet slowly things began to change. The death of her father and brother left her now sister-in-law to rule and what a rule it was. High taxes, impossible demands, families ripped apart and the whole kingdom going to ruin. A plot on Lucia’s life forces her to flee into the woods with some loyal staff and slowly they begin to build a village and a rebellion. Hatred for the new queen brings the people together until it seems that someone is trying to kill Lucia! Jonathan is a prince who was dispatched by his father to bring about a marriage between their two kingdoms be it by marrying either Katya (not a option he favoured) or Lucia (who he wasn’t sure was ever going to make it as Queen). Still he chose Lucia and set off to find her. When he arrives it seems that trouble arrives with him as the first of the attempts on Lucia’s life come soon after. Lucia is struggling to make herself the rightful Queen that her people deserve and Jonathan is trying to make sure that he survives long enough to do so.
This is a wonderful Snow White retelling and refreshingly different which is why I don’t want to tell you too much and as with all the others, spoil the surprise! Poisoned Fate is interwoven with this one and if I had a suggestion to make I would say that you need to read Fractured Core first. This is a marvellous series and would encourage you to get them all.
Laura Greenwood has captured my interest again. I love this version of Snow White better than the original. This gives you a different take on the story. Something less evil than the wicked queen/Stepmom. If you loved Snow White then you should definitely give this version a try.
This was so much better than the old Snow White story. Snow always bothered me with reading saving Lucia is strong and independent and just amazing. This is what the original story should have been more like. Fantastic retelling

A wonderful revision of a classic fairy tale. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
This book is the flip side of Poisoned Fate and is told from Lucia’s point of view. If you have read Poisoned Fate, then you will know what to expect to happen in this book. However, you will better gain an understanding of Lucia and why things had to happen the way that they did. You will learn how she goes from being a pampered princess to a woman who can bear the weight of the crown and become queen. She accomplishes this with the help of two trusted friends, her pet bird, an unexpected ally and a new loyal servant.

I have really enjoyed the retelling of these fairytales. This is the counterpart to Poisoned Fate. This is the point of view of Lucia. She is fighting for what she thinks is right and wants to protect her kingdom. She will have to win over the Evil Queen (Katya), who was once her best friend. You get all the missing emotions that were not in Poisoned Fate. Will Lucia make everything right with the happy ending?

This book has a very surprise ending. I did not see that coming. This is a retelling of Snow White but instead of a wicked step mother it is her sister-in-law who takes Lucia’s throne. It follows along the link of Snow White and she even meets her prince. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to all who love retellings.

A modern independent Snow White.
Retelling a classic can sometimes be dicey but this was a fantastic twist take the old and melding it with new modern elements that appeal to audiences today. I loved it!

This is a re-telling of snow white. This is the other side of the story to Poisoned Fate which was Katya’s (Evil Queen) side of the story. This new retelling focuses on Lucia (Snow White) and allows the reader to see her side as she becomes a warrior and tries to bring her people to her side as she fights for her place as queen.

I love this retelling of Snow White
But than a little different.
It hooked me right away at the first chapter a lot and i couldnt put this book down.
I really enjoyed this booK. And Enjoyed this serie of the untold tales by Laura Greenwood
I love retellings and Laura’s are usually great- this one is no exception. Snow White isn’t always my favorite to read about, but I thought it was interesting that the evil stepmother was actually her sister in law. Lucia grows a lot in this book and I enjoyed seeing her gain confidence and the skills that she needed to take the throne. After reading Lucia’s side of things, I really can’t wait to read Katya’s side because I feel like the “villain’s” side is always better!

This sixth installment in the “Untold Tales” series (“Fractured Core”) by Laura Greenwood is a brand-new retelling of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm’s “Snow White” that should not be confounded with a previous retelling of the story (Poisoned Fate) in this series, who focused in Katya’s (Evil Queen) character. This new retelling focuses on Lucia (Snow White) and allows the reader to see the other side of the story, by witnessing Lucia’s development. While the tale can perfectly be enjoyed on its own, it is even better when read in combination with “Poisoned Fate” as both stories are complimentary to each other.
Greenwood’s version of the fairy-tale world is funny, entertaining and interesting. A brand-new take on the fairy-tale trope, fresh, original and fun. The stories, which are independent from each other, offer an amazing blend of the original tales and brand-new twist and situations, that will appeal to both fairy-tale lovers and all those looking for a brand-new story that adds layers of narrations and different POVs to the already known situations. Fairy tales, magic, romance, familiars, FMC, adventure, fast-paced plots, credible leads, new turns and twists, what more can one wish for?

Another different take on Snow White. Lots of twists and turns with a surprise for Lucia. Now I’m going to have to start at the beginning of the series.
This is an enjoyable read, loosely based on the fairytale Snow White, well thought out characters that pull you into a brilliantly well written storyline with plenty of action and twists and turns!, I’d definitely recommend this book.

Our heroine wants her thrown back, but that is going to be a bit more challenging than she anticipated. She might even need a little help.
This is book six of the series, but each one is written as a standalone. No prior reading is required to enjoy this one.
This is a retelling of the classic Snow White fairy tale story with some fun and intriguing twists. As I expect from this author, the story is well written and easy to read. Both the setting and characters are vaguely familiar, and yet they have their own unique twist, making them fresh as well. I found this one to be particular enjoyable as our heroine is a bit tougher than the original and I like strong heroines. Overall, as a fan of new takes on old stories, I had a lot of fun with this one.
Highly recommended

What a great twist on the Snow White story. Lucia didn’t run away from an evil step-mother, she ran away from her best friend who is out to steal her kingdom after her husband, Lucia’s older brother, died. She’s not singing sweetly in the woods dreaming of a prince to save her. No, this princess is learning to be a warrior and a leader, but will it be enough to win the loyalty of her people and take back her rightful throne?
Fast paced, adventure filled read with just a touch of completely unexpected sweet romance.
This is book 6 and while all these stories can be read as standalones, this is also the companion novel to Poisoned Fate – if you haven’t read that yet be sure to grab it to read the other side of this story and see what was going through Katya’s head through all this. Great addition to the series!
